Yeah I was quoted $500 from a corner tax place to file them. Either I would need to pay it up front out or pocket or they would take $600 from my return.

I’m very low income one job; so that’s a lot of money that can honestly go towards fixing my car instead of for them to file it for me.

Filed and accepted on 2-1 on TT, EIC and ACTC, fees taken out of refund. 1 w2, simple return but it is a new job I started early 2023.

My bottom 2 Transcripts have 2023, but blank except for As of date 2-26-24, top 2 are still N/A. My Transcripts changed to this on Friday, I think.

WMR no longer has code 152, just all my info and “still processing”

*Moved from General Discussion Post* In short, accepted 1/22, pather, eitc, actc, same return the last 10 years. Nothing new. WMR 1 bar with TT152 shortly after. On 1/27, bars gone and an alert (orange triangle) on WMR and IRS account…”Action Req’d, verify identity”. Link goes to IDme. Logs in successfully, then states “Not able to provide assistance via tool”. Even though IDme is current, and established user since 2000, logs in successfully. No letter received. No notifications online. Various IRS reps state nothing can be done until 21 days post opening day=2/19. Makes no sense.

Where does it usually show you have to verify identity? My wmr just shows accepted. I don’t know my accepted date because I didn’t check for over a week. My transcript says as of date 2/12 BUT also says no return filed and my online account says 2023 return needs to verify identity and they mailed a letter. They mailed it to my old house so I have no access to it. Does it normally show on the irs refund status page? I spoke with someone and she said she couldn’t see it or knew if it had anything to do with my return for this year. I did get my address changed but not sure where to go from here. I’ve moved several times in the last 15 years and never had to verify identity before.

Heyy guys I have code 810 on my transcript filed 1/31 accepted same day. I just recieved the letter today saying I needed to confirm my with holding and to send supporting documents. 1099 and w2s most likely code 810 is an with holding verification.

NC is accepting returns, but not processing them till March. The NC WMR wasn’t even available a few days ago. I haven’t checked to see if NC WMR has become available. NC is always late with refunds.

I got my mn state refund today. I checked on Friday morning, it said preparing, checked again Friday afternoon and it said it was sent to my bank and was in my bank this Saturday morning.( 2/10) I don’t have federal yet but do have a DDD of 2/14 which updated today. This has been the first year it has taken this long.

Turbo Tax does not give a DDD. It clearly says estimated date which is 21 days. Its a generic message.

@Ruben if you don’t have CTC then I wouldn’t worry about it, but if you have CT AND you filed before they agreed to make changes to that credit your taxes are going to be delayed. It happened to me one year and this is whyi never file in January. The form that you used when you filed was not current form. Then when you call them to inquire they’re going to say you’re in the “corrections department ” whatever made up department that is.

Nope it’s totally correct! We will be seeing our returns early this year ! As stated mine updated with a ddd aswell on TT

I believe those that aren’t seeing anything are held up because of that ctc. I filed on Feb 4 and have all codes except 846. I only have eic. If you filed too early, and they made adjustments to a credit or added an additional form. From my experience the irs will try to correct them now versus having a back load of amended returns. I’m not. 100 percent sure but this happened to me one year when I filed too early.

So maybe a couple days after i should see my refund. I usually file no later than feb 1st and see my return between 2/22-2/26

More than likely you’re looking at your as of date. They don’t start processing ctc until the 15th

Where are you seeing DDD of 2/29? If you filed on the 8th, the 29th would be 21 days…so I am kinda thinking u are reading something wrong somewhere

Is there any connection when it comes to refunds for state and federal? Like if federal wants to do an audit or ID verify, will that hold up your state refund? I filed my state (ohio) on the 8th and ALREADY have a processed for deposit date of the 9th. That’s so freaking fast, it was hard to believe when I saw it. Does this hopefully mean things will be okay with my federal?

I’m a single parent with a 9 year old, his dad isn’t around and I pay more than half of the cost of my household as I also have a roommate and claim HOH, do not pay someone to file your taxes they will charge upwards of $300. Use HR&Block free file, it walks you through everything step by step including on claiming your daycare expenses. You will get a bigger deduction with HOH and in turn receive a larger refund.

Transcripts still haven’t updated to show anything processing as of yet (9 days in now from the time we filed). We have the earned income credit and child tax credits so we’re on the PATH again per the normal.

Any possible ideas of when this will start processing?

You could claim HOH on what you have stated

HOH gives you a bigger standard deduction

Turbo Tax or any tax program would walk you thru the stuff but if your feel overwhelmed or worried I would see a tax preparer

This is what we expect if it works like prior years and according to the IRS ECC Calendar:

President’s Day will play a role with PATH this year. If it works like other years:

Thursday 2/15 PATH “expires” but we won’t see anything change on transcripts or WMR.

Friday 2/16 transcripts will update with Code 846 Refund Issued for Thursday 2/22.

Saturday 2/17 WMR will update with Direct Deposit Date for Thursday 2/22.

*There are cases where some people may get a direct deposit earlier than 2/22. In the cases where someone meets all of these conditions:
1) Paid Fees Up Front
2) Did NOT take a refund advance and
3) uses a NHB (no hold bank), a direct deposit could post to their account 1-4 days earlier.

In these cases we anticipate the first date actual money could post is Friday 2/16 in the early afternoon.

*In cases where you don’t get an 846 code, you may see an additional transaction, for instance 570.
