@butta Code 971 is for miscellaneous actions. So I can’t really tell you. I know that weekly cyclers are accounts that has been flagged for identity theft, offsets and collections, foreign accounts, etc. Individual IRS codes on transcripts don’t mean much by itself, especially miscellaneous ones.

Does anyone know if sbbt used irs info or turbotax info for ddd? I’m an early filer and still at one bar. I think I got my refund last year before wmr showed any movement. Sbbt says ddo of 2/2 but I’ve never gotten a refund on any other day but Friday, so 2/2 would mean 1/29 right?

To my knowledge, I have been on weekly for about that long as well and have not had any IRS debt through my lifetime. Suppose some of us are just ‘lucky’ enough to get on that weekly cycle.

Thanks to identity stealery, we cannot order online transcripts this year. However thanks to this lovely group, last year I was able to order mine online and see the ‘cycle code’. This is an 8 digit code on your transcript that gives the tax year, processing week, and day of the week you are processed. Mine ended in 05, which is the final day of the processing week which generally denotes a ‘weekly’ update.

From what I understand, most folks who are ‘weekly’ before, tend to be ‘weekly’ throughout though perhaps someone can correct me if this assumption is wrong.

Some update ‘daily’ on cycles, and their codes could end in anything from 01(Friday) to 04(Wednesday). Us ‘weekly’ cyclers have those that end in (05)Thursday. My past 3 years of transcripts ended in 05.

I asked a local tax preparer about this and he had no idea about it (and was upset I refused to pay the company $300+ to file my taxes when I could easily do them myself for a small fraction of that). However he said if I was right about getting processed on Thursday, that should mean an update by this weekend. Fingers crossed!

ok so i just called the IRS to see if i could get any information and the lady stated that she is not allowed to get into the system till the 21 days are up…….I only called due to the fact that my ex husband is bitter that i have the children to claim per a court order and he has threatened me with call the irs to make a delay. i filled on the 9th accepted the 12th and still at one bar cant order transcripts im so upset right now i have never waited longer than this i need that money my mistake for planning on any of it but still being a single mom it sucks. congrats to all you who get yours on friday.

I just spoke to the irs after 20 times of trying to get through. They will not advise on ANYTHING until 21 days after our taxes were received. I was an early filer as well and I’m still at one bar and can’t get a transcript its hard to tell who has really talked to the irs and who hasn’t and the lady I spoke to was very generic and just repeated herself that she can’t look at any returns and I would have to call back in a few weeks. Let’s cross our fingers.

@Kaylee You seem extremely knowledgeable about the policy of IRS. Let me ask you a question. I am a weekly account. The last time I’ve had collection activity was 2012. My question is…will code 971 throw my account back into the weekly pile? According to the policy I’ve read via the link you posted it said two years prior of Tax Module along with only items will mark your account as weekly. Tax year 2014 last transaction code was 971 0.00 on my transcript.

While happy for those receiving good news, it certainly is perplexing to me, that others accepted after me, are getting approved before me. I have filed with H&R block online, for at least the last 6 years. I have the same job, same dependants, I did move but other than that there’s no change. I have a simple return. Last year I sold some stock, and took a hardship withdrawal from my 401k . My return was accepted early, and sent out with the first batch. Guess you can never predict uncle Sam!! Sorry just a little frustrated, as my fiancee lost his job 2 days before Christmas and we are needing this money in a bad way this year! Happy Wednesday all!

PEOPLE…..No one has been over the 21 day mark. You can not start counting down from the day you got accepted for early filers. You may have been accepted during testing but no one’s return was processed before the 19th. Everyone just needs to chill and your money will come soon enough. I feel bad for the employees that work for the IRS. You people are ridicules. Good grief.

Well seems like progress is moving for some people! I filed on 1/7 accepted on 1/14 and still nothing. I tried ordering transcripts still nothing. Last year I filed early and had a dad date of 2/5 but got refund on deposit on 1/29 to net spend card. Hopefully the rest of us early fliers hear something soon!!!

Still nothing in my end. Filed with taxact in 01/09 accepted 01/13. No approval, no DD date, and still unable to order my transcripts. I have filed with taxact since 2010 and I have never waited this long, specially with no movement. I am starting to think they are dragging their feet…

I know that many people are having this issue, but thought maybe we could connect and try to figure it out and update each other.

I’m in KY. I filed on Friday 1/22 and was accepted a few minutes later. I filed married/joint and my husband is the primary name on our return. We also moved back in May 2015. On Monday evening I was able to enter the transcript ordering process with his info, but only with our old address. It showed 2015 account and return as an option, but when I tried to order, it said “unavailable” of course. Yesterday morning, I tried again and it didn’t find his info at all. Not with our old address or new address. I tried my info and it worked with our old address, but they were still unavailable for 2015. Later, around noon, it stopped finding my info too. It’s like neither of us exist in the system anymore. Everyone was hoping this meant that they were processing ours, but I’m not sure now. I tried ordering by phone last night, and it’s still finding us by our old address. I don’t know what to make of it. Why does it find us by phone, but not by website? As of this morning, 1 bar on WMR and still no info found for transcripts. Please share your stories!

I will never file early again. This is the first year I was accepted in the test batch and the first year I haven’t gotten my DD with the first batch. I know just cause we were accepted early didn’t mean they started processing before anyone else but shouldn’t we at least be getting them with everyone else who filed after us? I thought I was doing good by getting mine in and it would hopefully be one of the first ones out, but apparently not. This is crazy.

To everyone who believed we who posted yesterday that we were able to order transcripts, I wonder why you believe anyone would have to lie about that. This is the first year I learned if you are able to order your current year’s transcript, then your return has been processed. I tried it yesterday based off of information I read on this forum and was successful. I decided to post my news to offer encouragement despite the anxiety feuled negativity I have read being posted by others. Instead, I along with others who gave transcript updates yesterday were accused of lying. Smdh

Last night I tried and my old address is invalid but I can’t put my new address in correctly due to the apartment number. So mine has been processed because the addr as has been updated.
