Yes he should get back something extra for the federal 10% taxes taken out on the first 10,200 he received.
I also had the 10% taken from my weekly payments along with the extra federal boost payments
@RN2020. Anyone who filed before the new tax law for unemployment went into affect will receive the difference sometime in early May aslong as your a single or HOH filer, joint filers who both have unemployment will come in June. DONT AMEND unless the irs tells u too, it will mess up everything. I filed on 2/25 rcvd refund w/out adjustment on 3/17
@RN2020. Read this article, don’t amend. If ur required to amend the irs will tell you. Their suppose have a portal similar to the WMR one come early May to check on the difference

I had the 3/26 mail date and received my paper check on 4/5.

So weird. Maybe your also receiving a “plus up payment?”. Some ppl did when it’s sent them 1400 for themselves, but didn’t include one or all of their dependents bcuz their 2020 taxes weren’t completed, or they used the 2019 info and the 2019 didn’t show all dependents.
Idk really, but let me know what outcome is, I’m very curious now. Good luck

I’m trying send u an article but for some reason it isn’t going thru. It’s states do not amend unless told todo so. If u didn’t file jointly with a spouse who also had unemployment, then we are to receive the diff in early May. Ppl who filed jointly and both received unemployment, they will receive their diff in early June.

Some ppl didn’t get the full amount for dependents bcuz some of their 2020 returns weren’t fully processed yet, so they ended up getting two separate checks. Maybe that’s the case with yours. But if u see the 123 anywhere in ur ID then it def should be ur payment. I had 3/26 date nd mine showed up that way too rcvd on 4/5

Obviously idk all the facts, but after reading forum after forum, it seems most HRB filers haven’t received any info on how much their returns will be raised due to unemployment tax forgiveness. I used HRB free file myself.
Others who used Turbo or Tax Act said their able to log into their account they setup when filing return and see the difference in the refund amount. I read somewhere with the first 10,200, we should get atleast $1200 back from that
Don’t file an amended return for the unemployment. The IRS will be reissuing those credits to us sometime in early May.
Only reason they say to amend is if u didn’t qualify for the EIC before the unemployment tax forgiveness. I alrdy recvd my refund with EIC for my daughter, unemployment taxes paid out and I’m waiting to get my adjusted unemployment taxes paid refund in May.

Try to check the box under the image on the usps website, it’ll say “I didn’t receive this item or something to that fact”. They should reissue that mail piece within 2 days. I had todo that with my tag registration last month, it showed up in my email but didn’t arrive in mailbox. I checked the little box nd it came 2 days later.
Idk if it’s the same for the stimulus but it should be, it’s either sitting at local P.O. or it’s on the mailman truck. Good luck
Is the 3000 including your actual refund amount too, or was that how much ur refund amount went up after unemployment tax bill?

The letter was for my roomate 2nd stimmy, dated 3/26 and arrived on Thursday 4/1 I believe.
I got my 2nd stimmy letter back in Feb 2021!
Finally got the 3/26 mailed check yesterday 4/5.
I’m praying you get yours today if u didn’t receive it yet

I definitely think your all good. If your name has the II after it, then they messed up when typing the address and your name.
I wouldn’t worry aslong as u can see return address is from philadelphia or from Nebraska

Absolutely no exact way to know except for checking the usps informed delivery app every morning and of course your mailbox.
Just today I finally received my 3/26 mailed payment, I got the check from dept of treasury bureau of fiscal services from Philly pennsylvania. Cards r supposed come from Nebraska. Alot of other 3/26 ppl still haven’t gotten theirs yet, mail taking 7-10 days sometimes longer. GOOD LUCK

Mine on ID says valued citizen also, addressed from dept of treasury bureau fiscal dept from pennsylvania. ID won’t show your actual name due to security reasons.
My last stimmy check form came from exact same address. I’ve been told the cards come from Nebraska. But ID won’t show ur name. Even my 2nd stimmy letter from austin tx didn’t show my name on ID@Anne.
On ID it will show valued citizen 123 anywhere street, anytime usa 12345 (apparently they show up this way on ID for security reasons), BUT when u get the actual mail piece it will be addressed to your actual name, otherwise how would the mailman know what or who’s mailbox to put them in? Mine is addressed from dept of treasury bureau of fiscal dept from PA.

Idk how most of the 3/26 mail date ppl including myself (southwest florida, Venice) is still waiting for this crap to show up. 8 friggin mailing days and still nothing. Some ppl in other towns 20mins from me and others in diff states 8-20 hours from me received theirs alrdy.
Obviously their sending these out sporadically. I have no real explanation. I’m just over this frustration & disappointment. We ALL better see our payments in our mailboxes tomorrow!!

Well idk how true that is bcuz with my situation, my husband got his refund on 3/10, then his 3rd stimulus on 3/17.
I’m still waiting for my 3/26 mailed payment to come for my stimulus..

EXACTLY this is pure INSANITY and INCOMPETENCE. I’m praying we all get ours on Monday if it doesn’t show today.
Alot of ppl said it didn’t show up on their ID, so I’m still hoping my mail lady has it in her hand, whenever the hell she gets here that is!!!

I’m in south Venice florida and of course today of all days the mail is running late. Someone in Sarasota, town only 25 mins away got theirs today too. Few in tampa, clearwater, ocala, ft Lauderdale and a few other locations.

Yep I’m still waiting in Venice Florida for the damned 3/26 mailed payment. Idfk what’s going on, alot of ppl got theirs and alot haven’t. Some ppl who live minutes and hours from my area got theirs last week and today. Seems the mail is all over the place. Supposedly now they say if ur 3/26 didn’t arrive yet, that it’s supposed be here by 4/7!!! Why didn’t they just say that from the getgo? I’m having hard time believing ANYTHING ANYMORE. Yes, ur good. I believe checks come from PA and cards come from NE or UT.
But your definitely getting ur payment is some form.
I’m in Venice south of tampa still waiting for my 3/26 mailed payment. Someone in Sarasota got theirs today and I can literally take a friggin scat bus to where they live or drive 25 mins, and mine didn’t show up on ID. Hoping it just didn’t scan, mail hasn’t ran yet

Georgia, when my ID showed a blue and white notice saying important info about ur economic payment is coming, it was the damn notice for my roommates 2nd stimulus, it was addressed from austin texas.

Ya I get mine via mail since the first payment too. I did see where other ppl said they had a 3/31 and a 3/30 mail date, so it seems their sending them out in batches.
It really doesn’t make any sense as to why everyone’s payments are taking so long, it’s very frustrating.

Maybe they didn’t have ur dd info nd sent check/card instead. Was told they quit dd on 3/24(wed)? That they do dd on wed and mailings on Fri.
And ur friend can click button below his ID image that says”I didn’t receive this mail piece”, they could possibly reissue it to them from the PO, or it could be in truck still. Had that happen 2me b4 and I got that specific mail piece the nxt dayI’m counting lol, your now the 3rd florida person receiving their $$.

Yesterday I had the same damn thing come in ID from Austin TX and it ended up being the stupid letter they send about when ur 2nd stimulus was sent out. The letter was dated for 3/26, so it makes no sense how they can mail a letter out on the same date our 3rd is supposed be mailed, but yet the $ doesn’t arrive at the same time. I’m OVER this BS
