Happy Tuesday y’all :-) I broke down and called IRShove n’ stuff today..my dad peer pressured me with his anti tax man antics..anyways found out my return has been with the injured spouse department and assigned to an individual since the 13th. Tried to see if anybody on home page had heard of someone that had experience with this but was not very successful. I would be willing to bet there are others on here that have been assigned to someone too, but are still just being given the 11week run around when they call. Either way lets just hope we hear something soon..I’ll let you guys know if I get any updates.

forgot to add @mrse2u, that in a community property state, it doesn’t matter how much or if one of you didn’t work (whether the injured or liable spouse) they can take up to 50% of the total refund.

I’m wondering how long after the 570 people should get returns. I remember some people saying 3 weeks, we are a little over 4 weeks past that and still nothing. Called yesterday wouldn’t tell me anything other than the 11 week speech. We are at almost 9 weeks now.

@mrse2u, is there 2 lines with code 846? that’s how my transcript looks from the past years, the first is the money coming to me and the other is the money going to debt, then there will be another code just saying again the amount that went to debt (so the same number as the amount on the second 846)

Ok, I’m very confused. I efiled with the IS form on 2/8. My husband made very little and had nothing withheld for fed taxes, all withholding was my income. Husband has a large CS debt though from a prior relationship, and we’re in AZ.. community property state (I have 4 kids so my refund/credit was pretty substantial). Transcripts showed a 570 code on 3/3, Then an 846 for DD of HALF my expected refund but no code 971? Also got a text this morning from republic bank saying to expect the refund this week and the amount shown is also half what I expected. What’s going on here?

The neg added up is the total return, but after the part they’re taking to go towards debt we only see about half of what the neg is added up.

So like last year: the w2 withholding, plus EIC plus the other amount we got credited (so all the negatives) added up to a little over 6K. Almost 3K of that went to the debt. After they processed the IS (the code it updates to after 570) it showed code 846 2 times, the first one was what we got (a little over 3K) and the second was what went to the debt.

So in the past has the neg added up been your return?

                      Do I need an advocate?
I filed 1/26 and was accepted, ddd of 2/20! Nothing!! Received a letter that $117 was taken out for previous taxes and that the remaining money will be sent to me(which i knew i owed and expected it so it was no surprise). I have called twice and was told no additional informatin or paperwork is needed from me and i have to wait 60 days! I did nothing different from the last couple of years (i claimed my same 3 children and my husband and i have not changed jobs!) I was also told by one rep that the computer randomly picks 15-20 out of every 100 people to review!! I was one of them. This is not fair. I am still waiting! My husband has lost his job and everything is falling on me. Meaning i have to support 5 of us until he finds work.
so i just saw my transcripts and this is what it has:
                      code
                      150 ——–cycle 20140705 refund filed 3/3 (BUT I filed 1/26)
806 ——-states credit with a date of 4/15
                      766 ——-states a credit with a date of 4/15
                      768 ——states a credit with a date of 4/15
826——the amount i owe the irs with a date of 3/3 after taking out what i owe the irs
                      971——notice issued a date of 3/3
                      846——$$$$ issued 3/3
                      841——–refund cancelled 3/3
570——–additional account action pending $0 with a date of 3/10
                      Anyone understand?

Yeah, @hatewaiting, so far TX (a community property state) has been really constant in that department. No matter if I have been working, not working, only worked for sometime during the year…they always take right around half our return. (my husband is the injured spouse), so I don’t expect this year to be any different for us.

okay thank you i am just trying to figure out if it is coming and if the neg numbers added together is the total i should be getting back for my return cause i live in AZ and that is a community state so that means they can take half but doesnt mean they will lol but i was looking at later post that you have and those show just about the same information that i have so i guess it is just a waiting game no direct answers for either of us :(

@Hatewaiting, I copied and pasted this from the FB injured spouse group

806 – this is your W-2 or 1099 withholding (will be negative)- this will ALWAYS have a date of 04/15/20XX next to it. This means NOTHING, it is just the due date of all tax returns. Everyone has this date.

Still nothing of report here…transcripts still looking the same…I don’t think WMR is of any use to me because I mailed the form after e-filing our return, however I do check it and it still has the same info as it did last month. No return, call the phone number to see who got our return, etc. We’re leaving to go out of state in 2 weeks and I’d really like to have it by then, but we are only on week 6. I am hoping for a direct deposit, but from the looks of everyone else’s replies there could be a paper check waiting for my upon my return. Who knows. Just trying to keep the faith here!

Me and my wife filed on 2/4/14 and got excepted on 2/6/14. The one bar we did have went away on 2/24/14 and has been gone ever since. I call the irs a couple of times and got the same old 11 week story. The last time I called them was on 3/17/14 and was told my case was handed to someone else to work on and that sounded like good news to her. My wife made most of the money this year . I didn’t work a whole lot (another story). I checked today (3/25/14) and still no change.

Hoping I can call after work today and reach a good person. Has anyone’s transcripts or WMR updated today? And I’m happy for your @johnnyrocket ! Congrats!

This is the most ridiculous thing ever. It should be a simple process. It’s electronic. They can give us a deadline of April 15th..and get months and months to process returns.

Last Thursday I had the “received” status on the pizza tracker. Today I went to check and the pizza tracker graphic is gone and it just says “your return is still processing”. Is this normal? Or should I be worried?

I’m just using mine to finish what ever debts I owe by the time it gets here. Am doing sweat equity, but was hoping to get in on the next build, oh well, just have to make the one after that, so probably about another 8-9 months, really wanted out of my crappy apartment, the foundation is shifting, but don’t want to move and pay higher rent. Good Luck to you all, and may GOD BLESS and watch out for you.

I will be praying for you and all the other IS filers who really need their money. What I don’t understand, is with all the electronic technology out there, why it would take them so long to process these type of refunds. What is there to check on? They put your ssn in the system to see who owes what, and you know that probably don’t take long at all, then look at the returns, and figure out what to send. It seems like they are punishing those who have to file the IS form. Makes no sense at all.

We just found out his paycheck that was supposed to be deposited tomorrow will not be. They are paying coaches April-July now for spring season. Our water/gas bill, phone bill, electric bill are all due tomorrow and we have $12 in the acct right now. I am PRAYING we get our refund now. I wasn’t counting on it before but am now. I’m a 2/12 Turbo tax efiled both so I’m not incredibly hopeful. I am thinking tax advocate but the first year I filed when we did use a TA it took 10 weeks. And when we haven’t it’s always been sooner so I’m cautious. Thank you for listening group!

If your spouse worked, then his portion would go to the debt. Do you know if you live in a community state? Cause if you do, then even though you were the only wage earner, then they could possibly apply a part of the refund to the others debt. I found the information on the IRS website under injured spouse info. They have a list of the community states.

I hope it is done by then, I filed 1/28, any early filers get an dd update yet?

Your return has been processed. A direct deposit of your refund is scheduled to be issued on (APRIL 03, 2014). If your refund is not credited to your account within 15 days of this date, check with your bank to find out if it has been received.

I use a netspend card, so we will see what day it actually hits my account

I thought that the injured spouse form was to protect your taxes from being intercepted for your spouse. Why would it be two different amount shown? Wouldn’t all the money come to me??

But 570 basically means you’re waiting for someone to work your return, after that you will hopefully get the code that means they’re releasing your refund (and that one will show up twice: one showing how much is going to you, and one showing what’s going to your debt)

I’ve been stuck on the 570 code for weeks now :/

I was given a date of March 23rd as my dd, which I thought was odd cause it was on a Sunday. Today is day 21 and WMR still says, “your tax return is still being possessed.”

Wish they would provide us with some kind of status updates-as our return is worked-in a dream world. The one good thing I see is lots of people are getting them quick this year..last year there were a few here and there getting them within 6-8 weeks and it was heart breaking..it will come..you’re over half way there…atleast we aren’t in the 2nd week of February wishing for April to be here haha..

When you file IS a human bring has to work your return. Once they finish it’s cycled thru and posts to master file and a ddd is generated, unless you mail in your IS form or get a TA in which case your check will be mailed. I wish I could give you a concrete answer on how these dates work, but IS is a horse of a different color. I’ve yet to find a pattern or order to how they work the cases- the truth is in the fine print- you may have to wait up to 11 weeks or in some cases longer- and coming to terms with that is hard for those that have plans for their return, and a lot harder for those in financial distress. Everyday that goes by you get a little closer to your return-every time I even think about stressing about all this I think to myself what if injured spouse weren’t an option? Happy Monday

Also, there are people whose transcripts update daily , and even biweekly, but in most cases they update on Fridays, if you do a little research this website has a lot of information to offer on transcripts, codes, dates and more. Check out the tabs at the top of the page under contacts you will find phone numbers and websites that are extremely helpful, for those of you that are new to IGMR.

By far the fastest turn around I have had in my years for filing injured spouse.

Most of us I think are stuck in the 570 code which means that they still need to work on your return. What you’re looking for (from what I have read) is the 846 codes, that’s when they have processed the refund (split it between the debt and the refund if it applies)

I still have no seen any change.
