To everyone: I’ll be checking back in here later tomorrow to see how things are going even if I finally got my ddd I’m gonna be around here (if I don’t respond I will as soon as I am able too, I try to check this site when I have free time). Also, I know some people are saying it’s very bad if you get the still being processed message and it’s an audit or review but please don’t let this get to you. If that was true I wouldn’t have got a ddd, I got that message and had other things occur this year that never happened with prior taxes but everything is finally progressing it just took longer than usual so I also worried at first too. But eventually i started to look at this year tax process as unless I see a “bad” code or message on WMR or get a letter from the irs to not worry, most likely everything is okay it’s just taking longer for some. Of course some will have issues with their returns but that doesn’t mean their experience will be yours even if it’s similar or seems exactly the same, just try to hang in and be positive! I’m hoping all my best for you all waiting 💜

@Diana sounds like the same things happening to a lot of people I’m not sure why it’s happening but hopefully you’ll update to a ddd soon. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about unless you see a bad code or get a letter. If you can view online transcripts those might provide better info for you.

You know I really wished the irs would be more transparent and consistent with people (taxpayers) and just let people know whats going on with their taxes and if they got flagged, reviewed, resqeunced, are simply just processing, or etc to just give people that info on WMR or somewhere. The irs would save ALOT of people from calling them and/or freaking out if they just updated people with what’s going!!

@Kaitlyn so here’s a look at my tax process this year and why most likely your fine and things are just taking longer. My total time from being accepted to finally getting a ddd this year was 31 DAYS (filed 01/10, accepted 01/17, finbally approved 02/16) that’s including weekends. I’m the past years I’ve always gotten my tax refund within 21 days of being accepted. I’m not sure what’s causing this message to appear for so many this year (it seems this message has appeared in past years for people) but I’m sure everything is okay with your taxes, try to hang in there and I hope you get positive news soon!!🙏

❗️To all: The thing is nobody can really tell you for sure what’s happening with your taxes. Some could process fine and within 21 days (like every year I’ve had until this year), some could get resqeunced, some could get flagged and reviewed, and some could have other things occur. let’s try to keep this thread positive, people are mainly just giving their opinions and experience with the tax process on this website and just because someone had something happen with their taxes or heard about it happening to someone else doesn’t mean it will happen for you. Some might say I was audited or reviewed after getting the STILL BEING PROCESSED message and some like myself will say I eventually got a ddd so it’s not always the same for every case. In the end I just use this website as a way to vent through the tax process, there’s some great people here and it helps just chatting with people for me but sometimes it can become overwhelming hearing things aren’t so positive. I wish I could give facts to you all waiting but since I can’t ill do my best to be supportive and helpful in areas I have knowledge.

I know it’s hard not to freak out when things occur that never have before and you don’t know what’s going on with your taxes but try to hang in. I hope all the best to all of you waiting!! 🙏😀

@Raven while yes some could be reviewed or have other things going on I’m not so sure STILL BEING PROCESSED means there’s 100% an issue. If so then mine had an issue and then was finally approved and that’s weird to me if so because I never had an bad codes or anything (of course bad codes might not show up though). You might be right and I’m not trying to shut down your side of things or come across rude but I don’t want people to start freaking out and I don’t think people should worry unless they get a letter from the irs or see a code on WMR or there transcripts that indicate an issue. Some returns are just taking longer, please to everyone waiting for progress don’t worry until you have a real reason to worry!!!

ALSO I’ve been told multiple times once it’s been 21 days since you’ve been accepted it’s normal to loose bars and get a message saying still being processed or whatever and it doesn’t mean there’s an issue!!!

Yes @appletreekid916 I had that message and finally got a ddd on 02/16 morning for 02/21. I filed 01/10, accepted 01/17.

@BroadStreetElite Agreed, I haven’t been audited but did get a letter that I owed one year due to forgetting to add a small w2 that I had and I got that letter later in the year and after I already got my refund that same year.

I’m not 100% certain if WMR is done updating for Wednesday could ddd but I believe WMR updates until 7am est today so there’s a chance, I have also seen some report on this websites main home page chat at https://igotmyrefund.com (scroll down to view chat messages) that they just got a ddd recently for 02/22 mostly. Someone on that chat (home page of this website) I’m sure could also better answer that but if I find out more I’ll post it here for you. :)

If you haven’t chatted their just go to this websites main home page and scroll down until you see where you type a message. A lot of people usually chat there throughout the day/night.

Ps. @just curious your actually pretty lucky you already have a ddd With filing on 02/12 and already having a DDD Of 02/22 although that’s how a smooth return processes normally (within 21 days). I filed 01/10 accepted 01/17 and just got a ddd for 02/21 and some are still waiting that good that filed quite some time ago. Normally my taxes are done within the 21 days too but this year quite different. Either way that’s awesome you got a ddd, I just hope everyone else that’s waiting gets their ddd too 😀

@just curious Congrats on the ddd and I’m not sure about the releasing late in February are you referring to people with path (EIC and ACTC or whatever it is), if so I don’t have the credits so I wouldn’t know about it. All I know is if you have a ddd then you should get it on that date (depending on your bank).

@emily I’m personally not sure what the difference is but if you don’t have any “bad” codes letting you know it’s being reviewed or something is wrong and haven’t got a letter from the irs I’d feel it’s just processing. WMR and this tax season is really just going really strange and is taking longer than past years.

I also got the your return is still being processed message along and about week later checked WMR got approved with a ddd (sat morning) so I guess mine was okay even with that message as well as many others that have had the same thing happen.

If you can view your transcripts online that could maybe provide you with more info and people on this site can help make sense of what things mean on the transcripts if you need help or try requesting them via mail. I’d say just try holding strong and hopefully everyone is okay 🙏

@alisen I’m sure your good and on the way getting a ddd especially if you don’t have any bad codes or messages on WMR and if you haven’t got a letter from the irs.

If you have the same thing happening keep in mind WMR can get really weird. I lost bars and got that still being processed message and lost tax topic 152, then I got back tax topic 152 but lost my refund amount on the left side of WMR and it said tax period ending December 31, 2018 so if you get things like that don’t worry things are just whacky this year (well at least to me). I think you’ll get some sort of progress/approval deposit date soon though!! 🙏😀

Ps. For everyone without a ddd and that has been waiting for their return to be processed Checking your online transcripts might be a better to check progress instead of WMR and the chat on this sites main page has many people that can help understand the transcript if you do access yours and need help. You all should get an update on WMR at some point though and hope that point is right around the corner!!

@beloul I don’t think anything is wrong with your return, returns are just taking longer to process, maybe because they got behind or something?… I think you’ll get an update within a week or so. Many that filed early like me 01/10, accepted 01/17 are just getting updates now and some are still waiting. Unless you see a bad code or get a letter I wouldn’t worry. I worried thinking something was wrong but everything wound up being fine it just took longer than any year I’ve ever filed in. Hang in there :)

@dee no they never said why my taxes took so long but I was finally approved this morning with a ddd of 02/21, some are saying it could be that some returns we’re flagged, reviewed, and then either approved or not but I’m not so sure about that. I think maybe I was resqeunced or something or things just took longer this year. 🤷🏻‍♀️

TO ALL: of you have lost bars or any of this weird stuff hang there unless you see a code saying you need to contact the irs or do something or you get a letter in the mail try to not worry. Everything should be okay if there’s no bad codes on WMR.

@dev that happened to me too first I lost my bars and tax topic152, then I got back 152 but lost my refund amount on the left of WMR and it said tax period ending: December 31, 2018. It’s happening to many I think your okay things are just really delayed and whacky. I hope you get a good update soon!

I’m also starting to think once you see tax period ending: December 31, 2018 on the left on WMR you’ll get an update soon after (within a couple days) I of course could be wrong and this also might not occur for everyone but I’ve seen that happen to a lot before getting approved results on WMR.

UPDATE: I just checked WMR (1:18 am pst 02/16) and I FINALLY got an update and now my bars back (2 bars now) and this message on WMR:

I know many of you are still waiting and I really did hope all the best to you all! 🙏 this year has been a crazy and my longest experience (I filed 01/10, accepted 01/17, went through the lost bars and the still being processed message which happened on 01/08/01/09 and didn’t change until now. I don’t consider my taxes complete until it hits my bank but I’m happy to finally see process!!!

@josh I agree one year we forgot a small w2 and our tax refund came with no issues but later in the year or summer we got a letter to pay it. So I don’t think there’s audits right now maybe some reviews but not audits. Mainly it seems things are delayed.

Because this year isn’t going how it might have in this past. I’m not part of the path side of things but I filed 01/10 accepted 01/17 (yes I know they didn’t officially open that day but I was accepted), I ordered both transcripts 01/23 but they were blank upon arrival in the mail, I then my one lost bar (all bars) and etc on 02/08 with still being processed message and have no bad codes or etc. I have had no new update since then.

For a look at why this year is different for me personally I filed on 01/09 last year got accepted 01/22, was approved 01/27/18 and got refund on 01/31/2018. This year is the only year that’s been taking much longer and having bars disappear but I understand maybe the irs is behind or something from the shutdown that occurred.

another reason I file early is because I don’t want some fraudster to file before me (hasn’t happened to me yet and hope nobody ever tries that with my taxes) so I usually file when I get my w2.

Sounds like your in the same boat @tmommy I really hope if we have been resequenced we don’t have to wait till March or whatever like some say might have happened. @charless Glenn I filed on 01/10 and was accepted 01/17 and am pretty sure that means I was in the early test batch (but who knows) but when my bars (was at one bar) disappeared and the message “your return is still being processed a refund date will be provided when available” came up I also lost my 152 tax topic but had no other codes or etc. on WMR. My refund amount and etc are still on the left. (I’m not in path or etc). Just letting you know I don’t see tax topic 152 even though I was in the test batch. My bars have been gone since 02/08 or 02/09 and haven’t came back yet. (I was able to order both transcripts on 01/23 but they were blank via mail) I’ve never had this happen.
