Hey! I got accepted pretty quick this time around as well.. filed yesterday got accepted today. Went through TT and for the first ever qualified for the advance which is much needed right now! It would be great if the ddd was early next month but I’m thinking mid to late feb based on last year via credit karma debit card.

Ours (MFJ) went up 20%, not counting what we received from stimulus ly. It would be more with that included. Our income did go up 15%, so that accounts for a good chunk of it. We do get the CTC, but no additional credits (that matter anyway).

So my return was rejected with E-File stating that I needed a Pin. I did the retrieve my pin tool with IDME went so far as to upload my Birth Certificate, Passport, W2, and a selfie, was in a “waiting room” to be video conferenced in to verify everything, and then was told to sign in again. My account was then suspended when I tried to sign in and I sent in a ticket and they said it was suspended indefinitely for suspicious activity.

NOW WHAT?? How to I retrieve my pin?

So this year our return drastically went down. None of the Covid times credits applied to us but even with two dependents and the credits my return went down a LOT. I’m trying to figure out what exactly is causing the changes. We did not get the large CTC last year as my dependents are older. The change to the childcare credit doesn’t apply either. I’m honestly baffled that it dropped by half. Did I miss some huge changes in EIC or something?

Turbo tax will not let me efile without completing the form 8915-F (Disaster Distribution) which isn’t available yet. I somehow selected that option by accident and cannot figure out how to unselected it in order to move forward. I’ve tried everything including contacting Turbo tax. Has anyone experienced this?

yes i had that cannot verify information error. I went into my credit karma account settings and changed my name to exactly how it is on w2 ( short name instead of legal name) then i tried again and it worked. good luck i hope you get it figured out

@ Unnamed, not necessarily. The official start of tax season is the 23rd, Anything before that is the test batch they do every year. My understanding with the test batch is that they try about ten million or so just to get out the quirks. I also read that the test batch was from the 18th till tomorrow, So you very well may get selected. It’s all random. I got a text on my phone saying Irs had accepted me, then an email was waiting from turbo tax today.

Just got Accepted email from Turbo Tax..( hang in there Queenie) I went on WMR just to make sure it was official. Yup, It’s on one bar. This year I’m not looking everyday. I have always been a weekly, I may check next Saturday.. We got This!

I filed on the 17th with Taxact. I haven’t gotten any notification from either the IRS or Taxact, but I checked on the IRS site and it shows that it was accepted on 1/18. Not sure why we’re not getting notified.

I filed with TT on 1/17….I know that the IRS is not accepting until 1/23 but it I remember correctly in years prior I would get a notification from the IRS telling me that it was received within 24 hours of filing but I have got no such notice this year. Should I be concerned?

Just wondering if anyone else is still waiting on their refund from last year? Filed in March and had to do ID verification in April. For months wmr gave me the “your return is still being processed” message. At some point recently (within the last month) wmr changed to “we have received your return and it is being processed”. Is this a good thing? I’ve tried to call the irs multiple times and can never get anyone on the phone. I’m gonna try tomorrow and hope I get ahold of someone.

That really seems off. Tax preparation is really only expensive if you have a lot of itemizations or rental properties, businesses etc. things that make it more complicated. Obviously I don’t know the details of your returns but paying over 2-300 seems excessive unless you have complicated returns. Looks like they was just trying to dangle upfront monies to make a 300% profit. How unscrupulous if true…

The IRS announced yesterday the official opening for the tax season is January 23rd. Sometimes you could be accepted into a test batch. Although the test batch can go smoothly and people will see their refunds early, they aren’t always smooth and some refunds can actually be delayed.

Here is our estimate for when test batches and first acceptances might be seen.
