Nope, mine says the same thing. For the past few years though, my return has shown up in my checking account before the MI WMR ever updates.
I was just combing through this MI forum trying to sleuth out how long it took my state taxes to get here last year. And then cross checking my checking account deposits, lol. We all turn into tax experts this time of year,
February 28, 2020 at 9:13 am in reply to: 🤞🤞🤞WMR next update 2/29/2020 POST UR UPDATES HERE!!!! #4385300Filed/accepted 1/29. EITC and all that. Was stuck on “still processing” with TT152 and my amount on the side. Transcripts n/a until this morning, when they updated to a DDD of 3/4. I totally think there is a big group of us early filers who just got resequenced. I hope you all update to a DDD too.
I have had the “still processing” with TT152 and amount on the side for a few weeks now. Transcripts were n/a this whole time, until this morning. I finally got the 846 with a DDD of 3/4. I filed/accepted on 1/29 and think there were just a bunch of us who got resequenced. I hope this makes some of you feel better, not knowing is an awful feeling.
Just checked and got a DDD for 2/26. It took them 14 days exactly from when I was accepted (2/8) to update with this info. Good luck to everyone, I hope yours shows up soon!
For what it’s worth, Michigan didn’t release the forms for claiming the home heating credit until Feb 6th. So even if you technically filed before then, the state didn’t start accepting any with that credit until the 6th. I wish that the tax preparers would just say that instead of some BS that they “pushed it through”. It was the same last year too, and my return only took 2 weeks from the day the state accepted them. They could be backed up, but it’s more likely that they have just started processing ours a few days ago.
I filed my MI return on the 6th and was accepted on the 8th this year. I’m hoping it’s the same for the rest of you guys!
Filed on 2/6 and was accepted 2/8 (today). Nothing on the Michigan WMR, but I didn’t really expect there to be anything yet, lol.
@jbishop1001: Absolutely, you may be right. I know that when I file, I do have to wait for the MI1040CR-7 (home heating credit page) to become available when I file. And last year that was Feb 6th, the day I filed. But I bet I was accepted that same day.
Just chiming in to say that every year for the last six or so years, I have gotten my MI refund about 2 weeks after I filed, and always before the website even said they had my return. I don’t go by the WMR on there any more.
Got a letter today that says they need an additional 60 days to review my info. Sent the 8862 with the correct box in and all that on May 20th. So now more waiting.
Talked to a super nice guy at the IRS. Turns out I did get the EITC, but didn’t check the box on my 8862 to reapply for the ACTC, which was why the amount was adjusted. So now I have to resubmit an 8862 with the ACTC box checked too. He said everything looked good and I qualified for it. Good to know that it was my screwup and not something on their end that may never get figured out. I will post when I hear anything about the ACTC in case anyone is also in this boat.
So, updated yesterday with a DDD of 5/1. Except the IRS took off the amount for EITC and said it was because they hadn’t gotten my 8862. Which of course they did, since they sent out my CP74…will call tomorrow and see WTF is up. At least part of it is moving along, but I can’t believe how screwed up this all is. I hope it doesn’t take forever for the rest of the funds to get released.
Update: Called the IRS today (the day my six weeks are up, and no return). Got a really nice lady who said that my CP74 was approved on Feb 25th and it would be nine weeks from that date. Not six weeks from the March 4th date on the notice. So who knows? She said it looked good and unless I got another letter to expect my refund by then.
Hope this helps…
Hello there. Just wanted to add to this, in case anyone else is in this situation…got my CP74 letter dated 3/4. So this would out my 6 weeks out at 4/15, which is this Monday. I did NOT update today with a DDD sadly, so I am going to assume that it is going to take longer than 6 weeks to get our refunds. Of course, there could always be something else wrong with my return, who knows? I would assume that the IRS would have sent something else by now if that were the case, but anything is possible this year.
I will call either Mon or Tues (probably Tues, since Mon is the day taxes are due and I bet it is going to be crazy on the phones) I’ll keep you all posted and let you know what I find out.
Just checked and the 9001 on my husband’s WMR is gone and he has one bar again! Fingers crossed…
Ugh, that sucks! We got the 1541 last year too, my ex husband was trying to claim our girls. We had to send in a bunch of info, but I think it only took like 3 weeks once the IRS got it all. I just hate waiting for a letter to be sent out, to see what’s actually going on (if anything). I hope yours gets resolved quickly, this is so stressful!
PS. We have the EIC and all those credits too, if that helps anyone.
Same boat as a lot of you…my fiancee claimed our son and my three daughters and this showed up. We’ve filed the same way for three years now, this is ridiculous. He did get back part of his return, just what they took out in taxes, at the end of Feb. Still waiting for the letter telling us what else to do, etc. Not sure what else to do but wait…
Sorry about that, my phone is acting up! Anyway, not sure if it hits tomorrow or Friday, but it is moving. Never updated in the WMR either. I filed 1/29, accepted 1/31.
Just checked my account, and the MI return AND the home heating credit are both pending. It says they expire on the 16th, so not sure if it will actually hit tomorrow or
@ndixson That would be even better than Friday! Last year it just showed up in my bank account, so I’m hoping for that.
@ndixson Me either. I’m hoping it just shows up by Friday…
No, it says right on the WMR that it updates once a day. But, like I said, it had never updated for me and my money just showed up in my account. So I don’t really pay attention to it. Mine was accepted but the WMR says they are still waiting for info.
Just checked mine, big fat nothing. But like I said earlier, last year it showed up without ever updating in the MI WMR. My guess, based on past years, is that we see a lot of 2/14 DDDs. Tomorrow would be even nicer, but I didn’t see anything pending in my account either.
Nothing yet for me either. I know last year it was 2 weeks to the day, from accepted to deposit. And the MI WMR never updated last year either, it just showed up. I’m really hoping for this Friday, I got accepted on the 31st too.
Filed Jan 26th, also accepted Jan 31. I can’t remember last year’s dates, but I remember the Michigan WMR not even updating and the $ just showing up in my account. Fingers crossed!
It’s been my experience that once it’s to the garnishment stage, you’re screwed. That sucks, I’ve been there.
Just wanted to say that I have gotten my MI taxes back already on 1/27/17. I filed on 1/10, and was accepted on 1/13. I was never able to see any updates on the state WMR, it was just in my account one day.
I filed on Jan 10th, accepted Jan 13th. Turbo Tax, if that helps.
I got my Michigan refund on 1/27. COmpletely shocked me, I was checking to see how much my paycheck was for and there it was. I had actually tried to check the status of the return that day, and received some error message on the site. I wasn’t expecting it for another month at least…I am still stuck on ! bar on WMR with EITC and all that, so I don’t think the delay affects Michigan yet.
