Sorry but that isn’t true. Even though they posted that in their FAQs, the availability of transcripts does mean your return is processed, or refund issued. I used the online version of transcripts last year and it does tell you when you’ll get your refund. If you read the descriptions on the different types of transcripts it says what they include in them. Refund amount is one of the lines. This has been proven even this year without being able to see what the transcripts says.

Also, you can google the IRS Manual, which is what IRS agents use to do their job. It has very detailed information on refunds, transcripts, and pretty much every topic that is discussed on this forum.

@Lora hubbard: We’d need more information, such as your filing and acceptance (not approval) dates in order to help determine what is going on. Ultimately, everyone has unique cases, but for instance, you’d filed in the first two weeks of January, it probably means it’s going to update your status and you should look for a status change by Tuesday morning. No guarantees, but it seems to be the common theme.

If WMR says TAKE ACTION topic 151 n I have an offset, does this mean that my refund is done processing? Offset hotline does not state any amount just yet. Will the refund still have ddd minus the offset?

Hey I am know eventually it will come. However my landlord decided to stop paying her mortgage, so 3 weeks ago I got a notice that the bank is taking it back and less than a week ago I came home to a Sheriff’s Sale notice stapled to the house. So yeah I am a little anxious to get this return as I can’t wait for someone to tell me I have to move, especially since by OHIO law I still am legally obligated to pay rent to the landlord.

@steve34 it’s possible to get a deposit on a weekend with netspend. I’ve gotten my refund on Sunday night @ 10:30pm several times in the past. One of their deposit times is 10:30pm Sunday and I’m looking for it to deposit again in a few hours.

i, again, understand why people are looking forward to their return, but people need to keep things in perspective: We have been spoiled by technology. Not too many years ago, people would have to wait til somewhere closer to the middle of the year to even see a tax return. We all should even be grateful that we can even look at our status, or that we see most returns back in a month. That’s amazing considering how slow the IRS has always been about things.

I filed 1/18 with TT and accepted 1/19 can order account transcripts but not return, since Thursday 1/28 no updates on WMR still can’t order return transcripts.

My BF’s I filed on H&R Block the 1/11 and accepted on 1/12. Could not access his transcripts with his old address or new address, so never was able to order transcripts for him. He updated 1/30 with a DDD of 2/3.

Now my son’s I filed taxes for him, first time filing as he is 17 and worked a little last yr. I filed his through TT on 1/25 accepted 1/25 and his is being mailed. WMR updated when not sure, just checked his for giggles, and it said his check would be mailed the latest 2/5.

So I am just wondering what the hell happened to mine lol

@Crystal: Yeah, for this week anyway, I don’t think they’ll update for sun/mon (because they update for the preceding day, so saturday is the last day they update for the weekdays). Just keep an eye out, but don’t make yourself crazy over it. ^^

Transcripts mean absolutely nothing. Sorry to burst bubbles there lol. You can check on the transcript FAQ, it can take up to 21 days for your transcript to be available if you filed electronically and much longer if you did a mailed return.

With that being said:
Filed 1-25, accepted same day.
Still only 1 bar.
I am hoping this Wednesday or Friday.

Only thing I’m getting is no bars and tax topic 152…which i heard was bad news…but that is what people have told me…BUT I WAS able to order my account transcripts yesterday at 12pm or earlier. so maybe there is a way out of this tunnel yet. :)

It does not mean that you are under review 2 years ago I got that same message about a date will be given when one is available because one of the forms the IRS had not finished updating it did not take all summer it only took an extra week to get my return if they are going to offset your return they will tell you if more information is needed they will tell you on where is my refund

@King: I have never filed using Turbo Tax, I always just use FreeTaxUSA. So it has nothing to do with that. Wish that were the reason so I wouldn’t have to go through this absolute BS, again this year.

Gina is right, you are at the mercy of the IRS, they do what they want when they want. That said, the main commonality seems to be dependent related issues for those who are put through the longer nightmare. I don’t know anything for sure, but reasonably confident those that have this who do NOT have issues with dependents are the ones likely to get their refunds 6 weeks after verifying ID and info. Unfortunately, I am just as confident I won’t see a cent until May or June.

What angers me is I’m honest, my ex causes this crap and you’d think that continues pattern would result in punishing him, not the innocent party. But, it’s the IRS, so they don’t give a d@MN about that apparently. Still hopING to be wrong this year, but don’t think I will be. :(

Thanks for the info my bars on WMR disappeared last night and I have only been able to have my account transcript mailed to me. Not only that but I filed with Taxact Republic Bank does not show any info of a return pending or expected deposit date.

It’s not always a debt, it just means something was flagged on ur return, it can be for a number of reasons. Some ppl have to prove their wages, some forgot to sign something, sometimes it’s house credit, edu credits. It can be a number of things,

@Kellie Thomas: For reference, I’d filed 01/06, was accepted 01/12, was unable to login on 01/29 late at night due to technical difficulties (which I presume meant they were updating), was able to order both transcripts (account and return) for 2015 and then received a DDD of 02/03 on 01/30.

That being said, on the same night I’d received my DDD update, many people who said their bars disappeared, reappeared later with a DDD update. Not everyone, mind you, the others seemed up to update with issues that required resolving, but most did receive a DDD update soon after the bars disappeared for them. Hope that helps.

@Crystal: In the past years (3), I have read that people have both received updates as well as their direct deposits on the weekend (both Saturday and Sunday). However, today seemed to be an exception that, as there was no known update nor any known DD’s today. Perhaps they are still trying to catch up on their side before they do updates 7 days a week. Who knows, ultimately. All we can do is hope.

Your not the first person I’ve seen HRB give a 21 day estimate to. Their just saying that more than likely will have your refund by that date. Based on the time its taking most people to get their refund, im assuming that it wont take that long. Just keep checking WMR, it typically will be the most accurate.

I’ll never understand why people will search a thread that does not pertain to them. I think most 2/3’s have been waiting at minimum since the 11th (me personally filed 7th, rejected 11th, accepted 13th) not to discredit but I think at this point we (2/3’s) are all excited and entitled to be, whether in need or not. I’ve not noticed any early filers telling others to just chill.

Per early deposits, I’ve read the irs sends funds two days before the “by” date. It would be up to you bank to release. Also if receiving through SBBT TPG they apparently update or open at 11:30am. So I think most of us will be happy Monday, the 1st. I use serve but this is their first year claiming two days earlier, and since I use a bank for dd Idk how long they take. I am curious for future reference.

I filed 1-20-16 accepted same day with TT… I can order account transcript not return I’ve lived same house claim same kids. I only have one bar on WMR I have always received a refund on a Friday. Last year I got on the 30th but my DDD WAS 2/3 I don’t know why it’s taking so long this year. I’m nervous I was audited 2 years ago longest process ever. I have always said there is one in every crowd and there you are!!! Why is it that there has to be one person that has to say, “Well if you just budgeted better you wouldn’t be waiting and worrying over your refund.” Some of us do this to keep ourselves from going nuts. @Finalcountdown: I would be of the tendency to agree. Can you imagine what would happen and how vicious people would be if they cut off our returns altogether, or cut off benefits? Holy moly. Believe me, I fully empathize with how upset / angry / afraid people are over why they might need the money and being worried about when the money shows up, but goof grief, we all know how over complicated the government makes EVERYTHING, year round, even when it isn’t tax season. Look at the DMV, perfect example. We cannot and should not rely on anything they say. Until the money is physically there, in your hands, assume it never will be. “Hope for the best, expect the worst”, it will help you stress far less. (Coming from someone who bawled her eyes out when she realized they’d reject her DDD over a silly reason).

Believe me, I know how it feels to be scared about it, guys. Just relax, try to pace yourself, and help anyone else you can. The money will more than likely be here. Just give it time.
