Just an update finally got a response on my KS state refund after 8 weeks of waiting we posted on their fb page and someone finally called us back. All we did was verify our info and he said that they are back logged but he went ahead and real eased our money we just had to wait 3-5 days for it to post. That was Tuesday today is Friday and the wmr site said it released yesterday to wait 5-7 days for deposit. Finally a change :) good luck everyone!

Fist time that I’ve had to file injured spouse. The wait is over finally Over. 9 weeks.
                Filed electronically 1/28/2014
                Accepted 1/29/2014
Received Letter from the IRS 4/8 in the mail dated 4/8 that I inquired about something 2/6/14, but I did not. I tried to call IRS a week ago, but couldn’t get through. Stated the refund would be processed in 3 weeks and that I would get full amount. (all of the income was mine).
Today received paper check in the mail 4/10, check was dated 4/7.

                    Update***

I had filed with taxact and it said that my taxes were accepted 2/5/14, so I have been checking periodically on the status and had received the same message every time. On 4/4/14 when trying to sign on to TAP I must have typed in the wrong information so it locked me out and it gave me a number to call to talk to someone to unlock me. While on the phone with the lady I asked her if she could tell me why has it taken so long and she gave me the same old spill about you have been selected for review, blah blah blah it may take up to 90 days to process. Well later on that day I called the automated number and it says your refund was processed on 4/4 please allow 4-8 weeks for a check and 7-10 days for direct deposit. Today, 4/10 I received a text message that says your state refund has been sent to your account and should be available within 1-5 days. So I’m not sure if it was because I called or it was a coincidence that it happened to be processed the same day I called.

I am one of those 2nd refund hunters I am guessing ? My Ex filed single, and got the letter that his refund was intercepted for child support… same as last year. But the money has not been sent to me ? The IRS has noted that they have a hold on the funds for review of fraudulent claims, any idea of how long or if any one has received their money yet ? I got the money pretty quickly last year, and now all this fraud stuff, but his is legit ?!! So frustrating !! Is anyone expecting money from child support and not received it yet, but the father has already received the letter stating their refund went to child support ?

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully your check will get cut tomorrow. I would like to say I do t think it will be 5 weeks, but then again it is the IRS. Good luck! I’m still waiting for some kind of update!

well here is my update I got screwed by my bank they rejected my refund because my husband’s name was not on my account. So now I have to wait to recieve a paper check. Seriously I hate this and the IRS says it could be up to 5 weeks to recieve it. This is such bull the bank assured me everthing was good to go monady and they could see the pending deposit. They lied. I hate this maybe next year I just file as head of household and be done with all this.

I e-filed my taxes via TaxAct and it shows them being received on 02/05/14. Ever since that date I’ve been receiving the same message that my taxes are being processed/reviewed. I have sent an email via the Mississippi website contact form and received a “canned” response about the 90 days. Could my return be one of the TaxAct glitches? If so what number do I need to call and what information will I need? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This has been happening for the last two years with my childs father. He is not suppose to get a refund but somehow he is still getting his refund. When I call to ask questions no one knows the answers.

@truleeblessed, Thank you… I was assuming the same, but thought it was strange that no where on the trans does it say anything about my return being filed in February, but it is the IRS and they have their own way of doing things…hoping soon, My husband has been laid off since December 13 and we could really use this money. My state refund was offset too, they sent an IS form to me to fill out but I decided to let them keep it since it was a small amount, They said funds would be released after 21 days if they did not receive the form I probably would have been better off sending it in. It has been 50 days….called state last friday and they told me that I would cycle on Weds (today) I would be happy with just the state return for now, it would at least hold us over for a little while.

Ten Facts about Amended Tax Returns

Source: – IRS Tax Tips Issue Number 2014-51

Did you discover that you made a mistake after you filed your federal tax return? You can make it right by filing an amended tax return. Here are the top ten things to know about filing an amended tax return.

                                        1. Use Form 1040X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, to correct errors on your tax return. You must file an amended return on paper. It can’t be e-filed.

                                        2. You usually should file an amended tax return if you made an error claiming your filing status, income, deductions or credits on your original return.

                                        3. You normally don’t need to file an amended return to correct math errors. The IRS will automatically make those changes for you. Also, do not file an amended return because you forgot to attach tax forms, such as a W-2 or schedule. The IRS will usually send you a request for those.

                                        4. You usually have three years from the date you filed your original tax return to file Form 1040X to claim a refund. You can file it within two years from the date you paid the tax, if that date is later. That means the last day for most people to file a 2010 claim for a refund is April 15, 2014. See the 1040X instructions for special rules that apply to certain claims.

                                        5. If you are amending more than one tax return, prepare a 1040X for each year. You should mail each year in separate envelopes. Note the tax year of the return you are amending at the top of Form 1040X. Check the form’s instructions for where to mail your return.

                                        6. If you use other IRS forms or schedules to make changes, make sure to attach them to your Form 1040X.

                                        7. If you are due a refund from your original return, wait to receive that refund before filing Form 1040X to claim an additional refund. Amended returns take up to 12 weeks to process. You may spend your original refund while you wait for any additional refund.

                                        8. If you owe more tax, file your Form 1040X and pay the tax as soon as possible. This will reduce any interest and penalties.

                                        9. You can track the status of your amended tax return three weeks after you file with ‘Where’s My Amended Return?’ This tool is available on IRS.gov or by phone at 866-464-2050. It’s available in English and in Spanish. The tool can track the status of an amended return for the current year and up to three years back.

                                        10. To use ‘Where’s My Amended Return?’ enter your taxpayer identification number, which is usually your Social Security number. You will also need your date of birth and zip code. If you have filed amended returns for multiple years, select each year one by one.

Ok guys I have answers! I finally got someone on the phone at the State DOR to help me. Apparently, if you efiled with TaxAct this year, there is a glitch in the system and while it sent your return to the state, the states computers are just holding it instead of processing it. It didn’t do it to everyone she said and they’re only able to catch those who call. All she had to do was hit a button and now mine is processing right after sitting there since 2/5. I called the automated number this morning and there is finally a change in my refund status. Hope this helps you!

I’m sure those that were supposed to be offset, but still got their full refund instead of paying child support arrearages are jumping online to discuss. These are indeed the parents who have fallen behind in their obligation.

And I checked with the bank and they show the pending deposit. I can’t express how happy I am that this is all coming to an end. I wish you all the best of luck and hope you all hear something soon.

I efiled everything via TurboTax on 2/19 and it was accepted that same day. However when I check my IRS transcript it says the return was filed 3/17. Here are my current codes: 150 – 3/17, 570 – 3/17. It has no updates or changes for at least 3 weeks. Does this mean I should go by the 3/17 date for when to expect my return, or 2/19? Thanks for any help!

We are desperately awaiting our Return Transcript so that we can close on our mortgage in three weeks! Has anyone seen this message? I’m trying to be hopeful that at least it shows some sort of progress.

I think I’m going to be one of those ones, that the IRS will stretch out to the last day of the 11 weeks. Nothing yet, not even a 846. Guess I’ll check tomorrow after work. Seeing that a lot of you guys are getting DDD’s makes me hopeful that there is an end to this madness. True though, the site is pretty quiet this weekend. By the way I don’t like what they have done to the sight, it just seems a little weird to me. Well goodnite all, have a early day tomorrow, so got to get some ZZZZZZ’s.

WMR never updated from the “still processing” message. I have been checking everyday and nothing never updated UNTIL yesterday. my transcripts says my account was completed 3/28 and my return issued is for 4/21. I checked WMR and it says my refund will be deposited on 4/9. The debt is mine and my husband is the only income. I do live in a community property. I got the debt before we were married so I’m assuming this is why we are receiving all of our return back. Finally happy because we really needed this money. I have been getting on this forum everyday to read these updates. Alot of them gave me hope and was very relieved that I wasn’t the only one waiting. Hope I gave you all that are still waiting a little hope.

But I have seen a few on here with no trans or wmr update that got DD or check. So I still have a glimmer of hope for this week, but at least I hope its getting closer, not just stuck in IRS space. F/A 1/31 stuck on 570 2/24 as of still 3/31. Tired of waiting, but hoping for better than last year, it was May before I got anything last year. Hubby is self employed auto interior restoration, so maybe schedule C slows things down some too. Oh well.KEEP THE FAITH!!

So, I talked to a nice lady on Thursday to see what was happening with my return. I efiled early, it was offset so I amended with an IS to recoup my refund. It was received 2/18, adjusted on 3/14 and now it has moved to completed on 4/4.. Still haven’t gotten a notice explaining what the adjustment was exactly.. And the irs lady said that I’ll know something within 2-3 weeks.. Really just hoping that the movement to completed means that they cut and sent me a check yesterday. I’m not in a community property and I’m the only income so hoping for the best!

SOMEONE is responsible for this but all I can find so far is blame shifting. Each agency says it was the other’s fault. This is very frustrating and SOMEONE needs to be held accountable and make it right. End rant. (For now)

Which leaves another group of people (expecting to receive said intercepted funds), who didn’t get that lump sum that they anticipate around this time of year. Wondering who screwed up. The IRS? The Child Support offices who submit the offset? Or Treasury? Something went wrong.

I guess I need to forget about the refund and just wait til it deposits ( hopefully yet sometime in 2014…..lol). Two weeks ago they told me that my account had closed and it should only take a three weeks from the close date to receive my refund now today when I called they stated that my taxes are still processing and it would be up to another 4 weeks. How frustrating and for all of us who filed IS I also think that Where’s my refund tool is a joke and you could spend half of your life locked out of the oh so temperamental transcript site. Thank goodness this is my last year doing this. Hope all of you are having better luck!!!!

I filed 3/4, IS form received 3/10, and everything updated today to show reversal of debt paid and refund sent to me, but it shows the whole amount and I should be getting back less than that.

“My child’s father’s refund was scheduled to be offset for arrearages. Somehow, he still got his refund. Domestic relations caught it and scheduled him for a contempt hearing, stating that he had to pay it back. Now, three days before the hearing, they call me and say that because he has been making his regular monthly payments (he owes over $11,000 in arrearages). How is this possible and has it happened to anyone else?”

I look on the Where’s My Refund tool and all it continues to say is that it was accepted on 2/9 and that my refund is still being processed.

We filed in early Feb and had no idea that there was going to be an offset. Received DD date and WMR went from the return amount to zero on that day. We called frantically and found out about the offset. Sent in IS form after that. Have been checking transcripts everyday, no IS form received but 3/3 date refund was sent to Non-Irs Debt (Wife’s Student Loans). Finally today the IS form shows received on 3/4. Does anyone know what happens at this point?

Cased closed last Tuesday and updated lastnight to 846 4-21 so hopefully I will get my deposit Wednesday or sooner. WMR still has not updated but I will post tomorrow if it does. I can not say how happy I am that the end is near but good grief. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope to see everyone posting about updates.

The last four digits are the year the next two like mine was 08 stands for the week of the year which would have been the last week of February and the last two numbers are the days of the week in IRS land which 01 is Friday 02 is Monday and so forth. Basically I have realized that we are all at the mercy of the IRS and since it is the IRS there is very little we can do about it. It is week 8 for me and my case has been closed since the 25th of last month but still no updates and the lady said it shouldn’t be more than three weeks but do any of them really know what they are talking about or do they get bored and make stuff up? It is hard waiting especially when you have bills to pay. Sorry wish I had a better attitude. Clearly it is taking much longer this year! Good luck to everyone!!

This is the first time I HAVE FILED SINCE 2009 because of the injured spouse issue. We claimed two dependents this year and filed the injured spouse form with tax act , since turbo tax did not have the form ready when we where ready to file. My wife made most of the income last year around 30,000 and me I made some where around 2,000 and some change. On 2/24/14 our bars disappeared and has been that way ever since. I stayed checking our account transcripts everyday and nothing until this morning. We had a 150 570 and two others but I can’t remember what they where. my cycle date was 20140605 and that has changed as well to a new date. It is kind of late and I have to get up with the family in the morning , so I will post more details then. If you want to know anything that I can tell you that might help you please post your questions and I will respond when I post more details. Good Luck to everyone and good night.
