id.me irs notifications?

So I filed 1/18, was accepted 1/19 and on 2/2 the only update I’ve seen is on WMR (“Still Processing” prompt) and the account transcripts. My as of date is 2/12, and everything in the wage and account transcripts is blank still. the 2 top transcripts still say n/a.

My question is, I’ve been clicking around my IRS profile and saw today that I had a notification stating that they needed to verify my tax return information. I have paperless notifications set up and so far nothing has come to my email. I’ve also not received a letter. Could this have just popped up today? I’m not sure if it’s just something I’ve missed that’s been there for a while or not.

Also, has anyone else gotten something like this? How long did it take to clear up?

I had the message regarding possible verify letter coming but it went back to Tax Topic 152 today

I called today and was told the same thing. I was told to wait until 2/20 and if I didn’t have an update then to call back.

Spoke to the IRS on phone, They said that they couldn’t see anything wrong with my return, and that there are no notices indicating any information is needed, nor any letters issued.

Same boat. Didn’t receive a letter however nice guy in the ID dept sched me an appt at the local irs office to verify.

I’m sorry y’all are in the same boat, but relieved it’s not uncommon. Ugh, hopefully we get these letters soon.

i have the same exact situation as you, same acceptance date and i just noticed the verify info link on the main IRS page….maximally annoyed

I’m in the same situation. Spoke to IRS today and they told me my letter was mailed out today (2/9/24). In order to verify my ID online, I will need to wait for the letter because I will need the control number. He also told me that I might possibly need last years tax return to verify my ID. Hoping the letter comes soon!

Hello. I had the same thing and it’s been two weeks and I have not yet received a letter via online portal nor in the mail. I’m hoping I can just log in to verify. I have never been chosen to. Verify but last year I did not file a return because I did not work. Maybe that’s why it was flagged. I’m unsure.
