My exact situation last year @lance except got id letter after refund. Same situation as you this year except i cant view my transcripts, so I wouldn’t know if I have 846 code.
Nothing for me. Fees already taken out of state. No federal yet.

Sometimes they catch it, sometimes they dont. Do you have the 846 on your transcripts?

I dont know where my other comment went but I also read in another forum that you can download the usps app and you should be able to see if any letters are on the way. I hope this helps, goid luck everyone
Thats what happened to me last year. Never updated to PATH. Had the exact same message. But on that Saturday, the big update, I was given a DDD of 2/23. After I had already received my refund, I get a letter to verify my identity. Called the number, turns out, I didn’t need to verify. This year f+a 2/2 updated to path, thenn before midnight had the same message everyone else is getting. I cant see transcripts online, so Im impatiently waiting for tomorrow. If you dont update in the morning, I would call sometime next week.
Do you guys that updated have a tax topic? Mines do not. Just the simple we have received your tax return and it is being processed. Refund amount is available but no tax topic.

Well for my own peace of mind i have decided that getting path is a good thing until I learn otherwise. Last year I never updated to Path, lost bars with the generic refund date will be available etc. Ended up getting ddd of 2/23 but after that received an ID verify letter. This year I have path and ordered transcripts today…not sure if they’ll come blank or if I will get ddd before they arrive. But for me, seeing the path message was a relief. We shall find out soon.
@skittlez I think I read somewhere else that ssa didnt update your income but your return is completed?? My situation f+a 2/2 updated to PATH 2/10 ssa does not have my income for this year reported and some years are wrong. Btw thanks for answering my first question. Its a lot of questions and comments on here lol.

Well guys for the first time ever Ive updated to the PATH message. Last year I lost bars was told I had to ID verify but then I didn’t have to got dd 2/23.

hoping for at least a 2/22 dddFiled and accepted 2/2 woke up to a ddd of 2/14 on 2/7 . As of today republic bank had already issued it out to my bank. It looks as if I may receive it before 2/14. A total of 5 days, impressive and the fastest I have ever gotten a ddd. Good luck everyone!!!
@lance, I’ve seen you post on most forums. Although I agree with you, I think maybe how you come across is the problem. If people want to hold on to hopes of getting their refund early, let them. If the disappointment comes, lesson learned for them. I just hope everyone who is reading take all advice and “facts” with a grain of salt. Every tax year, situation etc. is different.

I really dont understand what the issue is. This PATH stuff may be ridiculous, but just think what if someone got a hold to your children’s info, claimed them and there you go the real nightmare starts. Everyone including myself is praying on a ddd tomorrow but realistically I know I wont get an update until next weekend or later. Sadly I believe lance is correct, but just be patient. Im just hoping I dont lose any bars or get the dreaded ID letter. Haven’t heard of anyone getting one yet, last year was nuts!!!
Last year was crazy. I got that same message, called and was told I had to ID verify, to wait on a letter, letter never came, never updated to the Path message, next thing you know I got a DDD of feb. 23rd. I filed jan. 28th last year accepted the same day.
This year filed 2/2 accepted within 10 minutes, on one bar tax topic 152. Hoping for a good update soon, and hopefully I wont go through half of the stress as last year. Good luck everyone.
