I called the IRS today. They said they are sending me a notice 3/11… Taxes are being held for 60 days. May 10th would be the release date if they find nothing wrong. They are trying to verify income/tax credits/etc. Filed the same every year except retirement withdrawal. I did make sure to ask if there was any way I would get them before the 60 days and the guy said yes. He said it could come sooner but the 60 days is how long they have to review them. Not getting my hopes up.
Do you call the IRS and give them the 14-digit number? I received the Cp05 notification but no other movement

@amy the 14 digit number under 150 code is your 14digit number to id verify. So it’s the number people are waiting on to come in the mail/letter that take weeks to come
Can someone please explain what you are doing with the number that’s associated with code 150?
@mandie , yes call or do it on line with the 14 digit number under the 150 code . I did it this morning and it works 100% . Also have your 2023 1040 and 2022 1040 . That ask a few questions about them and that’s it .

-never got a date they mailed the letter, just logged into online account and saw the “verification letter sent” message

-transcripts have not yet updated, but historically I’ve been a weekly anyway. will update once my transcripts updateOk, so got my 5071c letter Saturday, 3/2. I filed since 1/29, so hopefully that gives everyone a timeline of expectation. The process itself online took like 2 mins.
Hello everyone I woke up this morning to an email notification saying i had a unread notification on my IRS account it was a message asking me to verify my RETURN FILED then last question was if i have received the id verify letter i answered NO then it said that one was getting mailed out today let’s see ,
FILED 01/17 ACCEPTED NEXT DAY CODE 570 AND 971I have something coming today too!! I can’t wait! It says Austin Texas which others have said that’s where it’s been coming from. Not making any calls until I find out if this is it or not. Mail runs in about 3 hours for me!
No letter, no notice online, nothing. It’s been almost four weeks. I can see the 14 digit number under code 150, which people are saying is the control # so maybe I should just call.
If you have received a dd without a transcript or wmr update please give us folks that are still waiting some hope! What did your wmr look like? Maybe there are some hints that that might happen. I’m grasping at straws here
Not the update I was hoping for everyone to get. Filed 1/28, accepted 1/29. I can for a fact prove nothing is wrong with my taxes. I still believe majority of the issues were due to the 401k withdrawal. Thats the only difference I had this year. My 971 code is dated 3/11/24. Guess thats when my “60 days” will start then…😒
Checked my informed delivery this AM and there IS a letter from IRS. Last time I got a letter from IRS it was a “Thank you for using IDme”, lol. I can only hope this one has my 14 digit code! Not getting my hopes up though.
My sons transcripts updated Saturday (yesterday) with a 846 code DDD of 3/7. Filed on 2/21. He had n/a on top two transcripts, bottom left had basically no info, and the bottom right said no return filed …mid afternoon yesterday. Then everything populated and now has a DDD. So, they DO update on Saturdays apparently.

as if date 3/18/24Update-Attempted another call this morning to make an appt and was advised she doesn’t show where i need to come into the office and the 12C-wages should have been my verification . I told her Identity verification but she doesn’t see where i need to do that and that 21 days from 2/23 but my letter says 6/8 weeks from date they received my faxes and that was 2/14 so i guess my faxes didn’t get touched until then. I am praying for an update this week i have never waited this long

Same here. Received CP05 letter online even though I was told it was mailed 2/14.
They read it to me on 2/20. Not sure why they waited to publish it. Wage transcripts still blank too even though SSA has the info. Guess I will just have to wait.My DDD is 3/7, got my 846 Friday. I’m banking with chime, so Hopefully I get mine today or tomorrow being that chime states taxes can be up to 5 days early.
I checked my account and found a CP05 notice.
“We’re holding your refund until we finish reviewing your tax return.”

Called on 2/20 and told this notice was mailed out on 2/14. They even read it to me. Don’t understand why they waited to publish it online until 3/4 if they had it showing in the system on 2/20. I still have not received anything in the mail.
Anyway, it does not tell me anything more than I already knew.Well my 570 was as of 2/26 and my 971 as of date was 3/4.,It’s been that for 3 weeks now. Today received an email notification that I had a notice available on the IRS. Cp05, waiting to verify some information and a 60 day review from the date of notice which is today, 3/4. So may will get in May sometime. Unreal!

How long did it take for them to let you know that you needed to verify? We filed on 2/15, accepted 2/16 and no movement on transcripts for us. Bottom 2 now say 2023 but no info on them. I’m wondering if we’re going to have to verify or if something else is going on.

We had in person verification at IRS office 2 hours away on 2/28. They said they released our return for processing and gave us the generic “9 weeks message but may be sooner.”
Anyone do this same process? If so? When should we expect to update and hopefully see a DDD?Depends on your bank. Most process tax refunds as soon as they get the transaction… if they sent it late on march first most likely see it Monday
570 clubbers I might have found away around this letter thing … on our regular site page I was confirmed by 1 person who already have verified with there letter . That the 14 digit code that we are waiting for are the same 14 numbers under the 150 code on your transcripts. I’m waiting on just a few more people to confirm before I try but I think this is our way around the letter and getting us back moving forward towards our refund 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🙏🏽
I’m assuming ours must be a w-2 verification?? Hubby and I filed and accepted on 2/17. We are always weekly. My wmr says still processing and hubbys says “is being processed “ with tax topic 152, still as of today. On both our id portals, under notifications it states we need to verify information before a 2023 tax return can be processed. No letters sent, no actions asked on wmr. Bottom two transcripts show woth as of date of 3/11, no return filed.
A Saturday/Sunday update would be likely if I were an 05. I’m an 02 (Tuesdays). But checked anyway and no movement.
So my husband pointed out to me something he seen on the news about a lot of postal agencies having issues and some even switching locations. Like the capital branches. And ours just happens to be one. We had a lady who lives about 30 minutes away mail something to us a few weeks ago and haven’t seen that either. Might actually be the post office fault. Although that’s still government crap!!
I guess that will have to be our next step if the “local” office rejects us again tomorrow. Although I’ll still check to see if this so called letter comes. Just stressing big time!

JUST updated to DD of 3/06 on WMR for injured spouse. Filed 2/3 accepted 2/5. Fingers crossed!
