Apparently there are a large group of people who had offsets, but still received their refund. Which leaves another group of people (expecting to receive said intercepted funds), who didn’t get that lump sum that they anticipate around this time of year. Wondering who screwed up. The IRS? The Child Support offices who submit the offset? Or Treasury? Something went wrong.

Hey allewis9223. You can find the cycle on your transcripts. Also, has anyone else’s as of date changed? It seems that is the only thing that updates on my transcripts. Yesterday it was 4/14 today is 4/21.

Ok so now I am completely convinced that the people at the IRS make stuff up each time we call. I guess I need to forget about the refund and just wait til it deposits ( hopefully yet sometime in 2014…..lol). Two weeks ago they told me that my account had closed and it should only take a three weeks from the close date to receive my refund now today when I called they stated that my taxes are still processing and it would be up to another 4 weeks. How frustrating and for all of us who filed IS I also think that Where’s my refund tool is a joke and you could spend half of your life locked out of the oh so temperamental transcript site. Thank goodness this is my last year doing this. Hope all of you are having better luck!!!!

I am also getting back the full amount. I am the only one working and it is his debt so we get it all back.

Hi all, does the amount updated on the transcripts match what the actual refund is? I filed 3/4, IS form received 3/10, and everything updated today to show reversal of debt paid and refund sent to me, but it shows the whole amount and I should be getting back less than that.

Was it the IRS, Treasury or OCSE (Office of Child Support Enforcement)?

A question from an IGMR user:

“My child’s father’s refund was scheduled to be offset for arrearages. Somehow, he still got his refund. Domestic relations caught it and scheduled him for a contempt hearing, stating that he had to pay it back. Now, three days before the hearing, they call me and say that because he has been making his regular monthly payments (he owes over $11,000 in arrearages). How is this possible and has it happened to anyone else?”

Okay so I know I already posted that I will be getting my check soon but I wanted to let everyone know that I received a letter in the mail from the IRS stating what I would be getting back so I think that might be one clue to when you will be getting the money soon rather than calling and getting the 11 week speech and run around

Where are you guys able to find the cycle information you are referencing? I look on the Where’s My Refund tool and all it continues to say is that it was accepted on 2/9 and that my refund is still being processed.

Never posted before but I figured I had to find out or get advice on my situation. We filed in early Feb and had no idea that there was going to be an offset. Received DD date and WMR went from the return amount to zero on that day. We called frantically and found out about the offset. Sent in IS form after that. Have been checking transcripts everyday, no IS form received but 3/3 date refund was sent to Non-Irs Debt (Wife’s Student Loans). Finally today the IS form shows received on 3/4. Does anyone know what happens at this point?

All I can say is I am so happy finally updated. Cased closed last Tuesday and updated lastnight to 846 4-21 so hopefully I will get my deposit Wednesday or sooner. WMR still has not updated but I will post tomorrow if it does. I can not say how happy I am that the end is near but good grief. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope to see everyone posting about updates.

Sabrina- that original cycle date really means nothing unless you were filing a normal claim. The last four digits are the year the next two like mine was 08 stands for the week of the year which would have been the last week of February and the last two numbers are the days of the week in IRS land which 01 is Friday 02 is Monday and so forth. Basically I have realized that we are all at the mercy of the IRS and since it is the IRS there is very little we can do about it. It is week 8 for me and my case has been closed since the 25th of last month but still no updates and the lady said it shouldn’t be more than three weeks but do any of them really know what they are talking about or do they get bored and make stuff up? It is hard waiting especially when you have bills to pay. Sorry wish I had a better attitude. Clearly it is taking much longer this year! Good luck to everyone!!

                                  (O.K I got a 846 refund issued update at about 4/4/14 @ 12:10 A.M eastern time.)

Here is my story me and my wife filed on 2/4/14 and got excepted on 2/6/14 . This is the first time I HAVE FILED SINCE 2009 because of the injured spouse issue. We claimed two dependents this year and filed the injured spouse form with tax act , since turbo tax did not have the form ready when we where ready to file. My wife made most of the income last year around 30,000 and me I made some where around 2,000 and some change. On 2/24/14 our bars disappeared and has been that way ever since. I stayed checking our account transcripts everyday and nothing until this morning. We had a 150 570 and two others but I can’t remember what they where. my cycle date was 20140605 and that has changed as well to a new date. It is kind of late and I have to get up with the family in the morning , so I will post more details then. If you want to know anything that I can tell you that might help you please post your questions and I will respond when I post more details. Good Luck to everyone and good night.

Until someone spots at least a minor pattern, the “as of” date is totally meaningless.

Hi Kristen. I think we are in the same situation. This is my first year filing IS. I also filed TurboTax on 2/6/14 and was accepted the very next day. I have 570 as of 03/03, cycle 705 with as of date 04/14/14. Does anyone know what the as of date represents? Mine has changed twice from 03/07 to 03/14. Kristen if you have any updates would you please share and I will do the same. Happy for everyone that has gotten their return and good luck to all waiting,

The first rep didn’t say anything, so I am assuming it is being worked on. I already know about that. But the when I called the offset number, it says there is nothing. So I am going to assume that once I am told there was an offset, then, they are done. I’ll just call the offset number daily.

I was told by two different people at the IRS that the 11 weeks starts from when they receive your return with the IS form. So I was told yesterday that mine should be no longer than 16 more days. Ughh. I have had a couple of short checks and was hoping to catch up on some bills. Well one of them is my cable and internet. So this will be the last time checking any thing until next payday. the 8th. Within a couple of days my as of date jumped from 4/7 to 4/14. I hope that is the last change. But with my luck I doubt it. Maybe by the time I have my internet back, I will have a refund date. HAHA, LOL

If anyone can help i would appreciate it. I have cycle date of 20140705 and the last update was code 570 on 3/3. I check daily! This is our first time filing IS and I would love it if someone could give me an idea of what I could expect. I’ve called, they told me 11 weeks- but from when? We filed 2/6 via TUrbotax. Thanks in advance!

Don’t get me wrong we manage but that money is very much needed as I’m sure all of ours is for one reason or another! I wish you all the best of luck in getting your refunds back quickly and I will update if they do happen to call me or release the funds…..

This my first time filing injured spouse because we’re newly weds. My husband had debt coming into the marriage. I’m the only wage earner and we have 2 babies. Not in a community state so I’m receiving a full refund minus an offset to my state. 20140605 cycle. As of date 3/31, Return due date April 15th, Processing date Feb 24. I called the IRS today got a nice lady. She told me there’s absolutely nothing wrong with mine, everything looked good. She was honest and said they are utilizing the 11 weeks and to not to expect it earlier. She referred me to a tax advocate if I needed one but I figure since I only have 2 more weeks I’ll ride it out.

Just very frustrated that people who were accepted after us, and whose processing dates were after ours, get their refunds before us. I have visions of my paperwork floating in the air and under a desk, never to be seen again. With everything computerized these days, and the fact that we eFiled, why aren’t these handled in the order they were received?

I called once a week and they told me nothing was in their system and this was last week. I have seen on facebook “I got my refund” where one lady received hers in 4 weeks (she filed 2/18 and got her refund 3/27) another lady got hers in 3 weeks. Just hoping it won’t be long.

He said that the check can take up to 4 weeks but that he has never seen it take that long but he has to tell everyone the 4 week speech. And for those of you that live in a community state and are the only one working but its the spouse dept that doesn’t mean the take the half they only take the amount you get due to being married and filing joint in my case it was about 1200$ so i am getting way more than half of my return very happy the stress is finally over

You filed on 2/6, IS form received by IRS, so your 11 weeks is around 4/24 although they do indeed seem to be moving faster this year. I would be surprised if your transcripts didn’t get updated in the next two weeks with a DD date and money in hand by the end of April.

My husband and I sent our paper refund and IS form by certified mail on 2/6. I called the IRS today and they told me it was received on 2/27. He also said it was still processing. My transcripts codes are 150 806 768 and 570 with an as of date of March 31 and a cycle date of 20140905. Can anyone tell me if this is good or bad? Am I going to be waiting forever? We Efiled our original return and then mailed in the form 8379. Hopefully this helps some of you!

He is the only one in the house with income so we filed the Injured Spouse form they accepted it on 2/18 we live in Ohio can you tell me if you think we will get all or part of our taxes back we like so many others badly need it and when I spoke to the IRS Monday they said that I should know by Friday if we will get it back or not my last code on my transcripts is 971-injured spouse form received 2/18/2014 0.00?

It works better to just @original poster, then respond. Keeping all new responses at the top seems to work better, at least for me.

Filing status, income, deduction or credits that are wrong on your tax return can be fixed with an Amended return. There is even a special WMR, dubbed the WMAR to check the status of your Amended tax return.

Still nothing here either! Was really hoping for this week. Last year I filed regular and then they took it, sent in the form the beginning of March, and got it the middle of April. Makes no sense but, waiting is what I can do :(

I had to wait until the 6th to get accepted because TT didn’t have the IS forms ready, but I have seen people who filed a full week after me already receive their money. Its frustrating. All we can do is wait.
