If I have an offset thats going to come out of my refund, does that delay my refund being sent?
We think we might see deposits before opening in some case when in a test batch.
This is our refund cycle chart that predict how it will go down this year.
Yes that means you are in a test batch. But if claimed EITC or ACTC refund is subject to the Path Act and will be held until after 2/16.
President’ss Day will play a role with PATH this year.
If it works like other years:
Thursday 2/15 PATH “expires” but we won’t see anything change on transcripts or WMR.
Friday 2/16 transcripts will update with Code 846 Refund Issued for Thursday 2/22.
Saturday 2/17 WMR will update with Direct Deposit Date for Thursday 2/22.
*There are cases where some people may get a direct deposit earlier than 2/22. In the cases where someone meets all of these conditions 1) Paid Fees Up Front 2) Did NOT take a refund advance and 3) uses a NHB (no hold bank), a direct deposit could post to their account 1-4 days earlier.
In these cases we anticipate the first date actual money could post is Friday 2/16 in the early afternoon.
No it does not have that in the language of bill. Here is more information, it’s primarily an adjustment of the refundable portion, the amount of credit is not changing.

It just made it out of committee and went to House Floor on Friday. So it hasn’t passed yet. We will update that article as things progress and more information becomes available
Fellow Pather here…CTC, EITC. Filed 1/18 w/FreeTax, no accepted msg yet. Maybe on 1/29? No advance or fees. Cycle code 05, so I wait for Friday after 2/15….
I filed with Freetax USA on 1/16. Accepted on 1/18..I do not have the situation that puts me on the path journey. I have CTC though.

I filed 1/15 got accepted 1/19 through TT does that mean I was a test batch and if so will I get my refund before the normal feb17 it says estimated feb 9 online

Okay, so forgive me for my slowness lol, but. With the proposed new child tax credit for 2023. Does it mean that we will get an extra 1800 on our refund? Or how does it exactly work?
I’ve been using FreeTaxUSA for years. I’m a Pather, and always file before the season opens. Every year my return is accepted before opening day, then I wait until mid-Feb. This year I filed 1/18, and received msg stating it wouldn’t be accepted til 1/29. Are they holding them? Anyone else?
I’m a non pather filed and accepted 1/17. Anyone else? I’m thinking first DDD will be 2/1 or 1/31?
I filed on 1/18 with HRB (I use them every year) and so far I’m not accepted yet. I’m still getting the error, we don’t recognize you message on WMR, hoping to get into the test batch next week. I’m a weekly too so I would love it if I could see an update next Saturday that my refund was approved a DDD of 1/31 but I doubt that will happen at this point.

I’ve been accepted in the last 3 years early. However, I file my own taxes and don’t pay fee for professionals Or ever get advanced. Just want to give you guys some insight on my experiences. Last year I got my DD on the 25th.

I used TurboTax refund advance. they quoted me a $750 advance but actually deposited a $1500 advance. so that was a nice surprise
And yes that amounts matched both years. Last year was actually bigger but that’s because my return was a lot bigger

CTC EIC ACTC used TaxAct, no advance. I see an update every year Feb. 26.I haven’t seen a lot of HRB fillers either. Alot of people were inquiring about the HRB advance.
They accept on weekends during regular filing season when it officially opens on 1/29. But during test batches, we haven’t seen any today. We think the testing will start again on Monday.

Good luck everybodyThis is my second year doing it the amount was spot on what I was pre-approved for both years. The only drawback is the first year I did it I had to wait for the card to come in to access the money I do believe there is a way to transfer it off the credit karma card before you get it but I just waited

Good luck everybodyThis question is for those who have e-filed and have been accepted by IRS already with TurboTax Refund Advance. When you received your deposit in your CK card, did the amount match your pre-qualification amount? If it wasn’t, the amount received was more or less? And is this your first or second time doing the refund advance?

Just trying to figure out if it’s worth doing it for me because my pre-qualified amount is small but I’ve seen people say where they got more than what they pre-qualified for when filing. Also, is it true that you will get more if you have a completed W2? It doesn’t make sense to me because if the info matches with your last paystub…what’s the difference? Does their system know your job has completed their W2s?

I filed about 4pm CST 1/19. Not accepted yet per TaxAct still waiting acceptance. Does anyone know if updates about being accepted are made on weekends?
Okay Okay I know it’s early but I filed turbo tax with advance and fees coming out of refund and going on credit karma card. Filed 1/16 git accepted today 1/19 advance hit 10 minutes later! Now just a waiting game til Feb 17th update usually see my refund between 18th-25th every year! Who’s ready to count down with me!
Filed late last night but it was 1/19/24 when I submitted it.
It was accepted today 1/19/24 about an hour ago and already shows one bar.So filed 1/9, got accepted today. Says ACTC doesn’t get issued until late Feb, so we will see.

What is the significance of the 01/22 date in TT ? Does it mean they will ‘file us’ on that day or does it have more significance? Im wondering because I did NOT ask for advance and I paid fees up front. Is this anyone else’s situation with a 01/22 date on TT??? Do you know what it means? Thanks
So im thinking information doesn’t match means you haven’t been recognized by the IRS for this tax year. I filed TT 01/18 paid fees upfront did not apply for advance (got burned last year) and here I am PATHer again wishing I got picked for test batch! Thought I would because it already has a 01/22 date listed in TT and the second date is the date I filed. Whats with the 01/22? Anyone know? Nice to be back 5 years here…. The waiting is the hardest part.

If it says information does may match, it hasn’t been accepted yet.
ACTC is subject to PATH Act where your return can be accepted and processed. But a refund will be held until after 2/16.
You can use our refund cycle chart to get an idea when updates will happen to refunds subject to PATH Act.
Filed today, TT with fees and advance, not accepted as of yet.
I filed at lunch today TT so I am a 01/18 filer. Paid fees upfront. My TT also says submitted 01/22 and then pending 01/18 like backwards dates. Could I be in an early batch with dependents??
I have experienced this. In 2020, they changed the ACTC. I had already filed. I received a letter stating I would get the rest owed to me the following year. Another time, the IRS adjusted the CTC for me, and I got the correct amount due. The IRS will post an announcement under “news” stating how we reconcile the difference.
