What exactly does accepted mean? I received the orange status bar saying IRS has received my refund on 1/31 at about 6pm. Still waiting on a dd, but the wmr system has been giving me the 21 day message all day today and no status bar no more. Whats up with that? Oh I filed through preparer on 1/29.

Oh, and I had to call the IRS today to get our date. WMR and phone still say processing, but I was able to order our transcript this morning. Hoping to see WMR change tomorrow, I’ll feel much better seeing it vs. hearing the (absolutely wonderful) IRS lady tell me it!

          Filed 1/17, accepted 1/25.

Bummed because my daughters birthday is coming next week and I wanted to do something extra special for her. I hope it comes through.

            Mr awesome

Ms. Joy : I too got the same email regarding the delay. I’m not positive, but it may be the 1098-t form I filed.

Just figured everyone floating out there in cyberspace could get together here and update everyone when they receive their 2/6 deposit… my bank has no delays, I always get my DD for everything a day early. So if they are sending out refunds for 2/4 already as I’ve read, maybe we’ll get ours by Monday!

Update when you receive yours, please! :)

Well, I’ve checked the phone hotline and tried to order transcripts. I filed and got accepted on the 30th. No other update since then. My refund is probably getting reviewed.

My file was accepted on the 30th as well. WMR and 800 number still saying processing. I was able to order both of my 2012 transcripts today. Does this mean that I am about to change on the WMR or does it not mean anything? I see some people say that they were accepted on the 30th and will get a refund on 2/4 and 2/7. Is this really true?

i’ve been so frustrated checking the 800# and wmr and seeing still processing. it gives me hope seeing so many 29ers with a dd of 2/6 when they have called to check the status. hopefully we will all get our money then, if not sooner!

I ordered both account and return transcripts. Wmr is asking what date I filed and irs2go is saying I put the wrong info in.

I used h&r block, submitted on maybe the 20th-ish. About mid-day on Jan 30th, I got an email saying I had been rejected. It said something about the AGI, and when I looked it over, I thought it was right, so I resubmitted without making any changes. About 5 minutes later, I realized my mistake. But it was too late, had to wait for it to reject again then fix it. It rejected again within maybe about 2 hours, I fixed it correctly this time, and resubmitted. Even after all that, it did get accepted by the IRS on the 30th, but late in the evening, maybe 11pm or so, so I’m calling that the 31st.

Anyway once it got accepted, I’m gonna guess that it’s being processed as if the rejections never happened. Unless anyone on here has heard of anyone being delayed by rejections like that?

Letting you guys know that I got a hold of someone at the IRS who was very nice and helpful. Said the online systems nd automated system are behind. He told me mine is scheduled for deposit on 2/6. I alswas accepted like y’all on the 29th so you may try that. Not all IRS people are helpful when you call but I’d say the money is on it’s way and our day looks like the 6th!

                                                                              Dear TaxACT® Customer,

On Monday, January 28, 2013, the IRS announced that it has added Form 8863 to the list of delayed forms that cannot be submitted to the IRS until mid-February (an official date has not been determined). http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/List-of-IRS-forms-that-1040-filers-can-begin-filing-in-late-February-or-into-March-2013

Since the return you have submitted to TaxACT contained Form 8863, Education Credits (American Opportunity and Lifetime Learning Credits), and it was ACCEPTED by the IRS, the IRS will hold it until they are able to process Form 8863 in mid-February. You do not need to take any additional action at this time.

                                                                              Where’s My Refund?
Since your return was accepted before the IRS announced the processing delay, Where’s My Refund will show that the return has been received. However, progress to the next phase, Refund Approved, will not occur before mid-February when the IRS can begin processing these returns. You will not be given a refund date during this waiting period due to the delayed processing of Form 8863. You do not need to contact the IRS about your return or take any other action.

I have been reading about ordering the transcripts, so I gave it a shot. It says my info is incorrect:/ We moved right after tax season last year, so when I put in our old address it logs in but says there is not a transcript available for 2012. Is this because I am still being “held”, or because they havent updated the address? Just curious if anyone else is experiencing the same thing

I highly doubt an agency that relies so heavily on precision can act as randomly as many of us perceive. Last year I started a thread entitled “Is there a Pattern” under the username E (I actually went by Typhoon Dragon as well but it’s a long story). Anyway, as I’ve been reading the posts here and elsewhere I realized that in order to determine if there was a pattern at all I would first have to understand what happens during the life cycle of an individual tax return. What’s actually going on between point A (the receipt of our forms at the IRS) and point B (the receipt of our refunds in our accounts)? For people to file and be accepted on the same day yet receive their refunds days or even weeks apart suggests that some returns must take more steps between points A and B than others. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated by me and may prove to be very useful to all of us.

Mine is going straight to my personal bank. I called the number under contacts with ext 362. I was seriously so shocked. I had been so upset all week because of the IRS and then my school told me my finacial was being held for Pell review two days before disbursement. Just pray. I have been praying my head off so my husband said God had to do something because I was clogging up all his incoming lines LOL.

It was rejected because I couldn’t remember my pin from last year. 10 min later I refiled and it was accepted before 10am. Still says processing now. I hate waiting. I read on another forum that people that filed on the 30th already got their deposits. Which it would come that fast for me. I need to book my Vegas vacation! lol

Been trying to order return transcript all week but nothing. Magically I could today. I called, needing info about back federal tax offset. Rep confirmed processing, DD 2/6. She said they were sending a few through at a time. I bet I asked ten times if it really said a deposit date and she keep reassuring me. Have three students in the house so I was sure mine would be held up. Just thought it might ease nerves. I have been a nervous wreck all week.

HR block sent me an email the 30th saying it sent it out to NJ and to federal. On the HRBlock website its still saying processing… and no updates over over 48 hours.. smh.. IRS website can’t find me and is saying HRBlock never processed it thru again.. ugh.
