anyone know if when you call and question the IRS that they bump you up? I know last time I actually got through to the IRS I had my return within a two weeks and there wasnt a single update until that point.

Interesting point. I finally got my refund about 2 weeks after I reached a live person. Coincidence? Maybe or maybe not.

Does anyone else’s transcript show an adjusted agi but no adjustment to refund amount and no deposit received? My transcript shows my agi $10200 less than when I filed (which was before the 10200 tax break rule). So does this mean that my return has already been reviewed and I am owed no additional money???

If the IRS knocked your AGI down by $10,200, all else being equal, a refund should be flowing soon to you.

My refund check arrived in today’s mail. I thank Crissy for starting this thread 6 months ago, all who posted to keep hope alive, and financial reporters for checking the board and using our comments for stories. Hoping your check or direct deposit is on the way. Peace!

Hip hip hooray. Finally, the date on my transcript changed for the first time and the refund amount I was expecting, plus interest, is now showing. November 15 is the promised date. So hang in there everyone. The dam may finally be loosened.

I got through to a live person at the IRS. I called at 9am Eastern, worked my way through the multiple levels, then had a 5 minute wait. After taking my info, I had two 5 minute periods on hold while he accessed my account. The bad news is that all he could tell me was that, yes, my tax form had been identified for review for the UI refund, but it’s still pending. He said there are still a lot of pending reviews. I hope this information helps others waiting, but it’s very frustrating.

Glad to see others posting here. Does anyone know the secret of getting a live person at the IRS? Every phone tree I’ve gone down eventually gets me to the message “we’re sorry. We’re too busy. Try later or tomorrow. Goodbye!” I know some folks have broken through the system. Please share with us peons!

Wow – no one has posted here a week, making me think I’m the last one to waiting to get my UI refund. Not good.

My weekly update. No changes to transcript. Still says May 31, 2021. It’s nice that others posting here appear to be getting updated dates on the transcript but clearly not me! I know reporters monitor this board; I hope they are asking the IRS for progress status.

Hi Friday update time. No change to transcript date; May 31. I tried called the IRS to get a live agent, but each time got a response that lines are too busy, call back again, and a hang up. What’s the secret of getting a live agent?

Weekly Friday update. I’m noticing a slowdown on folks that post here, which makes me think people are getting their unemployment tax refund. Meanwhile, I still wait, with no change to my transcript since May 31. I guess it’s time to call the IRS.

I’m new on this. Being waiting for my 2020 unemployment taxes return and nothing. I found this forum by luck, how I can get my transcript? Can someone explain to me step by step so I can check my status? I really appreciate it. Thanks

Google IRS Transcript. It’s pretty straightforward from there. Post back if you have trouble.

Weekly update number 3. Still no change to transcript. Last activity says May 31, 2021. MFJ; 0 dependents. I don’t understand what’s holding it back. Understaffing at IRS? Luck of the draw? They don’t like me? I’m noticing fewer posts on this board and less press about the unemployment benefit refunds and it’s really frustrating to know that if I had waited to file my return, this would have been moot!

My weekly Friday update. No change. Last date on transcript is May 31, 2021. Has the IRS announced another wave of refund checks? Are there parameters that certain returns are flagged and held? Repeating my info: MFJ, we owed money. Had one time K-1 income from an estate. Any information appreciated.

My weekly update. No change. Arghhh. Transcript still says May 31, 2021. MFJ; 0 dependents. I did have K-1 income from an estate if that matters. I had a balance due when I filed if that makes a difference as well. Hard to figure out what’s holding it back at this point. I guess I can look forward to all the interest added to the refund

I just found this board. Checked Transcript; no activity since May 31. Still waiting. At least this group gives me some comfort that I’m not alone in waiting for the UI adjusted refund.
