Close enough filed 2/21 accepted 2/22, both credits claimed…same as everyone else just didn’t want to deal with the hold and other BS…and I have a theory that early filers get pushed back now because of the hold. I’m hoping the irs schedule is right and we’ll have ours by 3/12…we shall see.
Yeah we filed on the 21st, accepted yesterday…we waited on purpose this year because last year was a big cluster cluck everyone who filed early was put under review, and people who filed later or on time got taxes quickly…so we decided to test a theory lol… we’ll see how it goes 😬
I’m the opposite my husband’s have been recorded but mine haven’t, and yes I got an 846 today. Honestly I was told to disregard the SSA website it sometimes takes a while to be recorded on there. No clue why my husbands are recorded and mine arent…I’m curious how long after my 846 will it take to be recorded 🤔…I think I might check once a week to test it.
My wages haven’t been recorded yet on SSA
Thanks I’m glad it’s almost over 🙄
@WiZzZ the 846 is the code ur looking for they are saying they are sending ur refund then…depending on the bank and what time they send it depends on when it hits ur account.
Completely agree with you @Heythere doesn’t seem like a review at all more like an account freeze until they get to us…my guess is the same thing is going to happen to late filers they get most of there refunds early and late they are prolly gonna fall behind then too.
I’ll also update tomorrow to say if my wmr updates or not
I’m hoping ur in the 3/11 update @Gofigure we literally have all the same info it would be so dumb if you aren’t.
Transcripts just updated to a 571, and 846…refund issued 3/11… filed 1/24, accepted 1/27…cycle code 20200705…both credits claimed…not saying everyone is going to update but I’m pretty confident that unless there is something wrong with ur refund these “reviews” are being lifted weekly.
If you don’t update Saturday then keep checking every Saturday…looks like unless something is wrong with your review they are releasing them in droves every week.
@ProudFatherOF1
Yeah I couldn’t order mine a week ago cause it didn’t recognize my phone number got a pin in the mail yesterday and now I can look at mine online…I think a lot of us are going to update Saturday and have green by 3/11.
@Gofigure
Son woke up early decided to check transcripts everyone says they update Friday mornings…571 resolved…846 refund issued 3/11…I think it’s over my friend I’m hoping the same for you wmr should update Saturday and I hope we have some green by 3/11.
@Gofigure
As of today I can officially access my transcripts online. All the same codes and dates as you. My last code was 971 for 3/9. Same cycle code and everything. Definitely hoping for some movement this weekend tired of having to deal with this. Ill check my transcripts in the morning. At this point any ddd will do so I don’t have to wonder anymore 🙄.
Still waiting…still no letter either.
I just don’t understand why they haven’t sent the letter yet that’s what’s the most aggravating thing to me…I’ve been told twice it was generated on 2/10 and takes up to 30 days to mail…that is an insane policy. I guess they still have a week to mail it lol.
@Annoyed101 i can’t access my transcripts either but they at least told me what code i was under when I called if they aren’t even giving you that you’d be a prime candidate for a tax advocate
@Melissa i get a different answer everytime i call as to the “why” but usually the same code and timeframe, i have yet to see my elusive letter to that was transcribed on 2/10 🙄I was told the 3/9 is similar to the PATH lift, that they would start processing it for release if no errors are found. I believe we are under review now. And it could take up to 45-60 days after the processing date if anything is found during the review, because every error causes you to recycle…now i don’t know how true any of this is like I’ve said in a few forums i get a different answer everytime i call lol.
Same story for me…i think we were all actually put under review but I do think it was just a cover in case they didn’t get to it in time. A lot of people under review got ddd of 3/4 so I think they are getting to us little by little. I really don’t think it’s going to take the full 60 days unless there is something wrong. My review started 2/10….no letter yet.
I get a different answer everytime i call so I just stopped calling. I honestly think the reps know as little as we do. It really seems completely random…it’s more they’ll get to us when they get to us…sucks but beyond my control. Just hoping for a ddd by the end of March.
I’m not even sure what i am…weekly or daily. I’ve gotten 1 update since 1/27 and that’s to path on the 15th then back to “received your return and it’s being processed” on the 16th…before that just accepted lol.
Are you getting any 570 codes or have they given you a processing date yet? If not definitely reach out to a tax advocate they might at least be able to get you some answers.
Actually she does have to help you that is what customer service reps are paid to do…service customers. That’s nuts…looks like I’m gonna have to start jotting down their id numbers when i call now sounds like they are getting testy. I haven’t gotten jerks yet mainly just people who have no clue…lots of “uh,uh,uh,uh…let me put you on a 5-7 min hold” lol.
@Gofigure will do…if i ever get the code of course
I’m waiting for a pin for my transcripts they couldn’t verify my phone number….I’m sure I’ll get that pin in time for next tax season lol…what’s funny is the last time I had a different phone number is about 8 years ago so that’s how long I haven’t had to worry about my taxes this is the first year trying for the transcripts in 8 years
@Gofigure
Seeing a lot of us left, on one end i know i have to stay on top of it on the other end i have so much other crap to do … I’m guessing they just haven’t gotten to us yet…or hoping is more like it lol.
It says on the website…faq i believe… that if its current year or last year that they probably haven’t been recorded it doesn’t mean it hasn’t been received, my husbands have been recorded mine haven’t i think my last employers mailed them vs. his who do everything electronically…I’m “being processed” I’m assuming if they needed income verification i would’ve been notified already but with this year you never know 🙄
I did too got Path on the 15th and went back to processing
My theory is us January filers are at the bottom of the pack… A lot of the ddd 3/4 seem to be early Feb filers some late Jan I think but a lot of early Feb we may be the next update
Yeah still on “received and it’s being processed” filed 1/24, accepted 1/27. Waiting on a pin in the mail to access transcripts. They said i have a processing date of 3/9. If i haven’t received a letter or an update by then then I’m going to get a TA too. No red flags have been detected and a letter has been transcribed on 2/10 but hasn’t been sent yet 🙄. People getting ddd give me hope though things are moving and most of them were in the same boat as us.
February 29, 2020 at 8:09 am in reply to: We have received your tax return and it is being processed #4386170Still no update on wmr for me, can’t access transcripts, and no letter yet. They told me I have a processing date of 3/9 so I wasn’t expecting anything today no red flags anytime I’ve called. You guys that updated give me hope that at least they are working on it…hoping for my refund mid to late March.
Yep under review they said my new processing date is 3/9 I’m going to call back if I don’t get a letter or update by then. Apparently a letter was transcribed on 2/10 but it can take up to 30 days to mail it 🙄…just told the review was random code 570. A lot of that going around this year. That check supplements my bills for the entire year It really sucks that it’s in limbo.
A lot of people who called early to mid February for a question or checking status said they were told their refund was in error status, they couldn’t pull up their information and to call back later and when they called back they were under review it makes me wonder if this was a tech issue.
Yeah I read they select a small percentage of early and late filers randomly for review every year. There are a ton of us this year though and Ive been told 3 different reasons why I was selected mostly just fancy ways of “I don’t know” lol. The IRS could avoid a lot of headache by releasing a statement on their website.
@MattB mine has been under review since 2/10 apparently they send the letter within 30 days of it being transcribed 🙄. I liked how they are using “looked at” with you they must’ve had a meeting to come up with adjectives for review lol. I wish you luck my hope is since there are so many of us it won’t take as long as they say…I know I’m a dreamer.
February 26, 2020 at 4:54 pm in reply to: Put the phones down, ladies and gentlemen! You’re not helping! #4382889Don’t tell thousands of people they are under review if they are not…just say we need more time.
February 26, 2020 at 4:53 pm in reply to: Put the phones down, ladies and gentlemen! You’re not helping! #4382883The problem for me is not the wait it’s the lack of information when you are put under review…if you are told not to call back until April or May because you are under “random review” and not told why just to wait…that makes no sense and makes people panicked and annoyed. If you are told we need more time to process returns under the PATH act because we are underfunded and understaffed then I’m cool with that.
@Elca that’s funny lol…Ask them if they are under review too lol 😂
February 26, 2020 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Put the phones down, ladies and gentlemen! You’re not helping! #4382729Maybe ur right the customer service reps are doing it all this year that’s why half of us are under review they all have their IRS manuals out in front of them and lose their spot when we call lol
@Elca
Lol anytime I would ask them any questions I would be put on a 5-7 minute hold…next time I’ll ask them the weather or there favorite color and see if the hold time is the same 🤔.
I’ve seen people max out there wmr checks before 7am and get ddd.
Exactly I feel like I’ve been patient and now I’m getting irritated I would feel a lot more patient if they were just up front about it and said “our system was overloaded, and we’re understaffed, we need more time.” I’ve called 3 times with 3 different answers they are treating us like idiots.
Yep I’ve tried to hint around to what it’s about to and they always say “it’s possible.” The customer service reps obviously don’t know and that 5-7 minute hold is probably them just playing solitaire on the computer lol. I would hate that job being yelled at all day long and not knowing what to say because my guess is they as little as we do just how to pull up transcribed and check wmr.
Agreed this is nuts. Was told today “a letter has been transcribed but takes 4 weeks to be mailed out” and there are thousands of people going through this it really seems like they are covering for something. It takes 4 weeks to print off a letter and put a stamp on it…so I asked what’s on the letter and she says “code 570 something to do with your credits, no red flags at this time” it’s like WTF been filing the same way for years and state was deposited in my account on the 12th.
Oh do I ever. First time I called they said I would get a letter this week, next time a called they said a letter was transcribed not sent and takes 4 weeks to be mailed. I need a few more days before I can call the IRS back or I’m gonna lose my mind lol.
I made an ssa account and my wages haven’t been reported yet…if that becomes an issue then I will call ssa and see what I can do to speed up the process…you said your wages were reported but incorrect there is a number on the ssa if the wages were reported incorrectly…it’s definitely worth a try. My code for my review is 570… IRS said it was a random review to look over my credits more closely…the same credits I’ve claimed for years 🙄.
I got my state (Mi.) too with 0 issues…it’s such BS.
I really wish I could give you good news here but like the previous post stated there are thousands of us. Make sure you respond to any discrepancies, id checks, etc found during the review promptly to keep it moving a long. Check you mail and wmr daily and I’m planning on calling the IRS once a week too. As far as your personal situation do a ton of research and see if there are any type of hardship grants/loans you qualify for. I wish you luck…this sucks.
I was told yesterday that the code 570 is for the credits you claimed they are looking over them more closely. And to check wmr daily and respond to any instructions mailed or posted to you promptly to make sure the process moves along. What I got out of this is that if no red flags show up during your review you will be processed for release after your processed date mine is 3/9…hoping for a refund by the end of March.
I’m guessing if they don’t find anything during the review (and I have no red flags yet) I’ll be processed for release after 3/9…was told it’s a random review, a lot of that going around… definitely call if you haven’t already.
Same boat called and under review. They said a letter was made on 2/10 and it takes up to 20 days to mail it to me. I have a code 570 and the IRS rep said that is for the credits we claimed so they are looking over those and may take up to 60 days after my processing date which is now 3/9.
Definitely agree there is something up, a friend of mine said there is something on Facebook (I don’t have Facebook) that has a poll with 20K people and counting that are under review, think of the people that aren’t on Facebook that are under review too…I personally think they screwed up something and this review thing is to cover their butts.
I’m under review too… IRS rep said the 60 days is a generic timeframe that as long as there is nothing wrong and we respond to any inquiries that come up it may go quicker. I’m code 570 randomly plucked review they are looking over my credits… the same credits I’ve claimed for 6 years 🙄. Doing some research on these random reviews…they do target the poor and early and late filers… especially those claiming both credits.
I’m under review too…I personally don’t think it’s going to take the full 60 days because of the massive amount of people who are under review this year. The IRS does randomly review every year but it never has been anything like this.
What’s unusual to me is the amount that have been pulled it’s pretty much half the website and we are only a small portion of filers…that gives me hope that the review won’t take as long as they say otherwise they would be reviewing refunds until next year.
I get what your saying but there doesn’t have to be any errors to review it’s random selection…they do a percentage every year… Called TaxAct (been using them for 12 years) they said the same thing any errors results In a rejected return And we’d have to fix it then it wouldn’t go through..they said just like the IRS id just have to wait it out.
I think we’ve all gotten lucky in the past…from what I read doing research IRS does a random selection for review every year…almost seems like getting selected for jury duty…you look at past forums and sure enough same issue just seems more extensive this year…been filing the same way for years too…first time for review…I’m checking my refund for mistakes all day lady on the phone said if they find anything during the review it will take longer.
@Lovebunny I’m thinking of getting one after my processing date 3/9 to try and make sure it doesn’t take 45-60 days…I don’t think they can do anything about the processing date change.
…so I’m gonna be prepared when I get that letter…fyi lady on the phone said they’re sending mine out this week…sent out some last week…sending out more next week….so call at least you’ll know and be prepared.
Definitely call if your in this boat. My friend kept bugging me to call because she was under review…I thought she was being paranoid because I’ve gotten a deposit in the past without being updated but I called anyway to humor her and I’m under review too… completely annoyed and had a panic attack but at least I know now and have been going over my return all morning for mistakes, looking up info on a tax advocate…
** correction refund is 3K less this year
Filed: 1/24
Accepted: 1/27
Updated to PATH: 2/15
Updated to “being processed” 2/16 never go the “still being processed” assume they both mean the same thing.
Can’t access my transcripts yet.
IRS said my processing date is 3/9 and it could take 45 days after for any updates to call back by April 24th if I haven’t heard anything.
No major changes…refund is 5K less this year, state was deposited in my account on the 12th.Agreed very weird I’ve asked people that I know if they have updated and it seems like 1 outta 3 were plucked for review same boat as me filed the same way for years.
Yep same under review…I was told 45 days after 3/9…I’ll prolly just count on the 60 days though…it really makes no sense…state deposited to my account on the 12th no issues…all info has been the same for years…only thing I noticed is we’re getting 3k less then usual…I assumed the IRS would like that though lol. It is BS.
Called…under review….said processing date is 3/9 and can take up to 45 days after she told me to call back April 24th if I haven’t received any new updates…no red flags as of yet but said to go through my refund and make sure everything is correct…my state refund was deposited on 2/12…makes no sense.
Everything matches up with me too been going over my return all morning…I’ve had the same bank for 12 years, claimed the same kids that I’ve birthed for 10 years, lived at the same address for 5 years, husband had the same job for 6 years, I worked part time for the full year…that’s the only difference…and the fact that we received 3000 less then last year
Curious any of you being reviewed receive your state refund? Mine was dd in my account on the 12th I’m assuming if there were issues that would be flagged too…which makes me think more and more that this is all random.
I’m not sure if it’s because they can’t verify my wages, it was one of the common reasons for review…she said usually it’s random.
From my understanding of what she was trying to tell me is that I will be processed on 3/9 for release only if they are done with the review and no errors are found and from people on here that were processed on 2/17 got ddd a week later…so I’m guessing if all goes well I’ll get a ddd a week after the 9th…but they have to add the 45-60 days for amended returns or discrepancies.
I looked up the completely random part and sure enough the IRS does randomly pull a small percentage of people for review every year…and since they are putting you under the microscope everything better be correct or you will be delayed… From what I’m reading it’s like a random inspection and people go through it every year…what’s next jury duty 🙄
@Jeremy i wouldn’t think so I think that is why she kept saying to make sure there are no mistakes…I don’t know if mine is a wage verification she just threw that out there as a possible reason but said for the most part it’s completly random.
They said to call if I haven’t received an update by the 45 days…she said to think of the 3/9 like another PATH lift that it won’t start processing until then. And she said to check back daily for updates because any flags will be noted on where’s my refund…she also said go over your refund with a fine tooth comb now. As of now no red flags on mine but that could change. My guess is “processing” means processing for release because she says that they are looking it over daily.
Your processing date was changed to 3/9 like mine…the letter will probably be mailed out this week is what I’ve been told when I called, and she said up to 45 days after 3/9 and if I haven’t received it by April 24th to call back. We originally had a processing date of 2/17 and it got changed to 3/9 when we went under review.
Never bothered with transcripts, never needed them just tried and couldn’t verify my number will receive something 5-10 days. But the processing date has been changed to 3/9… My guess and this is a guess is in 2018 I only worked 5 months (was a stay at home mom before), last year I worked the full year and probably got flagged it’s the first year we made it over 50K…isn’t that sad you make it over 50K for the first time and get flagged…how dare we.
And my state was deposited in my account on the 12th.
