SBTPG didn’t hold or delay mine, yay. WMR still shows 2 bars, approved but my refund is IN THE BANK, WOOHOO!
F/A 2/18, TT, did the 2019 look back due to lower income in 2021, thank God for that little gift from Congress. I also had an error (got a W for $11.00 interest after I’d filed) AND I had an offset for last year’s state taxes. Figured I’d be waiting til Christmas!! Good luck guys…the $$$$ train is arriving!!!
Hey Dan – I have same issue. 23 years of filing with same 4 kids but something wonked for 2018 and IRS decided my 2 remaining dependents, I dunno, disappeared? I just got a bill for $14.77 from the Treasury Dept! Am owed about a $7K refund. I have decided I will take up this battle again AFTER this year’s taxes are filed/received. I had NO problem with last year’s filing…I got my refund in 8 days – 2 dependents magically “reappeared” in their system, I guess.
Hi everyone…another year gone by! I don’t dare early file; had 1 bad experience so I hold off until mid Feb. Looking to file on 2/15. I figure that will give the IRS a few days to accept returns starting on 2/12, and work out any huge bugs before I hit “Submit” for mine.
This happened to me years ago, too. I got my FULL refund pretty quick; I’d say about 3 weeks. Be sure to send EVERY verification they ask for. Be concise and organized. A Taxpayer Advocate could help expedite.
My dumbazz ez who pulled this stunt (and forged my signature on the return) had to repay every cent to the IRS and is flagged in their system now. Good luck! Oh… it was direct deposited and I did receive it before ex was even notified he had a huge problem. This happened to me years ago, too. I got my FULL refund pretty quick; I’d say about 3 weeks. My dumbazz ez who pulled this stunt (and forged my signature on the return) had to repay every cent to the IRS and is flagged in their system now. Good luck!I got the 4464C last year and it was a mess. Kept getting “under review, wait another 60 days” notices. I was ill and my income had dropped drastically. I made a small error on my return and instead of adjusting it, the IRS stalled my refund until NOVEMBER. Praying this year things go smoothly as they always have.
July 4, 2019 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Early filers that are being STALLED by the IRS post your story here! #4330499Got IRS 566-E letter yesterday, 7/3…FIVE MONTHS after filing. It’s a “correspondence audit” looking for verification of my W2 from my 1 employer last year and proof that the 3 kids I have claimed since they were born (16 years plus) and as HOH past 14 years, are mine to claim. They sure as shit aren’t anyone else’s. So the saga goes on. IRS states if I don’t respond they will adjust my refund accordingly (I knew a while back the W2 didn’t match – why did they just not correct it?!) So I will be gathering proof that myself, as my kids’ full time 365 days per year parent, are mine to claim.
June 30, 2019 at 6:01 pm in reply to: Early filers that are being STALLED by the IRS post your story here! #4330365I’ll chime in. F/A 2/7 (or 6?) been so long I’ve forgotten. EITC, ACTC, same kids, address, job. Significant income drop 2018 due to illness so refund jumped higher. Got 4464c 60 day review notice mid March. Told not to call, no need to send anything, just wait, No letters since from IRS. Back at work now and going to have to take an unpaid half day to get on the phone w IRS. I now have myself as EXEMPT and will never file before March again. I DO think I made a small error on my return as I used my last paystub not realizing it didn’t account for FSA tax free funds. I don’t think a small error should result in my desperately needed refund being held up for 5 months and counting. My error would result in refund being about $400 less than what I filed for. Figured IRS would correct it or make me file amended return.
redacted – did you ever get your refund? Did Edgar?
February 27, 2019 at 6:27 pm in reply to: WMR bar disappeared w/still being processed msg (LOG/UPDATES) #4306037I did what Keith Hibbard suggested (this thread earlier this am) and I see “810” in the line. Here is what I found – it is a Refund Freeze BUT could simply be the EITC hold….from IRS Code List:
810: To freeze the module from refunds, offsets and credit elect. TC 810 with Code 1 indicates prefiling notification. Code 2 indicates ATSDT (Abusive Tax Shelter Detection Teams). Code 3 earned Income Credit Check Freezes YR input. Contact Examination Branch if this transaction needs to be input. Code 4 indicates FRP (Frivolous Return Program)February 26, 2019 at 9:03 pm in reply to: WMR bar disappeared w/still being processed msg (LOG/UPDATES) #4304378@ Megan – we filed about the same. I F/A 2/6, had 1 bar TT152 returned received and being processed UNTIL yesterday 2/25 when bar went bye bye and I got the “still being processed” message, still w TT152 (which is not a bad thing.) I have always gone 1-2-3 bars with NO problems so I am worrying but not calling the IRS until day 28 which would be 3/1, if I am still seeing that damn “STILL” message. No letters from the IRS. I hope it’s normal. Or just a small delay. My azzhat former employer did not mail W-2 until 2-14 so I am betting IRS got them late too, so maybe that’s the hold up. Hang in there.
Pudgi – just curious, what is a 12C letter? If you don’t mind sharing?
Well I have TT152. Amount still shows on left, no change in filing status. Just this damn new “still processing” message as of this morning. I liked my 1 bar accepted and being processed message much better. Nothing in the mail today. Argh. Stressed.
Shaun – I guess we’ll see what happens tomorrow and the next couple days. Keep updating, guys, ok? Makes me feel a little less nervous…
I haven’t checked transcripts – prepaid phone, no open loans, etc. When I was ignoring all the “still processing” posts, ’cause, haha, didn’t apply to me I do recall seeing a good number of people that got their bar back and went on to approved with a DDD. I’m not calling the IRS until 21 days have passed. Ugh. The one year I really really need the cash.
All I know is now I’m afraid to check the mail after work, lol. Same kids, job, address, bank as past years. Cannot imagine there is any ID verify or any issues with my return. I was ok being at received and processing for 2 weeks. Not at all happy about changing to “still processing, refund date not available” this morning :(
Hi Frustrated – I was the same as you. Filed 2/6 tho. Was on 1 bar TT152 being processed since 2/7 until this freaking morning 2/25 …when I updated to “still processing, refund date not available” which I have NEVER gotten before. Now I want that 1 damn bar back !!!!! I’ve also never updated for a Mon morning in the past. Always see changes on Weds am.
mommajess – you still waiting? Did you ever get a DDD? I updated to “still processing” this morning – very upset about that but nothing I can do.
@Tatiana – it was wishful thinking lol. I did not update last night. If memory serves me, I get my 2 bars “Approved” on WMR during the week, on a workday. I check every morning B4 I get out of bed. The next big IRS update should occur overnight Tues 2/26 so I really really hope when I wake up on Weds 2/27 I’ll be at 2 bars and approved with a DDD. F/A 2/6, both credits.
February 23, 2019 at 8:07 pm in reply to: Glorious vision of two bars and the word "Approved" but I’m still mad #4299303Those call center reps are not allowed to mention the shutdown. Grounds for firing. They are also marked off for even acknowledging the processing of tax returns is running behind this year.
February 23, 2019 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Will there be more updates tonight through Sunday? #4299281La is correct. WMR tax return updates happen overnight 3am-6am Fri and Tues…so you may see changes Sat and Wed mornings. The other down times are system maintenance. At least in past years.
Hi mommajess…glad the babies bums are covered!!! I did NOT update overnight so quite disappointed. No bad messages either, just stuck at 1 bar received and being processed. I think I remember the last 2 years updating to “Approved” on a workday so I’m thinking Wed morning. Hope that’s the case for both of us.
Glitter – your access gets unlocked at 12am. Well, prob 12:01 am. They don’t start the updates for another few hours. Check back after 6am EST!
Hey mommaj….you hanging in there ok? Got the necessities you were worried about a couple days ago? Worried about ya
I always heard 3am to 6am EST.
Aaaand tonight…Chris gets my vote for the unlubed cactus, lol !!! I will be up bright and early tomorrow and hoping for those 2 beautiful WMR bars – APPROVED!
February 22, 2019 at 8:34 pm in reply to: Anyone not have a DDD this morning but now has one? #4296200WMR updates overnight and only once per day. Check tomorrow morning and hopefully good news!
Sandra – the CP-74 letter is not a bad letter. Were you previously disqualified from receiving the EIC? The letter is going to notify you that you are eligible for the credit again, effective with the return you just filed. Too bad the rep didn’t explain it to you.
mommajess – I have also received WAY less emails from Turbotax this year. Weird. I’m sure they’re all just generic and system-generated. No Thank you from them yet either.
Several news outlets including USA Today have articles/info that tonight is the BIG IRS UPDATE night for many EITC/ACTC filers. So hopefully most of us will see some kind of update when we check WMR tomorrow morning. I believe that has been my timeframe past 2 years. Update 2 Saturdays after filing and a DD the following Thursday which would be the 28th for me…
Sounds like you had an offset and they took your whole refund. Call the offset line. Sorry…
Confused…did you have put any money towards a non-taxable benefit, like an FSA? If you put $1000 towards something like that, it’s non-taxable income. So your W2 taxable income would be less than the amount on your last paycheck.
It was fun reading everyone’s wish lists. I looked at the drone, Jesse – wow, that is a nice toy! We got clothing, vacations, cars, new apts, tvs, necessities, tuition, bills, furniture, computers, car insurance (good idea cause that bill sucks!) and….A PUPPY! Love it!
Umpqua Bank…World’s Greatest Bank. LOL…that’s how I had to answer calls for them at my old job when a client would call in. Always made me smile.
It means the offset was paid. Anything remaining from your refund you should see shortly.
Nothing changed. Being processed. I hope we will see updates when we wake up Sat morning!
Filed/accepted 2/7, EITC/ACTC, been at 1 damn bar TT152 and “return received and being processed since 2/9. Never got the PATH or I missed it, never got it last year either. Used TurboTax, no fees.
Nice! I see it now
Take the CACTUS out of your ass !
February 20, 2019 at 10:06 pm in reply to: Until I see screenshots I won’t believe PATHers with DDD #4288701Steve – I looked – those are 2 beautiful WMR bars. Sure I hope I see the same on Sat. Congrats!
February 20, 2019 at 8:35 pm in reply to: I just spoke to a real nice IRS agent over the phone… #4288370Michael the Single Dad – that makes sense. Testing the deposit process with a batch of 2/22-ers and catching any glitches would be a lot smarter than 26 million EITC taxpayers having their refunds screwed up on the 27th!
Nope. Accepted 2/6. Same kids, house, employer, bank, address, etc. Still on 1 bar, return accepted and being processed. I think I got my refund on 2/22 last year. So I will be happy if it’s in my account by the end of Feb.
Larry huff gets the cactus… WITHOUT THE LUBE!
Karen – ignore my message – sorry – I see you already gave than info. Good luck!
Hi Karen – would you mind sharing what WMR looks like for you? Do you have 1 bar…does it say being processed? Curious bc I have been stuck there for a while but cannot access my transcript to get further info. Was wondering if WMR has a message for your situation. Sorry for your delay. Tks.
Hmmm…that is interesting. I looked it up too. Says for 2018 1 qualifying child, max income is $40,320. Let us know what you find out. Glad your code wasn’t something awful lol
Thanks for the update Tushie !
Yay @momjess ! Happy for you…and hope the car/job/challenges of life with a little one get much better this year!
You really spoke with a condescending TEMPORARY call center rep who isn’t really an IRS employee. They hire on a boatload of temps for tax season, train ’em and get ’em on the phones for the onslaught of calls that start after filing day. Since they are not permanent employees there’s no real downside for them if they’re rude, lacking in knowledge (or compassion) or if they hang up on you. They’ll be long gone by the time any disciplinary measures would be put into place. Sorry someone treated you like crap.
Carolyn – could you share your accepted date? Congrats, too!
The sun is shining today. My electricity and gas are still on. Good news can be found!
February 19, 2019 at 2:01 pm in reply to: How common is it to get your deposit before your DDD update? #4282867I ALWAYS get my refund before WMR shows “Refund Sent” (3 bars) but it also ALWAYS arrives after WMR shows “Refund Approved.”
WMR still down 11:10 EST, 10:10 CST
Not sure if you typed wrong word from Facebook or if someone posted incorrect information there, but WMR will never say either of those phrases (not being critical.) They receive your RETURN, not your refund. As in:
We have received your tax return and it is being processed.
If you filed a complete and accurate tax return, your refund should be issued within 21 days of the received date. However, processing may take longer under certain circumstances.February 16, 2019 at 12:23 pm in reply to: Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when av #4273984JayJ – did you change your filing status when you filed or did the IRS change it after you filed?
