@whatthebleep That is a good thing your WMR changed, hopefully get DDD by Thursday. I still have not seen any change on my WMR. My funds were unfrozen on 4/10 but still no update. My return was forward to IS department on 2/25. Hopefully we will see a DDD this week.

@j33 my WMR changed to the received processing message this morning, but no dd yet filed 2/23 accepted 2/23 started processing 2/28 went through normal processing and was assigned to someone injured spouse dept on march 18, which is the processing date it shows on my transcript by the way, from there it usually takes 4-6 weeks to see a dd- if your return had no other issues- I did my taxes myself on turbotax as I do every year.

I just got done talking with an IRS advocate, since we are in financial difficulties right now. She was really nice and she is getting my account expedited. I am so thankful. Thank you everyone for all the great information. Hopefully this will help. If anyone else has real bad problems call the advocate line they are really helpful. Their number is 1-877-777-4778 or TTY/TTD: 1-800-829-4059. Call they have been so helpful so far.

The department you get transferred to is actually called advanced individual accounts if you want to ask the operator to connect you to that instead of saying injured spouse. They are the dept that deals with injured spouse claims as well as a few others.

so I called both numbers ( 800-304-3107 and 800-829-1040) and got nothing useful from either of them. the lady on the 3107 number said that she couldn’t tell me anything about my offset or my IS form and the 1040 number just gave me automated responses…I just would like to know when my release date it, if its available! gah

@maximo2 hang in there. I am waiting with you. I am already at 8 weeks and I am still waiting. @brokeandfrustrated hang in there too. We are strapped for cash too. From now on I am not filing an injured spouse form until they send a letter. Also I now would rather owe the IRS rather than have the IRS owe us. It’s so stupid. All the people I have spoke with from the IRS have no answers except that I have to wait till May the 4th to the 8th to finish processing the paperwork. WHY? It isn’t rocket science… SIGH.

Found out today why my form didnt go thru, it wasnt processed correctly the agent that sent it off forgot to include my 10 number id. So when they had the DD ready they had no clue who to send it to, he is resubmitting it in the morning he says…..hopefully two week wait and not another 8.

I have to take care and maintain my uniform bu my own. I have recently heard about Uniform Tax rebate and I came to know that I can have the tax benefit of maintaining work place uniform.
Can anyone please tell me what is the procedure to file for Uniform tax rebate?

Well I have been monitoring this forum for about the last month. I filed my taxes back on 2/1 and was accepted 2/2 the Irs however has me being accepted 2/5. I can’t seem to get anything but the same old 11week spill. This is my third time filing as an injured spouse I never really counted the days. This year has been super tough financially on my family so I am on edge as to when we will receive our $$. I see some that have filed after me yet they say they have received there DD.

@brokeandfrustrated that’s how she said it “could” go, but that doesn’t mean everyone will have to wait that long I hope. She said that they have had cases where it has taken 3-10 days after deposit date for people to actually have money in hand, so she wanted me to be prepared in case it happens to me. I don’t know the reason behind it, and she could only tell me it was to do with their deposit system. I bank with USAA so I’m not too worried about any issues on my end. I am also extremely flustered by all of the IRS’s huge failures at communication, and disorganization, and I’m a pretty easy going gal :-) the way I have looked at it is this : it is what it is. No matter what I do, they are going to do what they do, and my money is going to be released when they release it. A TA is out of the question for me because I’m not financially struggling,so all I can do is hope that someone there is doing their job. For all of you out there that do rely on this refund to balance your budget, you are not alone we have all been there and that’s why we come back to this site over and over because two minds are better than one, and the more knowledge we share the more informed we are on what lies ahead.

I thought that the money is supposed to go into our account on the exact DD that they give us….It is so wrong how IRS jerks us all around. I know one thing, after going though the long wait this year I will think twice before filing an injured spouse form again.

Hey @maximo2 sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I also filed wit TT, and I just talked with the irs actually and they said I should get my dd this week, but they said that it could take anywhere from 3-10 days after my deposit date to actually receive the funds in my bank. I’m hoping that applies to you too, and that you will receive funds this week. The rep I had was extremely helpful and nice I’m assuming because calls have slowed down, so if I were you I would call again oh and I also only waited on hold for 7 minutes.

They have been telling me for the last month that refund is there just waiting for DD but ITS BEEN SITTING THERE FOR A MONTH. I’m starting to think it somehow got forgotten by their system, but I’m scared to ask for a release of funds cause they say that can take up to 30 days which may delay longer. But I’ll probably hear the same thing when my 1-2 weeks is up. Do you call IRS, what have they told you?

Still nothing. Just called “well its sitting there ready for DD but hasn’t been through that part of the system yet, should definitly have it in 1-2 weeks” what BS. Any injured spouse people got theirs yet?

Yes, it does suck that we have to wait but at least its not just me! Here’s my story: I filed and was accepted 2/22 (Friday) with the injured spouse form through TurboTax. I have been looking every day at WMR and it changed about 2 weeks after I filed to “its being processed and you’ll get a refund date when available” blah blah blah. I went online today and checked WMR and the status has changed to “we have received your refund and it is being processed”. What I’m hoping is that, based on others experiences via reading this forum, that my family will get our refund within this week. I’ll keep you posted! Fingers crossed!

I got my transcripts and it says that they finally processed our refund on March the 11th, but they got the return on February 16th. I am so upset right now. I am so upset to about how the IRS personnel or so rude and inconsiderate. Wow… Good luck to all of you.

Got orange bar thingy that they received but the last week and half it changed to no bar, just a message: Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.” Did call in to many phone # and finally spoke to an actual live person…told me that they received my return & it’s been assigned to someone for processing. Status: well, told could take to the end of May to complete a return w/IS attached. Our tax dollars at work…they can take our money faster but that can’t process it due to bureaucratic BS (debt ceiling, fiscal crisis, etc) We’re basically paying for them to all sit in DC with their finger in their butts. We found out that our house is now being condemned, so thankfully the FB group was able to tell me about tax advocates. I called them, and was informed not only did we have an offset with the Department of Education, but now the IRS is saying that we owe $2800 is back taxes from 2008, which is ridiculous. I called the IRS and was able to straighten it out, but so thankful to the advocates, because otherwise I would never have known. Plus, they are working on an expedition of our refund for hardship, since we will have no place to live in 2 weeks. I definitely recommend them if you have an imminent problem and you need your refund to get to you faster. My plan had been to wait it out, unfortunately that is no longer an option…

I was accepted 1/24 , I had education credits so waited till 2/14. I was told that my return went to IS department on 2/25 and I had to wait 11 weeks from 2/25. He said if I did not have my refund by then to call back and ask for a TA . He did say my return is still being proceeded, since I do not need the injured spouse I asked him if there was anything I can do. He then just told me to hold and reviewed my account and he took the time to take off the freeze off my account, he told me to hold on the line till he finished unfreezing my funds. He then told me I was all set. I have called 4 other times since I filed to let the IRS know I did not need the form and they all told me I had to wait it out and there was nothing I could do. I did ask to speak to the inured spouse line and when representative came on line the first thing he asked if I filed injured spouse claim. So I’m guessing only the injured spouse department can remove form since this is the only time I asked to speak to someone in insured spouse department. Does anyone knowhow long it would take after they unfreeze funds to get DDD? I forgot to ask I was just so happy that he removed form.

Filed 01/26 w/ Turbo Tax. F/A 01/31. wmf switched from ddd to offset on 2/16. Didn’t know about IS until end of February. Sent 8379 to IRS on 3/01. Have been waiting since. Got a TA and talked to her on 04/01 (no April fools ). She told me the IRS has my IS but wouldn’t or couldn’t tell me when it was received. Faxed her my papers 2 times that week. Got a VM from a lady telling me she was taking over my case from the other TA and she can’t find my papers to fax them to he. Offset is from husband’s Dept ED from loans before we were married, Community Prop state AZ.OH, I ordered my transcripts yesterday when I found this group and saw that most of you had done that. Is there anything else I should do/have done?

Will update if I ever see any money!!!!

One burst of good news, I called the IRS today, and of course, was told that they will have no information until the 11th week. I then called the offset office, and it looks like the offset has already been received and dispersed to the Department of Education, so I know at least know what the amount of my refund will be, which is actually much more than I anticipated. Still no word on the timeline, but the 11th week starts on April 29th, so I am hoping to hear something soon.

This is my second year filing IS, but since my husband is the IS, and for tax year 2011 he had no income, we received our 2011 refund quickly, because there wasn’t much refunded.

2012 is a whole different story. I filed our taxes on 2/11, it was accepted on 2/11. IS form was filed electronically with our taxes. The non-tax debt is defaulted student loans in my name. For 2012, my husband was the higher earner, which is good, but we also spent 6 months in Louisiana and 6 months in Washington, both of which have different community property laws, so I imagine this process is going to take a while. I have not heard anything from the IRS as of yet, but I also haven’t made any calls to them either. I will probably try calling them tomorrow, does anyone have a recommendation on which number to try?

Thanks for listening to my story, I am definitely not impatient, since I have so much experience dealing with IRS issues, but I admit the wait is frustrating.

Filed on 2/11 accepted on 2/13. i called in at about 5 weeks 800-829-0582 x362 and they basically told me to keep checking the website-which still says “still being processed- a refund date will be provided when available”. so i waited. today i called and upon hearing a human-i asked what ‘accepted’ meant-and was told that they run it thru a few quick checks, names, ss#’s additional filings-and if all is well it moves on-i then stated my file date & said i hadn’t heard a word via mail, email or otherwise and that i was terrified that i had done something wrong-being a novice at this-she laughed and said she would look up our filing-she came back with-oh i see you filed an injured spouse form and that takes 11 weeks-giving me the date of april 29th. she said that from what she could tell we hadn’t made any mistakes and that she had no idea what the offset dept was doing so that it was taking so long-but we should see a dd within a couple of weeks…that may sound like a long time but up until i heard that i was dealing with the time frame of never-forever….anyway she also stated that if i hadnt heard anything to be sure to call back so that they could escalate my filing and get a supervisor to figure why we had a delay-she asked how many times i had called before early in our convo-so this was also promising…i know i’m not giving a whole lot of help-but maybe just a little hope :)

in reply to: 2013 Injured Spouse #17984

The status doesn’t. Change much just the “a refund date will be provided when available ” disappeared about 3 days before deposit I got mine last Thursday and wmr still says processing, I’m guessing it because you original tax return is changed as the amounts are so it doesn’t update? Also some people get TA’s and that speeds it up a lot also your file date doesn’t have anything to do with how long you’ve been waiting even if you filed 1/1/13 the IRS didn’t open until 1/30 (they did run test batches) but when you have education credits it wasn’t accepted until 2/14 that means you are in the 7th week of waiting maybe the 8th tomorrow I am a 0605’er I got mine last week so maybe 2 more weeks but I also got a TA and 3 days later mine was processed

I called IRS yesterday and they told me if I do not have any changes on WMR by Friday to call them since my 11 week was Friday. I was previously told by IRS rep. I had to wait till end of April for my 11th week . My cycle date is 805, I did see on Facebook Injured spouse page that there is still people waiting for refunds with 605 and 705 cycle dates but there is some 805 cycle dates that have received there DDD. Also seems as not many people are getting DDD this week.

This is our first year filing injured spouse. The VA over paid my husband when he was using the GI Bill last year and he was told they would deduct what he owes from our taxes… which would have been the whole refund.

We filed electronically on 2/21and it was accepted pretty much right away, though I can’t remember the exact date. Our WMR states that it is still processing and a refund date will be provided when available… so just like everyone else… we wait.

I did order the transcript from the IRS and it states 4/15/13 as the Received Date. What does that mean? Also our cycle is 20130905… does that mean anything useful?

We’ll be going on 7 weeks this Thursday since filing… should we be seeing something soon?
