Same here, Filed 1/29 and was accepted 1/30 WMR says the generic processing your return with 21 day message for me also. I have the status bar at the top. Just hoping it doesn’t take the full 21 days, but in past years it was always faster than the quoted time I was given, hopefully it’s the same case this year. Will update if I just so happen to get a DD

Has anyone had better luck today? I’m really starting to panic! I filed 1/10 Married/joint with four children and no education form, accepted 1/24 11:53pm. I was in process all day yesterday. Today WMR tells me I’m putting in wrong info, 800# says processing, and IRS representative said “we just started processing yesterday, check WMR for up to date information.” I can’t order transcripts either.

I filed yesterday and was accepted a few hours later. No DD yet, have the IRS processing bar. Was told by TT it could take up to a week for my refund to be approved by the IRS and once it is I would have a DD date.

Oh No Cupcake, that happened to me last year. I was a lucky one to go through the system test run and the unlucky one to still be in the system when it crashed. It took 2 months before I got my refund. Was that recent blog on TurboTax (hoping it was from last year).

Mine still didn’t update either and my daughter who filed on 1/19 still hasn’t even been accepted yet.

HI club 28’rs I filed with tax act on the 24th (afternoon), got accepted around 3:00 pm on the 28th. Still getting processing blah, blah, blah, 21 days, and more blah.. last year all over again. BTW payed my fee upfront for my state return, used free federal and it’s going straight from IRS to BOA

WMR still giving me the 21 day message. I just read somewhere that the IRS system crashed yesterday and that may cause some refunds to be delayed until early April. I read that on Turbo Tax, one of the reps said it.

Accepted 1/25, still processing here too. Just a W-2, claimed children, (one dependent is new, born March ’12) but that’s the biggest change. Same ole EIC, child tax credits. 4th year in a row we’ve been held up for no darn good reason. I’m really getting pissed off reading people accepted on 1/30 getting their DD dates already- I mean, I’m glad for them, but pissed off because ours has been in their system for 5 additional days with no apparent movement!?

We have 5 kids, we could really use this right about now. It’s bad enough waiting almost 2 years now for the VA to approve my husband’s disability claim.

I think this is a bunch of total bull.Why would it take them 2more weeks to fix this problem?Personally I think it’s all a excuse to bigger refunds back and push all of the quicker easier refunds through first that are also smaller in check size like my 2 sons 1040ez’s for example so they can get more interest on the money they do have in the bank.Makes no sence it would take so long.There going to have to shut this system down to fix it you would think???

Got a confirmation that my refund was accepted by IRS 1/30. Where’s my refund stats read: your federal return was accepted expect a refund within 21 days. Came back next day status reads -we are still processing your return. Then it gives me some reading literature on tax topic. I did not receive the newly implemented tax status bar either the second time.

I got rejected on 1/29 just for my sons birth yr messed up but I got accepted 1/30 and Turbo tax gave me estimate date of return 2/20 but it says I could get it anytime from the 10th till the 20th (again that is turbo tax saying that)I’m hoping ASAP lol but hope this helps u guys

Files on 1/11 tt accepted 1/24 at 10:38 pm pst married filing jointly one w2 eic child tax credit for our two kiddos. Only thing different from last year is our second child. I’ve checked the WMR site 800# irs2go and it all processing should receive in 21 days blah blah my return per irs has not been flagged or anything like that. I have no idea why people who filed and were accepted after me already have dd dates although I am happy for them jut would looove to see one for myself! Lol

Darn I was accepted the 25th, and have seen a few say 2/1, but mine only said was being processed, then it showed my info as being invalid since or that WMR was down. I agree 2/1 would be very cool.

I called the IRS just to make sure I wasn’t flagged since this year I got to add my adult daughter and 2 grandkids to my return (I got the pleasure of supporting them ALL year). The IRS guy would NOT check my status and told me to call back in 21 days from the date I got the acceptance acknowledgement. He then transferred me to the law help (thank goodness I was allowed to claim them), but he didn’t offer to check either. I went back to WMR and it is back to processing. :) Wheeeeeew. HOPEFULLY, something positive happens with either the status or my bank account tonight.

BTW, my return was me and 3 dependents. I don’t get EIC (which I heard can delay some tax since they have to verify more). I filed Head of Household, which I have for years. I still paid WAY more Federal taxes than what I am getting back, but still happy that I don’t have to pay more.

I’ve read some post where people were bragging they got their refunds today. I find it hard to believe that the first thing they did after getting a refund was to jump on the computer and search for a where’s my refund site, just so they can blog that they got one. For the life of me I can’t figure out why someone gets pleasure out of lying about it… when they do “really” get their refund they should consider spending it on therapy.

Well, good luck to all and may we all wake up blessed with some money in the bank or at least our refund status updated to show a DD date.

Obviously the 28th wasn’t a popular day. I filed the 27th, was accepted about 11 am (PST) the 28th. I checked WMR earlier today, the status bar only says received. I haven’t called the hotline, my check is to be deposited into my checking account that updates throughout the day.

I filed on 1-17 with Taxact.
I was accepted on 1-24 around 2PM.

Checked this morning with WMR tool and could not get an update.
Eventually tried the hotline and got the processing…21 days message.
I have tried multiple times to order a transcript with no luck.

I checked WMR and it says processing with the bar and everything..so heres to hoping that the early filers are being processed as usual. If not hopefully I can be rejected and then re-file without the form…

I was accepted on the 24th. I checked WMR this morning at 7am MST. It worked fine and showed a DD of Feb 1. I have checked it 6 times throughout the day, including 5 minutes ago and it has worked fine and stayed the same every time. For comparison with you guys, I filed a 1040EZ, single, no dependents, and only a 1099-SA for my HSA. Sucks that it looks like it’s holding up for you. It wouldn’t be surprising to learn though that WMR still has a few issues and that they are working them out.

On the where’s my refund today (1/30) it says to “payment being sent to bank on 2/1 and if not seen by 2/6 to contact them.

I have to say this is the fastest in my history of filing if it really hits when they say.

I filed on the 20th and got accepted on the 28th. From all the reading Ive been doing the irs isnt doing weekly deposits this year. With the new system they are also testing testing daily refunds! I will not swear to that though. I was reading about the new Mef system today :)

Your return has been accepted, but on January 28 the IRS announced that all returns like yours, with higher education credits, will be delayed for processing until sometime in mid-February. The specific higher education credits include the American Opportunity Tax Credit and the Lifetime Learning Credit, found on Form 8863.

My hubby spoke to an irs agent today and was told our return has been processing since 1/24 it hasn’t been flagged for anything and to expect our refund in 21 days. I filed mine on the 24th and was accepted on the 26th, and I cant access thw WMR site, it says they have no info on me, and when I called the 800 #, it said the same thing as others have heeard, its processing, 21 days, blah blah blah.. I too wish I would of known this before I field, I would of left off the 8863, and just filed it later on.. Ugh..
@ Lina, I sure hope that 2nd IRS person you talked to was right!

Very early this morning the “new” WMR site showed the return was accepted and said it would be deposited within 21 days. I just check when I was shutting down my web pages and thought what the heck, maybe it will be good news (but not expecting anything different).. Boy was I wrong… now it cannot located my return… Hoping it is processing to the next phase, but worried something else may be happening. I got to be a chosen one last year too and my return got stuck in their system for over 2 months.

Hi fellow 8863ers. First let me tell you that if you check WMR too many times in one day, it will basically block you and tell you nothing is found. It has been like that for years. I think it’s for your protection in case someone got your info. Also after speaking to one IRSer that didn’t even know there was a hold on 8863, I called back & the next lady said they should process 2/11. So by logic conclusion, those who got accepted last week ( w/o 8863 ) are getting DD on 2/1 we should get it a week after 2/11. Fingers crossed and we should all keep in touch and post when ours has been received.
