DD hit my bank 2/7/2020
I filed on February 1 and updated this morning to DDD of 2/21/2019. I have always received my DD early. How many days early does Wisconsin Deposit?
Last year I was accepted on January 29 and I didn’t get my state refund until March 15. I never received any letters and nothing was adjusted on my return. It was just a slow process. I do not think that the state processes returns over the weekend, but I am not positive on that. This year, I filed on February 1 and I am still at the 8-12 weeks stage.
People who are getting the DDD for Wisconsin may be the lucky ones that their employer electronically sends the W2 information to the state. My employer forgot to mail W2 information last year and it delayed by state return. Be patient, the DDD will hopefully come soon for all of us. :)
@ JJ: I think Wisconsin updates at midnight and I am not sure if they update over the weekend as the Department of Revenue is closed. Hang in there. I filed on the 29th and just got approved on Friday. Hopefully next week will be your week!! :)
I looks like a bunch of people who filed prior to the 31st were just recently processed. This may have to do with your employer submitting your wage information to them. They have to submit the wage information by the 31st of January. So if they were late or only submitted on the 31st, your return may have been just pushed back until they verify wages. If you haven’t received any letters, it is coming, just coming slower than usual.
Finally!! My return has been processed! DDD of 3/16! Wisconsin is being very careful to protect everyone’s identity and refund this year.
Is anyone who file on 1/29/2018 still waiting to be approved. My tax return is still processing and WDR said everything looks fine and to give it another couple weeks. Nothing has changed on my return. What is taking so long….
@desperatelywaiting: I am in the same boat. I was accepted on 1/29. No update for me yet.
@Catree31: I am in the same boat. No update for me. I was accepted on the 29th too.
My return was accepted on January 29th. I am still waiting for a DDD. They said everything is fine and I have no letters. I think my return is just stuck in processing somewhere.
Glad to see some movement for the people who were accepted the 29th and earlier. Still no update for me. This is the first year that I will have my federal return back before my state. :( I am not even going to check anymore. That way it will be a huge surprise when it gets deposited into my bank.
@manateej: I am so happy for you! I am still processing… 8-12 weeks… I talked with DOR yesterday and they said that it was finished just waiting. Who knows how long this will take. I was accepted on the 29th.
Did anyone waiting with the 8-12 week message update over the weekend?
Does the state update over the weekend?
Still nothing…. Same 8-12 processing message. My only guess is that They started processing my information on the 29th which was prior to my employer sending W2 information on the 31st. Therefore, it put it on hold and my return is just waiting to be looked at again to verify the information matched. Next year I am going to file my state after the 31st.
@ manateej: I hope not. I know my boss submitted all the yearly W2 withholding for everyone in the office on the 31st. I was accepted on the 29th. Maybe they just need to go back to the return and compare. The March 1st thing is what showed up on the FreeTaxUSA filing information. It is just a generic message. That could be the only thing that is going on with my return. When I talk the Department on Tuesday, we went through my whole return and the lady told me everything is fine and I should get my deposit within 2 weeks, one just wasn’t in the system yet. That is pretty close to March 1. Fingers crossed that it comes sooner.
Still no update for me. :( I am thinking the Department may have not processed my employers forms.
Under my Wisconsin tax return information on FreeTaxUSA is states the following:
To combat identity theft and fraud, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue may be delaying issuing income tax refunds until March 1, 2018, unless both the employer and employee have filed all required returns and forms. This means your Wisconsin tax refund might be delayed if your employer has not submitted their information to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. If you have further questions, please contact the Wisconsin Department of Revenue at 608-266-2486. The Wisconsin Department of Revenue requests that you wait 12 weeks after filing your tax return before contacting them about your refund.
No update for me yet. Filed and accepted on the 29th.
@Fozzybear That is a good theory. I talked with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue this morning because I was concerned that my federal return was not sent. I spoke with a very nice woman. She asked me a few questions about my return and told me she could see my wages from my employer and federal tax information. She said there were no red flags and that I should see movement soon but could take up to two weeks. So we shall see.
I have the same processing message this morning. Please allow 8-12 weeks… blah, blah, blah. I used FreeTaxUSA to file this year. I went to the pdf version of my tax return and I notice that a copy of my federal return is not attached. I bet this is the hold up as Wisconsin requires that a copy of the federal tax return is attached in order to be processed. I am going to try to call the Department of Revenue today. Hopefully I can just email my federal tax return to them.
Does anyone know if Wisconsin WMR updates overnight every night?
I file on the 29th and accepted on the 29th. I still have the generic message stating to allow 8 to 12 weeks for processing.
Finally… I woke up this morning to a state DDD, “Your return has been processed and your refund should be direct deposited into the account provided on your tax return by 02/11/2017”
@ mandyhasaband: I guess the 25th is unlucky! Hopefully it will update over the weekend.
@ mandyhasaband : I think they update overnight, but I am not for sure. I feel like a few years ago I checked in the morning once and my state was not approved, but then I checked again in the afternoon and it was.
It looks like you and I are in the same situation. accepted on the 25th.
I still have the same 8-12 weeks message this morning…
@ Jerry – there is a federal offset phone number that you can call and see if there will be any offsets taken. (800) 304-3107
Still have the same lame message this morning… :) Accepted 1/25, allow up to 12 weeks… Hopefully by the weekend there will be some movement. Nothing is different on my return this year. So I do not know what problem could exist, if any.
I still have the processing 8-12 weeks message… Maybe by the weekend it will change.
Anyone who got accepted on 1/25 have an update from Wisconsin? I know last year, my return was accepted and approved on the day of opening. Just curious if anyone accepted on the 25th have been approved yet
My Wisconsin was accepted on 1/20/2016 and on 1/21/2016 my return was complete. It says that my refund should be deposited by 1/27/2016. Wisconsin is moving really fast this year!
I was just able to pull my account transcript!
