Filed on 2/21, got a 4464c letter on 3/5, and now it’s been 70 days. No way to contact them, which means no way to resolve this. I was told by a different department that the accounts management dept that handles income verifications is still shut down, with not a single employee handling cases. Why can’t these be handled but identity verifications can? It’s sensitive information either way…
I also asked her about why I keep getting “A condition has been identified that is preventing your access to IRS online services. You will not be able to use this service. Please click “Continue” to view alternatives”. She is also unable to help with that. So here we are again, no access to online services, no access to transcripts, no access to live help, which means no refund. Day 65.
I filed on 2/21, 4464C letter on 3/5. I tried calling a number I had received on previous year notices on 5/4. surprisingly the 4883C phone number works. doesn’t solve my problem though. The lady on the phone told me that my case has to be handled by the accounts management department, and their phone numbers are not available at this time. I get the feeling she (and her department) are receiving a lot of unrelated phone calls, as she seemed agitated.
Filed on 2/21, letter on 3/5, which means 60 days passed on 5/5. Tried calling a number I got from a 4883c letter, and that lady was rude and irritated and was unable to help. She said my 4464c has to be handled by the Accounts mgmt department, which is not open for calls. So now what?!
Well I did get my stimulus check, but still no-go on the refund. As of Tuesday 5/5 I’ll be at 60 days. I also never got a paper copy of my transcript, so I still don’t know what the hold up is.
Ok I did get my stimulus today, so thankfully it wasn’t held up. Thank you Thicls for your response.
This doesn’t solve the 4464C issue, but it at least solved the repo man taking my car problem.
