Just hit my bank!
February 6, 2019 at 12:56 pm in reply to: DDD 2/6/19 Early deposits? Questions? Anyone else #4260252I bank with a small local bank and nothing yet. If it was pushed through, it should show up today. The wait continues.
I’ve seen a lot of posts between here and the FB page knocking people for worrying. I see it like this scenario. Your payroll deposit is scheduled for every Friday, but for the past handful of years, it always comes on Thursday. Thursday comes and you have no deposit. You worry because this is out of the norm, but surely it’ll be there Friday morning. Friday morning comes and still no deposit. Anybody would be concerned, whether they were waiting on that money to fix a broken furnace or just adding it to their savings.
@rhelg80 I absolutely agree. I’ve used TT and SBBT for processing for years. We should be able to at least expect the same results year after year, if not better. But this year is something else entirely. Now, I don’t know if it’s possible that the IRS delayed sending and that caused the initial hiccup, but SBBT supposedly sent my refund to my bank over 14 hours ago and still nothing. I understand that some banks only process at certain times of day, but I know my bank and that’s not the case with them. My refund usually hits my bank within an hour or so of SBBT sending, no matter the time of day. They do not hold deposits.
From what I understand, the idea behind it is that as soon as SBBT gets notified the deposit is coming on their end, they in turn release it to your bank. It’s at least a day ahead so that the deposit actually hits your bank by your DDD. Some banks won’t release the same day, so if they wait until tomorrow, some won’t hit until the 7th. This has always rang true. Not sure what’s up this year, but it is getting awfully late in the day.
Did you guys get an update from WMR to “sent”? I can’t remember if mine changed last year before SBBT got it. I’m thinking it didn’t change to “sent” until the actual DDD.
Filed and accepted 1/26. Was able to order transcripts yesterday, and received a 2/3 DDD this morning. No EIC this year.
Filed 1/26 here. TT 152 showing in WMR. Yesterday 2016 transcripts were not available, but today they are. Good news!
@Nichol – I got my DDD the day after being able to order my transcript.
Drewbee – I’m not sure who Tax Act goes through.
Crystal, I’ve seen a few people run into that, but I haven’t seen anything definite on what it means. A couple people have said it happens, and then the next time they log in it’s gone.
DDD 2/10. Phew!
Self-employed, so schedule C.
EIC and CTC
Accepted 1/29
Return transcript available 2/5
DDD ???February 5, 2016 at 5:24 pm in reply to: "28% of people got their refund on the same day you were accepted and filed" – T #41302318% in my group. The chosen ones. Me, I’m the other 92%.
I called the Virginia refund hotline and it said that I did have deductions taken out of my refund and would be issued a check. No idea when to expect that.
It seems like people are leaning towards 2/10. Last year I got my DDD date on 2/4 for a 2/6 deposit, so anything is possible. I’m hoping it’s Monday!
For the past three years, transcript order meant DDD usually the next day. I’m hoping we could still be 2/8. Last year I got a date on 2/4 for 2/6,so not unheard of. Otherwise it looks good for Wednesday. The end is near!
Several people got a 2/8 DDD yesterday.
No date for me yet, but I can order both transcripts as of this morning.
No update on Wed, but able to order both transcripts this morning.
Jeremy, were you ever able to see one bar? It could be from the outage yesterday.
Tomorrow’s got to be our day, right?
Maybe, maybe not. I think the IRS is telling people that so they’ll stop calling. People wouldn’t have received dates today if that were true.
I’ve never bothered to call in. I feel like some snot-nose kid at their desk will flag me for review if I do. LOL!
Filed and accepted 1/29
No transcripts
1 Bar, Tax Topic 152Every single year they manage to screw something up. The Internal Revenue Service has all year to prepare for tax season. All year! This isn’t just extra bonus money we’re waiting on. It’s called a “return” for a reason; a return in over-payments. It’s ridiculous that by now they haven’t come up with a system that actually works like it’s supposed to. First come, first serve. If there’s some sort of a delay, update with what the delay is. Don’t like rumors go wild. We all stress at tax times. You could have the simplest of returns, but when the delays start happening the panic sets in. Did it get pulled? Is something wrong? Then moving on to the fact that yes, while you shouldn’t depend on your return for anything, sh*t happens to the best of us. One person might be waiting to purchase a new TV, while the next person is waiting to catch up their rent after being laid off. Regardless of which, we have every right to be upset when we’re kept in the dark.
SBBT has always been good to me as well.
It’s too bad they don’t have an email update option to update once something on your account changes.
February 4, 2016 at 1:20 pm in reply to: Has anyone got there money without it being updated? #4128723Eight days from accepted has been my golden number as well. I’ve also learned that filing early never does me any good. The wait to be accepted is almost harder than the wait for a DDD.
Stuff happens. Situations happen. It can be super stressful to wait if you do have something come up, so it’s nice to have a place to come and vent. I’ve gotten a lot of good info from this site in the past few years, but it seems that every year the IRS catches on to us and takes another detective avenue away.
February 4, 2016 at 12:57 pm in reply to: Has anyone got there money without it being updated? #4128678I hope so. I think unless you’ve actually had it happen, it’s like a myth.
I’m hoping people will check in on this thread when they receive an update. Maybe it’ll help me feel like I can do something productive without checking every five minutes. :D Kidding….sort of.

Transcripts under my Social – cannot process your request
Transcripts under my husband’s – not available.@jordan – that’s what’s driving us all crazy! LIke, who’s deciding who gets their refunds first? No method to their madness.
I think this might depend on your bank and how you file. I use TurboTax and have fees taken out through SBBT. I never have a test deposit either in SBBT or my bank.
They do release same day, too. Last year my refund was scheduled for 2/6. They received it on 2/5 and released the same day.
I believe they do update throughout the day, but I can’t be certain. I feel like last year, it was later in the day when it updated to say it had received my funds.
I think the ONLY positive in this is that there are a lot of us in the same boat, so less likely there’s something wrong with our individual returns. Other than that, this is a load of crap. Instead of a generic “our system went down” message, I’d much rather see, “Hey, we we’re understaffed and overwhelmed. We screwed up and will be processing overtime to get refunds out as quickly as humanly possible.” But yeah, that’ll never happen. I’ll look for 2/2 filers to get their DDD’s tomorrow. *insert eye roll here*
February 4, 2016 at 11:21 am in reply to: Transcript do not determine whether you are getting your income tax return #4128513While it is possible they’ve changed something this tax year (perhaps for the transcript hack last year) in prior years, being able to pull your transcripts did in fact mean that you were done processing and approved, and you would be able to get your DDD from the transcript. This year, the only information, if any, you’d gain from being able to order is that your return was complete, being that you’d have to wait for snail mail. That said, there are a lot of reports of people receiving deposits without the pizza tracker or transcripts updating. I think the whole system is bunk this year.
I didn’t file as early as you guys, but filed and accepted the 29th. Agreed. It’s super frustrating to now see people filing as late as 2/1 getting DDD’s while the rest of us are stuck with a broken pizza tracker.
*Form* delay.
Same. Last year I was accepted on 1/31, got my DDD on 2/4 for 2/6. Funds were received a day early.
This year, filed and accepted on 1/29. Nothing. No transcripts, one bar. But I’m seeing this morning that some accepted on 2/1 have a DDD. There is no rhyme or reason to why they do what they do. My return is pretty close to what it was last year, same dependents, same address, slight increase in income and business deductions. Nothing out of the ordinary. The only time I’ve ever had a delay was the Great From Delay a few years back.
Super frustrating. I’ve seen some 2/1 accepteds get DDD’s today. I’m over here like, “SHOW ME THE MONEY!” I’m sure if you could be locked out of SBBT’s site, I would have by now. Annoyed that transcripts still tell me “Your request cannot be completed. Please contact us at 1-800-908-9946, our automated telephone self service, to order an account or a return transcript,” but my husband’s just say not available. Like, what does that even mean? System, are you down or up or what?
I’ve never gotten a refund without WMR updating, so it’s hard to imagine I’d be one of the ones that gets a magical deposit with no update. And now seeing how the 2/3 DDD people don’t even have their money yet, hope is all but lost.
1/29 accepted here and still nothing.
Last year, accepted 1/31, DDD 2/6.
Well, this is crappy news for all of you, and for those of us still waiting for a DDD. Getting a DDD usually means relief, but apparently you can’t even count on that this year. WTF?
I entered mine, but not my husband’s because I didn’t have it handy at the time. Filed and accepted 1/29. No movement, no transcripts, no nothing.
YES!
MamaB, I hope you’re right. Last year, SBBT got my deposit a day earlier, but it didn’t show until later in the day. I’ll be stalking them like mad today. Transcripts seem to only be half working, if at all this morning. If I try with my Social, I get the “your request cannot be processed” message. If I try my husband’s, I get that the transcript is not available. Pizza tracker hasn’t changed one iota.
I really think this “system failure” was their way of catching up. Some people got a 2/8 DDD today, which I believe is the first Monday DDD this season.
HoustonsOwnDrew, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who woke up well before the sun came up to check. I can’t wait for this roller coaster to be over.
It’s such a generic statement. On one hand, it sounds like those of us who have already been accepted won’t see much of a difference. But on the other hand, there’s the three-week message. Seeings how some people got a 2/8 DDD today, it can’t be down for those already accepted, or at least all of us. This part is the return process gets frustrating — seeing people who filed after you getting their money before you. Part of me thinks they’re playing catch-up since this seems to be the first Monday DDD we’ve seen.
No change for me. If I try and order transcripts with my social it says it can’t process my request. My husband’s says the transcript isn’t available. :/ I’m seeing a lot of people who have called in and found out they were held up waiting for identity verification, but didn’t get a notice until they called in. Frustrating. :(
IRS, you had all year to prepare for one job. One job! *facepalm*
I hope so.
I just logged in to check if my transcripts were ready yet, and it is down with “technical difficulties.”
Grasping at straws here. Went to check for my transcripts again….technical difficulties. Maybe an update is coming as far as transcripts go.
Tax Topic 152 just means you’re getting direct deposit.
Your transcripts won’t be available until you’re done processing and have been approved — though it seems this year, some people are getting WMR updates and/or deposits without being able to order transcripts. It seems that a lot of people who filed earlier this year have been delayed for no apparent reason. It tends to happen to early filers a lot, which you’d think it would be the complete opposite.
It wouldn’t hurt to call to make sure everything is moving along. I’ve seen a lot of 1/19’ers still waiting on movement. I hope you get an update soon!
Ange, I get so used to being disappointed when I check every year that when something changes I about fall out of my chair.
To order a transcript, go to irs.gov. Under tools, there is an option to order transcript.
Thanks, momjess! I won’t feel like such a crazy person continuing to check.
TickTock- that’s awesome! It sounds like they’re having lots of bugs between WMR and the transcript ordering this year. I’ve seen a few people get deposits with no updates, too. I’d love a surprise like that.
Every year I hope I’ll be one of those who gets surprised with one bar and a big fat deposit. You give us hope, Jenell!
February 3, 2016 at 8:53 am in reply to: WMR SAYS DDD OF 2/5 BUT MY MONEY IS ALREADY IN THE BANK #4126708Huge congrats! Take the money and run!
Ange, I think transcripts are updated daily, but don’t quote me. If I remember right, I was able to get mine last year early in the morning, but had been checking all throughout the day every day, so assumed it was overnight. That said, I’ll continue to check multiple times a day. LOL!
It has to be Saturday, right? I knew after not being able to get my transcripts yesterday, chances were slim to absolutely none I’d get an update this morning, but it was still like a punch to the gut. Tax time is the biggest emotional roller coaster. It doesn’t matter if you filed two days ago or two weeks ago, every second is an eternity when you’re waiting on YOUR money. Not to mention the fear the IRS puts in people. I’ve had a few times my refund was delayed. A few times when I filed early (totally not even worth it, because it seems you get delayed longer than waiting) and once with a tax credit form not being available. Outside of that, I’ve generally had my refund within 7 days of being accepted. When this year that’s not the case, I can’t help but start to panic a little, along with I’m sure everyone else who’s in this same boat.
For those who filed before us who can’t feel our pain because they’re still waiting, now we’re in your boat seeing people who filed after us with DDD. I’d like to say I’d just forget about it until Saturday, but of course I’ll still check regularly for my transcripts. :D
As far as I know, the account transcript was only good when we could view it online. There was a cycle code on it that would give you your DDD. Now, seeing how you can order your account transcript now and I can’t has to mean something. Maybe that becomes available once they start processing. I’m not sure.
I get where you’re coming from, though. We went from our upcoming return being extra money to needed money when my husbands hours and pay got cut. Tomorrow wouldn’t he soon enough.
From what I’ve read, Saturday is the next update. I’ve always had Wednesday updates, so I’m nervous that one is going to pass me up as well.
Accepted r 1/29 @4:03 pm EST. As of this morning, no transcripts, or DDD.
Charden, once you can order your return transcript, your refund has processed and been approved. Since the return transcript is an official tax record, it won’t he ready until you’re done processing.
Agreed. The schedules give a baseline, but they also only give Friday deposit dates. I think instead of on 2/5 or on 2/12, it should say “by” 2/5 or “by” 2/12. Still hoping for the 2/5 boat, but if that one sails, could be the beginning of next week as well. Last year’s schedule told me I’d get mine on the 13th, and it was scheduled for the 6th.
I really hope that’s true about the transcripts. I had a feeling they might be wonky this year due to mail only. I can imagine an online transcript would be available before a hard copy would be available for them to print and mail….hopefully. :D
Here’s hoping this party gets started in the morning!
Being able to order your return transcript means that your return has been processed and approved. If it’s not available, that hasn’t happened yet.
It’s an official transcript you can use for purposes of loans, etc.
@mama, I’ve noticed the same thing with early filers. It seems when I did have everything in order and filed early, I was hung up and didn’t get through until at least the second batch. If I wait, there’s usually about a 7-day turnaround.
And absolutely, when it’s your money, 24 hours is too dang long!
I’m sure the opening day filers had threads going by day four, also. :D We’re all in this boat together, waiting on what we’ve overpaid for the last year. I saw a meme the other day something like, “It shouldn’t be called a refund, but you paying me back all the money you overcharged me all year!” Fitting!
February 2, 2016 at 8:56 am in reply to: has anyone been approved or received ddd for state return Virginia #4125086Mo, that’s what mine says as well. If you have any outstanding personal property taxes, or Virginia state taxes, they’ll pay off those and issue you a paper check. Not sure if that’s the case for you, but I believe it is for me. Though that did happen a few years ago and It gave me some sort of indication on the site that that’s what was happening. Mine also says “return has been processed.”
Thank you for this! I’ve been thinking the 5th all along, but lost a little hope with no transcripts this morning.
It’s true. The return transcript is the important one. That means your return has finished processing and been approved.
I filed and was accepted on 1/29, but I believe I may be in the same batch as some of you who filed a few days earlier.
Last year, accepted on 1/30, WMR updated on 2/4 for a DDD of 2/6. SBBT deposited funds on 2/5. No transcripts available yet, but I’m a little curious if not being able to see them online delays them? (Hoping!) Last year we were able to view online to check the code on the account transcripts. How dare they take that away! LOL!
If memory serves, SBBT does update throughout the day. Last year I had a DDD from the IRS of 2/6, however ended up getting it through SBBT on 2/5. It took half the day for SBBT to update on 2/5, and the deposit came through later in the evening, one day early.
Absolutely no change this morning.
Filed and accepted 1/29 through TurboTax.
2/2 – Still one bar, tax topic 152, no transcripts available. Bummer.I know the early filers are rolling their eyes at us now, but hey, early filing doesn’t guarantee you an early refund. I’ve had horrible luck filing early and usually get delayed longer. I was also in the group a few years back that got hung up over the credit form — it was so traumatic, I blocked out which one it was. I can’t help but be antsy after that whole debacle.
Still holding out hope for a DDD before the 12th granted the charts aren’t showing the between dates, like the DDD for tomorrow a lot of people have.
Thanks so much, Jeff! I read on the attached paper it said that it didn’t need to be attached to your return, but I figured it would be just my luck.
If history is any indicator, I look to see some 1/29 and before accepteds be able to order transcripts tomorrow, and get DDD Wednesday for Friday.
February 1, 2016 at 1:20 pm in reply to: has anyone been approved or received ddd for state return Virginia #4124171Mine is only updated to “return has been processed.” No DDD information. I do have a balance on my personal property taxes (which I was taking care of from my refund), so my guess is they’re paying that and will end up sending me a check for the difference.
SBBT is pretty quick. Last year, accepted on 1/30, on 2/4 got a DDD for 2/6. Had funds in my account on 2/5 via SBBT through TurboTax. If the timeline stays the same, we could be looking at a Wednesday update for Friday DDD. They’re also running dates outside of the charts, like some people getting DDD of 2/3, so I’m holding out hope for Friday.
