I wonder if certain posters who purposely posted false information to panic others at the beginning of this thread will come back and apologize? I’m guessing not. I still don’t know what kind of person would purposely try and scare people like that. Terrible.
No transcript update, no WMR update here in Ohio.
Have any of you taken the time to just LOOK at the IRS manuals? It should be required reading for anyone having trouble falling asleep. That we had a poster actually willing to read through a fraction of that crap and report her interpretation is mind blowing. But no, people are giving her crap over it. It’s truly sad.

I never got a path message at any point either. I’ve always had the tax topic 152 to go with my one bar, and then my still processing message.
Lol…Tammy! If that’s the case, we’re all getting letters! 🤣
@Taji
That is not necessarily the case. They may have been selected to ID Verify, however, the message in of itself does not mean that. What it means, simply , is that the IRS cannot guarantee you will receive your refund prior to your 21 days being up. If you still have tax topic 152 in your WMR message instead of a notice of something coming, and/or no codes in your Account Transcript, things are still fine….until you hear differently.
@Kallie
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, there’s no cycle date code on my current transcript. It’s essentially blank…just a tracking number, zeroes, our names and an as of March 2, 2020.
@Kallie
I’m not sure what info you would need from me to guide me as to where I’m at in the process.
I filed and was accepted on 2/3
My WMR bar disappeared on Friday and was replaced with the “still being processed” message and tax topic 152.
My account transcript also appeared but has nothing but zeroes on it. It does say “As of March 2, 2020” on it though.What do you think?
I thought the WMR didn’t update until between 3:30am-6:00am?
If there was something wrong it would be included in your WMR message instead of tax topic 152. There would also be a code in your transcripts.
FWIW, I have the “still being processed” message with topic 152 underneath, and blank wage and account transcripts…though my account transcript says 3/2/2020 on it for some reason. No codes of any kind.
You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. Sorry I prevented you from needlessly scaring people. That’s cruel.
If it meant an error, all of us who had this message would have had to fix it in years past. This is not the case. You are simply wrong. Sorry if me pointing it out bothers you.
He said the same thing as I did, that it could mean something and it could mean nothing. You said that a message of still processing means that you need to ID verify or you’re getting a notice. This may or not be the case at all. Again, I had the same message last year and it meant nothing…as it did for most others. You’re spreading bad information.
For most people it means nothing at all. I had the exact same message last year for about 5 days, then I had my one bar back, then soon got two bars and a DDD. Personally I think it means things are moving along. I know for some they get a notice from the IRS, but the message in of itself on WMR is not indicative of that at all.
Still processing does NOT necessarily mean ID Verify. Stop passing on bad information.
Again, I had this happen to me last year. Bar disappears, I get the still processing message…in my case my return amount disappeared as well, then a few days later the bar returns. Maybe a few days later I went to two bars and a DDD date. I really do believe it just means that your return has gone into the hopper to be processed and things are starting to move. Don’t worry until you get a message telling you to worry. :-)
Prior to today I had just a blank wage & income transcript. Today they added a blank account transcript to the still blank wage & income transcript, and my WMR bar disappeared. What does that mean?
FWIW, I had this happen to me last year toward the end of my wait for my refund. I think it just means things are now moving along. I wasn’t asked to provide any info, and a couple days later I returned to one bar, then maybe a day later two bars. So I wouldn’t take it as a sign of anything to worry about until there’s something to worry about. :-)
And today I lost my bars so I’m guessing it’s just kicked along.
I filed and was accepted on both federal and Ohio on 2/3/20, received my Ohio return in the bank today. Still nothing from federal.
