Unfortunately, people are getting screwed by their banks. Yesterday california just ordered that banks are no longer able to keep stimulus checks that were mistakenly sent to their temporary RAL, accounts but did they really?

Not all banks are taking this approach, however, so it’s up to your bank to decide whether it will seize stimulus checks or not.Why would you have to call wells fargo to see if you can cash your check if you didn’t have some doubt of your own. You guys just put yourselves in question when your reply with shit like that. WHY WOULD YOU CALL YOUR BANK BEFORE HAND. LOL

Yes. California. But I was one of the rejected account closed from TPG Santa Barbara Bank. I should have been first round 4/15 direct deposit. My temp account / closed account pushed me second round mail.

My check came today in the correct amount. Now you you know if you get a status that says a scheduled date trust you will get it on that scheduled date.
@people who said they received it before today I call BULLSHIT! LOL. Make sure that post dated check is real. Depositing a fraudulent check falls back on the person who cashed it.

Today, Friday, April 24th I got my STIMULUS check in the U.S. Mail in the correct amount. I was one of them who as soon as the “get my payment” portal opened up on Wednesday 3 a.m. & was able to update to a different DD. I was one of them who used taxslayer and got fees taken out by TPG from my return and used a new prepaid visa to get my refund. The following Saturday I was updated to the 4/24 mail out my check status. Today is the 24th.
this was the last week for no action DD. After today it’s all u.s. mail once a week and releases on fridays unless you able to put in you dd the thursday before the scheduled friday. They leave the whole week open so the option for DD can be submitted. Why because the IRS welcomes DD over paper. They only mail out once a week. I know that for a fact. There are special circumstances no doubt but why post specials here? It don’t make any sense.
I guess the IRS website and or the U.S. Treasury Department are not good sources. So lets just rely on this forum because everyone here has been completely forthwith. Just last week a girl who claimed to work for Jackson Hewitt said that last wednesday everyone should get a deposit and if you put your personal info in the IRS portal it would only conflict and make things worse. Where is she now. lol.

As of Wednesday, April 22, Treasury Security Steve Mnuchin said that no stimulus payments had been sent out via paper check. “The checks have not gone out yet,” Mnuchin said on CNN.

Adding to the confusion, at least one media report indicates that some paper stimulus checks had been mailed out as of Monday, April 20. If you receive a “check” for an odd amount (especially one with cents), a check that requires that you verify the check online or by calling a number, IT’S A FRAUD.When you filed your tax return, if you chose a refund settlement product for direct deposit purposes, you may have received a prepaid debit card. In some cases, your Economic Impact Payment may have been directed to the bank account associated with the refund settlement product or prepaid debit card.
If the refund settlement product or the associated account is closed or no longer active, the bank is required to reject the deposit and return it to the IRS. The “Get My Payment” app will be updated once the returned payment to the IRS is processed. Timing of this process depends on several variables, including when and how the payments are rejected and returned to the IRS, when “Get My Payment” updates, and when taxpayers check the tool.
Once the returned payment is processed by the IRS, the payment will automatically be mailed to the address on the 2019 or 2018 tax return, or the address on file with the U.S. Postal Service – whichever is more current, and the status in Get My Payment will update accordingly.
The IRS also noted that there was a reporting error that started showing up in recent days on Get My Payment, which inaccurately indicated rejected payments were being sent back to the same taxpayer account a second time. They are actually being mailed to the taxpayers. The IRS has quickly taken steps to correct this reporting error. Get My Payment will be updated starting Tuesday, April 21 to reflect that the taxpayer’s payment has actually been mailed; not rerouted to a closed bank account.

IRS only sends out mail in one batch and that one batch is on a friday. It has always been like that. Hence the schedule of 5 million a week and all days land on a FRIDAY. As far as special circumstances like getting a date sooner than your AIG is scheduled it is still a Friday.
It’s funny how only 3 people have claimed that they have received a check in the mail. ONLY 3. LOL. too funny. Things that make you go hmmm.

I am not referring to this forum im speaking out in the twittersphere. It’s obvious that no one has the answer. Let things catch up. Please just relax and breath. Is emerald aka metabank? or are they two different companies?
Because i know if you have metabank they still have peoples money are are just waiting for the IRS to give them the word to either send back or deliver to the customer. Ill find that info and place it on this sight.They stopped processing tax returns.

In my opinion it’s all about timing. The get my payment app was up and running the exact day DD hit banks. They were hoping for a one shot deal. The 4/15 was EVERYONE who filed 2018 or 2019 tax return had a uncomplicated DD. The get my payment app was mainly created for the ones getting a check. Forget about the words surrounding that date. You got a date that means your good to go and if you were lucky enough to put your DD in before that date, even better!!
I have checked my status 5 times today and I never once got locked out. That’s real talk. Not throwing salt just saying. BTW….every night irs updates but only downloading information collected thru the day and clears attempts. A system that was created executed at a drop of a dime with no trial run was bound to have glitches. I would be very worried if it did run smoothly with no glitches. Trying doing payroll for billions of people that get paid weekly.
people who used their old prepaid card, personal bank DD info or didn’t get an advance by law they are required to file your personal DD in addition with an addendum that includes the temporary account explaining the use of account for unpaid fees.
everyone one wonders why some people who had the same emerald card and used same filing company got their money and some did not. Two reasons. You got an advancement or your agreed to use the offered new prepaid account to receive your tax refund. Both options allow your filing company not to include your personal DD info to be included in filing your taxes.
The people who got a anticipate tax advance and is still waiting on their refund. I hate to tell you but your third party bank possibly has put it toward your loan amount owed which is illegal. Maybe that’s why some of you are getting all these error messages when trying to log into “GET MY PAYMENT” You need to call TPG or Republic Bank and ask for the loan department. Make sure you tell them your CUSTOMER ID #: its a 12 digit number on your refund status on TPG or Republic website.

—–CNBC published 4/17I think for the lucky ones who were able to submit DD info in the portal before mail out status updated those people corrected their own method of delivery from mail to DD. That correction is already starting now. My question is will that action cause a slight delay and push us to the following week or will it all happen simultaneously, resulting in getting our money 4 days earlier.

@preston3 every person’s situations different and unique. What works for someone may not work for others. The details of the argument i honestly don’t know but all i know we can’t change anything and no one really knows anything because things are changing everyday. It’s kinda stressful but exciting at the same time. What else would we be doing if not this now?

In my opinion the portal is getting the job done. People who were able to input your dd info and got a mail out notice maybe your echeck was rejected by a third party bank. A rejected echeck by a personal closed account is a isolated issue. When a third party bank rejects echecks in mass that requires a simple solution and that simple solution is MAIL THEM ALL A CHECK. The portal didn’t tell you this because all information was in crossing.

okay you guys did try to get your check direct deposited BUT unfortunately your situation calls for YOUR check to be mailed out to you. If your echeck got rejected by your third party bank then you get a mail out check. The IRS don’t play games. They are not going to take a chance to hit another one of your direct deposits and miss again. So, just be happy that you got an update indicating you’re even getting your check. Say thank you and move on.
IRS said they don’t want any THIRD PARTY bank delivering that money but the IRS. Turbotax was smart. They rejected all of them if they came to them only to stay in the IRSs good graces because they were in deep shit a few years back.
No one should listened to the tax preparer’s third party bank. Between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. input your DD information on the IRS website. Don’t try now it will be impossible and you will only lock yourself out then wait 30 hours till it clears again. Plus IRS website updates at this time. That’s the only way the IRS can retract your money and send it to you.
Technically no one has to send nothing back to IRS. We never signed any legal contract like we did when we filed our taxes. Wells fargo was smart. They retracted everyone’s money. People saw it in their banks one minute and the next minute it was gone. lol. no joke.

You may not see your bank information on your tax documents but trust me it gets sent to IRS. We really don’t get copies of EVERYTHING that is sent to IRS. We get 10 pages and 25 pages gets sent to IRS and believe me when i say one if not two of those legal documents has our direct deposit info on it.
Can you imagine if one company had that authority to just put their own account numbers without that person’s account number first to verify. Hence why we get our cards upfront IRS verifies the identity through your card before it gets sent to Third party criminal banks.

An IRS-issued check will be mailed to taxpayers that requested a check printed from their tax professional’s office, Walmart Direct2Cash or a Walmart MoneyCard issued by their tax professional.
If a payment is returned to the IRS (Ex. bank account is closed), the IRS will mail a check to the taxpayer.

i do not work for these third party banks so when you ask me a question like what fees? I can’t answer that and you need to direct that question to your third party bank only until that situation happens to you.

If we are unable to identify the payment as an Economic Impact Payment, the deposit will be processed as a federal refund, with all associated fees withheld from the deposit amount.
In the rare event that payments are inadvertently sent to TPG, a plan is in place to help identify and expedite the return of these payments to the IRS so that the IRS can reissue payments directly to affected taxpayers as soon as possible.
@Justchking. You don’t need to explain yourself. Don’t subject yourself with unsolicited advice or comments. Both third party banks said in their disclaimer IF we get your stimulus check FEES will be deducted and either sent back to IRS or your bank. I suggest call Republic and make sure they have your direct deposit info on hand so they don’t bounce it back to IRS.

over 10 k usually ends in a review. I had 14 k last year and i didn’t get mine till October. This year my deductions were correct which allowed me to get more in my paychecks but my refund was a little under 10k. 10k is a reporting threshold. everything under 10k is a nonreporting threshold.
doing my deductions correctly made things go very smooth, timely and stress free.

Ssa updates every two weeks on w2 wages. Not saying your employer hasn’t sent in or irs cant get that info yet it just means they might resequence for the following week or check manually if it hasn’t hit master file. If it takes longer then 21 days they may ask u to send a copy of your w2 used to file 2019 tax return.
Call SSA and talk to someone they can tell u if it’s there or not.
