@Mays I’m using GoBank as well, my DD is for tomorrow 03/03, and thought I might get it early. Nothing yet. This is my first year using GoBank with my refund.
Treasury Offset line is 1-800-304-3107Filed 2/20
Accepted 2/21
DDD 03/03
Using a new bank this year, GoBank (Greendot Bank), so I’m not sure if it’ll deposit early today, or in the AM. Nothing yet though.@SweetTea I had the entire refund offset. Normally if your Debt is less than your refund, you will get the remaining amount the day of your DD. If it’s not deposited by the date they say, it could have went to another debt. Maybe check the offset line if it was a non-Tax Debt. Double check and make sure your routing and account number is correct on your return, if it was typed in incorrectly, the IRS will mail a check.
For people with possible offsets, the Offset line changed this year. Make sure you are checking option 2.
1 for English, 1 for Offset, 2 for Personal (Consumer) Debt
Mine didn’t show on option 1 this year like it did last year. But also check 1,1,1 if you previously checked with 1,1,2.I had made a post yesterday about offsets and the offset line. I forgot to mention that the line is for federal non-tax debts only. Some Examples of these..
Past-due child support;
Federal agency non-tax fell debts (ex. Student loans);
State income tax obligations; or
Certain unemployment compensation debts owed to a state (generally, these are debts for (1) compensation paid due to fraud, or (2) contributions owing to a state fund that weren’t paid).
**You could have a federal tax debt, which will not show by calling that number.**@Tony Last year after my refund was suppose to be deposited on 1/31, I found out about the offset. So I mailed in my IS I believe on the 4th. They received it on 2/26, didn’t get my refund until 6/25. I think it was around a total of 20 weeks. The normal processing time is 8 weeks for mailing IS separate/after Offset occurs, that is 8 weeks from the day it is received by the IS Department. It all depends on what processing center/who works your form, as far as how long it will take. This year they are showing they received my form a lot sooner than last, so I’m hoping it’s quicker.
If they do go past the 8 weeks, they pay you interest.@cheryl Ok. Was just asking to see if maybe you could file Injured Spouse, but since you aren’t married that won’t work.
You could possibly call the DOE and see if they will give you the money back, or some of it.If you have TT 203, your Refund will likely be taken. All or part, depending on your debt. If your debt is larger than your refund, they will take it all. If your debt is smaller, they will take the portion for the debt and release the rest on your DDD. They can take federal or state for your offset. Very few people slip through and get their refund, so don’t count on it.
I had an offset for the first time last year, it was a shock, I was freaking out. If you are married, it is possible to maybe get some or all of your Refund back filing Injured Spouse. For example: I have a student loan debt, which my husband is not obligated to pay. They took our entire refund last year for the student loans. I don’t work, but he does, so we got our full refund back filing IS. There are factors that determine what you’ll get back, but it’s possible. You can both work to file Is, it doesn’t just have to be one person working. And it’s not just for student loan debt. You can join the “Longest Standing Injured Spouse Tax Filer Group” on Facebook for help with filing IS, make sure to answer all questions to join. They have really helped me with everything I needed to know to file IS. There’s also info about rehabbing student loans if that’s your debt.
If you want to know where your Refund went, call the Treasury Offset line at 1-800-304-3107
Press 1 for English, Press 1 for Offset, and Press 2 for Consumer (Personal Debt) If nothing is showing then check with options 1,1,1.
For me the offset line didn’t update last year until the day before they took my entire refund. This year it updated a few days after I got my DDD on WMR. The offset line has been messed up this year, so it may not update right away. For everyone who had their refund taken, when you call the offset line make sure you are checking options 1 and 2, the offset line changed this year.
Press 1 for English, 1 for Offset, and 2 for Personal (Consumer) Debt
But also check 1 for that last option. People have been checking 1 instead of 2 this year, and why you may not be hearing your Offset info. They should start depositing this afternoon. I’ve always received my deposit from them in the afternoon.
If coming from SBTPG, you should start seeing deposits in the afternoon.

Transcripts haven’t updated with 846, hopefully they will this Saturday.
There’s probbaly just a delay because of the holiday, and of course they are way behind from the shutdown that occured.@Taylor Normally if it shows a debt, even though no amount, they will offset. Happened to me last year.
On WMR, PATH gone, changed to processing message..Refund amount showing again, but bars still gone. Nothing new on my transcript.
@Smalltown04 You will likely have an update tomorrow on WMR if your transcript updated today.
@Brandy Do you have a mortgage? Car loan? Student loan? Those are possible options. Had to use my mortgage to verify, wouldn’t take my CC either.@k7s

I read in another post that there will be updates until noon today, whether or not this is true I’m not sure.@Ashley I had ACTC last year and wasn’t held up by path. DDD was 1/31.
This year I got the PATH message though.
I think some people do end up getting lucky and slipping through, despite PATH. My aunt said she has a friend who has EIC and she got her deposit on her card from H&R Block this year. So I believe people do get them early.Filed 1/23

@Acemommy Thanks!@NADIA Above transactions on your account transcripts..it’ll say April 15th and then another date below it. The same date should also be next to your cycle code.

Processing Date 2/18This is my second year filing IS, but I didn’t file with my return and should have. Last year I had just learned about IS, got offset and mailed the form after. It took until the end of May/beginning of June last year to get my refund check, and I had mailed it Feb 1st.
I filed this year and got the form mailed last Friday and it arrived last night. I figured it would be better to send before they offset this year.
I have a question if anyone can answer. Anyone that filed with Turbo Tax filing IS, what is the cost to file with it?😂 I hope not though, but actually expect it to not change.
@guy Well let’s say you file through Turbo Tax. You sign a form towards the end of filing to allow them/IRS to send your info to SBTPG. So if you get fees taken out through SBTPG, you sign the form allowing them to get your tax info, so they can receive your info/refund, take their fees and send your refund.
@Jason You just have to wait until tomorrow. I believe it’s only 3 times a day, and after that it locks you out and you can’t check until the next day.
I’ve only known the 570 code to be for filing Injured Spouse, because I have. But I found online it can mean many different things. It could mean that more information is needed. Something else I found was that the date next to it can mean that’s when your return will be processed and you’ll get a DDD after that. It’s probbaly the last thing I just mentioned and you’ll get a DDD after that date.
I believe the processing date is when they are suppose to have our returns done by. I was accepted 1/28 and my processing date is 2/18, which would be 21 days from my acceptance date.
@Christy Just when they are suppose to have our returns done by. It’s 21 days from the time/date we were accepted.
@Krik13 Congrats! You should get it Monday!

Hoping for an update this Saturday.February 5, 2019 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Filed 1/27, Accepted 1/28, Transcripts this morning, but 1 bar? #4259340@rhelg80 SBTPG should get your refund tomorrow, take their fees and release it to you. The time where they are is a little different likely, so it could be morning that you get it, or afternoon. They do refunds in batches, but you should have it in your bank acct tomorrow for sure. And congrats!
@Lona If you are going to wait to file, then wait until you get that letter saying you are out of default. And make sure to check the offset line before filing, because if it’s showing the offset they will likely take it. They took my refund last year when it said “your refund may or may not offset…” If the offset line isn’t showing a debt, then you’re good. I don’t know, it’s up to you what you want to do. If he’s saying 9 payments to get out of default though, then you won’t get that letter until you’ve made the 9 payments. I’ve heard of people getting the letter before the 9 payments.
@Jibbbjawww Right?! Lol Even previous years at times my processing date has ended up being my DDD. It is a guessing game for sure!!!
Typo- sorry my state was Accepted 1/29…not 1/28.
My sister just checked hers as well and has a DDD for 2/8. It could come a day early for anyone who gets a DDD.
Credits won’t delay your state, I have CTC and ACTC and got mine.Filed 1/23
State Accepted 1/28
DDD 2/6 but got it this morning.
They are working on them! If it takes too long you may have to ID verify, I had to last year.@Lona The IS would only work if it was his debt in your situation. If he worked, then you could file IS and get his portion back. I’m guessing it’s your debt though? Just get your payment planned finished so you can get out of default. Once you make your first payment to your new lender after rehabbing the loan(s), you won’t get your refund taken as long as you are in good standing.
@Jibbbjawww I heard the processing date is when they have to have your return done by. I was accepted 1/28, and my processing date is 2/18, that would be 21 days from that day. I’ve also always got my refund before/earlier, and my processing date changed to my DDD once I received the 846 code. I don’t know it’s just confusing at times.
@cptully You won’t be able to check that site then. Have to stick to WMR or keep checking your account. I got my state deposit a day early (this morning), so you might get your federal today.
Had a DDD or 2/6 for state, in my bank this morning.
@Colin check here if you filed through Turbo Tax and had fees deducted.
https://taxpayer.sbtpg.com/login@Lona You would need to wait the 5, and wait to receive the letter that says you are out of default. I’ve also read that it’s good to make your first payment with your new lender before filing.
Have you checked the offset line? Married? (Just wondering if you can file Injured Spouse).@Kathy Cycle Code is just when your account posted to the master file. Your DDD will be next to the code 846. You’ll see “846 Refund Issued” then your Refund amount with a date next to that.
February 4, 2019 at 1:16 pm in reply to: If u got child tax credit is there a delay again ?? #4257329I’m now hearing because things changed with CTC that even though we may have ACTC, we can get delayed with CTC. I’m guessing that’s why I got PATH message this year.
@Ron Congrats!
@Donald Yes, they will take what is owed and the remainder will be deposited on your DDD.
@Aaron Processing dates can change. But I have noticed with previous transcripts it seems that my processing date ended up being the same as my refund date. To know your refund date for sure, wait until you see the 846 code on your transcript.
@MinnesnowtaGirl You can find your cycle code on the account transcript.
@PhoenixLake Make sure you are checking option 2 for Offset as well. I accidentally checked option 1 this year and it didn’t show, checked 2 for consumer debt and it showed offset for my student loans. As long as you aren’t in default with any of the loans, you shouldn’t have an offset and they shouldn’t take your refund.
It’s possible. I’ve never had EIC, but did have ACTC last year and got my DD before the 15th. Just because people get a DDD early with EIC or ACTC doesn’t mean they are trolls. My aunt had EIC last year and got her DD before the 15th. It seems to happen, just to very few people.
February 2, 2019 at 5:42 pm in reply to: If u got child tax credit is there a delay again ?? #4256426@Kellllllllllllll No delay for CTC (Child Tax Credit), just ACTC (Additional Child Tax Credit) and EIC (Earned Income Credit).
@Maya You got lucky! Congrats! I slipped through last year, but not this year lol.@Mary People have been saying PATH means you are finished processing, just waiting on a DDD. I updated to PATH this morning and also had bars disappear. It’s normal from what I’ve been reading.
@Erin The cycle code is not your DDD, just when your accounted posted to the master file. After PATH shows up, you are just waiting on a DDD.@Jessy0529 Online or by mail. You can just google “IRS Transcript” should be a link to the irs website. You’ll have the option of online (can only get if you have a cc, mortgage, loan), or call and receive them by mail. The phone number will be on the website.
@WicK3d Well it’s too late for this tax season, but if you get into a rehab program now, by October you would make your 9th payment. Then you should receive a letter saying you competed the program and you’re out of default. You get transferred to a new lender, make your first payment and you’re good. Best not to file until you’ve made that first payment is what I’ve read/been told.
I had an offset in 2012, they took $1,000 of the refund, and then I didn’t hear anything again until last year when they took the whole refund. Luckily since I don’t work and my husband makes the $, was able to get the entire refund back.
Also, as for the Injured Spouse, you can file that form for previous years (I believe for the past 5 years) and get your spouse’s portion back (as long as your spouse made more than you/their income is the main income. There are states though that do not have Injured Spouse. And then CP States where you can only get a portion of your refund back.Mike, if your debt is more than your refund, they will take all of it. They did it to me last year. You can call the Treasury Offset line, 1-800-304-3107. Press 1 for English, 1 for Offsets, then 2. 2 shows my student loan debt. There is an option 1, but didn’t list my offset. You can check both.
If you are married, and your spouse made more than you, it’s possible to get her portion back filing Injured Spouse. If you are in default, call the Dept of Ed, find out who has your loan, set up a payment plan with them. You can do a rehabilitation program, make payments for 9 months and then you’ll get out of default. Then you won’t have to worry about them taking your Refund as long as you compelete the program.@Carla They will take the remainder of what you owe and release the rest to you as long as your Refund is more than what you owe.
I updated to PATH this morning. I got lucky and slipped through last year and didn’t get the PATH message even though I had ACTC.
@dkhaley97 I wouldn’t stress too much. Last year I waited a couple weeks for an update. Weekly here as well. You’ll probably update next week.
Also Accepted 1/28. Updated to PATH this morning with still the 1 bar. You could get an update next week, just check then.

Was hoping I’d slip through the cracks like last year lol..nope.
@ray c 2-18 is a generic processing date, and a Holiday (President’s Day). Not necessarily. I was able to view my transcripts today finally, but they weren’t compeleted (no 846 Refund Issued). Some people have said they’ve ordered transcripts and they’ve been blank when they got them.
I also was accepted on 1/28, CTC and ACTC. Filed 1/23.February 1, 2019 at 10:08 pm in reply to: Filed 1/27, Accepted 1/28, Transcripts this morning, but 1 bar? #4255906I filed the 1/23, Accepted 1/28, TT 152 and my transcript looked partially done today but no 846 code yet. For awhile my transcripts showed N/A. So, still waiting on a DDD.
My cycle code changed this year. I’ve also always received my refund in the beginning of February. You will need your Account Transcript for your Refund date. Your account transcript will have “846 Refund Issued” with an amount and date next to that when it’s finished processing.
The cycle code is when your account posted to the master file, according to FAQs on here. There isn’t an 846 Code which would be your refund. When they add your refund it will say “846 Refund Issued” then the amount in the next column, with a date next to that for when they will deposit your refund. Returns are just due to be filed by 4/15, so no that is not your refund date.
February 1, 2019 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Filed 1/27, Accepted 1/28, Transcripts this morning, but 1 bar? #4255818@rhelg80 I believe SBTPG gets the refund that day, and then they release it later on that day. They get the refunds in batches is what I read last year, take their portion and then release them on your DDD.
Yes it’s a good way to check. I had an offset last year and was unlucky, it didn’t list mine until the day before they took my refund. Mine still hasn’t told me this year when they are offsetting, hope I find out soon! Really hoping to get the refund before they offset lol, but I know that won’t happen.
Likely 2/5. Depending on the bank, some people have gotten theirs early, but usually on the day it says.
