I filed 1/21 and I’m guessing accepted same day. All of my transcripts show for 2023. I just don’t have a DDD or the 846 code. I paid fees out of refund and usually get mine the evening before my ddd through H&R Block on the emerald card.

My WMR updated this morning to PATH message. So I guess I sit here until PATH lifts… I’ll probably still check every day to make sure no bad codes show up on my transcript.

So, I’m hoping maybe you are right and it’s something simple to fix or easy to explain. As with everyone else, I really need my refund. They pick the worse year to review me. lol

Well the “ Account Transcript and the Return Transcript “ Finally showed up . But on the “ Account Transcript “ it’s still showing “ No returned Filed “ but if I got check the “ Returned Transcript “ shows my taxes I filled . Not sure why it’s like that but assuming that the cycle chart is correct that means today 2/9 transcript updated on 2/10 WMR should update , and DDD 2/14 .

Also cycle code on return transcript shows 2024/04/06

So I filed with turbotax actually on the 25. Accepted, same day. I have earned income credit and the child tax credit. But I only have the bottom 2 transcripts. One is no return filed status. The other is all 0 with a as of date of the 19th. What in the world is going on? I’m usually a path so I’m really surprised. But I don’t even know what days they update

Years ago, my ex-husband went to a tax preparer. He filed his taxes, didn’t get the loan he was hoping for and then suddenly it dawned on him all the documents he signed. ..which clearly explained the fees, etc

This happened to me one year before, they sent a pin and I had to go online and put it in and had my refund like 2 days later. I’m hoping that’s all it is again. Still sucks tho

The reason that ‘as of’ dates are calculated and displayed on your tax transcript is to determine if you have a tax balance that is due to be paid or if you will be eligible for a tax refund at the time of filing your tax return. You get an update refund date after the as of date which is just the irs deadline to make sure your return is good.

810 is a freeze that likely is related to your return being selected for examination (audit). Don’t worry, sometimes it’s a quick process. It’s more involved than a review like 570. But it doesn’t mean fraud.

810 will likely be accompanied at one point by TC 424. That will confirm you are under examination (audit). It can be for a number of different reasons and some are easily resolved. Watch for a notice to be sent. It will tell you exactly what you need to do. Different letters go out for different things depending on what they are examining.

For instance, correspondence auditors usually will send Letter 566S for the audit of a specific item. Letter 566E is typically used for the audit of wages, withholding, and refundable credits, while CP 75 and CP 75A letters are commonly used for correspondence audits involving tax credits. Letter 718 is the Initial Contact Letter typically used for correspondence audits that involve self-employment tax.

I am so sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately, these companies, even HRB would love for you to come in and think you can’t help yourself.

For the situation you described, you probably can do this easily on your own next year. Try FreetaxUSA next year. It’s really easy. It just asks you a series of questions that are easy to answer and will calculate it for you, submit efile for free for your federal income tax return. I think there is a fee of ~14.99 for submitting a state tax return. But that’s better than $600

I used TurboTax for many years and they are great at walking you through with questions as well. But they still charge 39.99+ for filing. When I learned about FreetaxUSA I never went back because I don’t have state taxes so mine is entirely free.

@ Tam4423: There are several reasons return can be selected for examination (audit) and some are just random. You would get a different letter depending on the reason.

The auditor has a choice of notices to send next. An initial audit contact letter about an audit is sent, however they can customize the letter depending on what they are inspecting.

Letter 566S is generally used for the audit of a specific item.

Unless you used Chime bank like the others, SBTPG will hold onto your refund until the literal DDD.
I actually made a note to myself this time last year to never pay fees out of my refund again because of SBTPG.

Filed 1/28 late night, accepted 1/29 early am. HRB, fees paid up front, PATHer due to ACTC.

WMR updated to the generic 1 bar the next day. The day after that, the 2 bottom transcripts showed up (the ones that we don’t really use for this). Then everything just sat still doing nothing until today. All 4 transcripts appeared this morning, no bad codes but no ddd either (which i don’t expect until PATH clears).

WMR still hasn’t updated to the PATH message, maybe it will tomorrow.
