Oh snap I spoke too soon, apparently mine updated in the course of the day today (because this morning it still looked the same as it hasd for 5 weeks) and it looks like my refund is on it’s way! Dunno if it will be DD or check or what day it will arrive but there is hope! Here’s what I’m seeing now:

        150 Tax return filed. Cycle 20140705 3/3/14

@cbp1230, I’ll keep you updated if I get any good news and you do the same. Hopefully we will hear something soon…sooner rather than later.

Has anyone received a refund that was a teensy tiny portion, and wheresmyrefund said that it sent your refund already? We mailed our taxes and they were received feb 10. I called and the guy at irs said that they received our taxes and the injured spouse form. Was the tiny little amount the total that we will receive?? Oh gosh… I hope not. lol

I called 18008291040 pressed 1 then pressed 2 then 0, when the operator answered I asked to speak with someone in the IS dept… the wait time is ridiculous so be prepared:) I hope you get to speak with a nice person! Please let me know how it goes!

Thanks whatthebleep! I hope I dont have to deal with anyone else from the irs, the first guy I spoke with yesterday morning had me crying my eyes out, he literally laughed me off the phone bc I kept asking for some sort of information regarding our taxes. He never even ask for my name or any identifying information, just kept saying if the wmr says youre still processing then your still processing. I tried explaining that it had already been six weeks and I had not heard anything… so after finally regaining my composure I called again and requested to speak with someone in the IS Dept., after waiting on hold for an hour and 15 minutes I got through to the nicest guy ever! He explained that my taxes had to be processed regularly then they were transferred to his dept. where they work out the IS Form, he said they have 8 wks but it usually takes about three… so confusing and nerve wrecking! However having this place to discuss these things really does help!

Been lurking for a while, you guys really help this time go by. My transcripts are sitting with my 971 rcvd 2/16/14 with an as of date of 3/17. Called 3/20 was advised my case closed that morning and to allow 4-6 weeks. No change since then, now I guess it’s just more waiting.

@chattycathy that’s ok I still don’t know a lot of the acronyms people talk about on here…or even in text messages for that matter… anyways a tax advocate is someone that can help you get your refund faster if you have a hardship and are in serious need of your money. Sometimes they require proof of hardship and sometimes they don’t, depends on who you get. A tax advocate can help or hinder the situation, it just depends on how close you were to being finished before the TA stepped in.

Hey whatthebleep, I am not sure what a tax advocate is lol :-) I was just hoping you or someone could explain this to me. Like I said its my first year filing IS, before this year I just filed and within two weeks BAM! I had my money. I got married last year so filing joint itself was new! I didnt even know what a transcript was until I found this forum :) I kinda stalked for a while before commenting. I must say its nice to be in touch with people who are experiencing the same nightmare, it all seems much less scary. Also I have seen that a lot of people that were cycle 605 have received their refund, so hopefully all of us in the 705 will be next, impatiently waiting to check transcript tomorrow!

@Elizabeth Johnson I had to use my husbands info to log in to transcripts bc it kept saying my info was wrong. Once i got in I created an account so I just log in now to check. Hopefully, that works for you, too.

No news here…I’m able to get into my transcripts and it’s still sitting at 971 Injured Spouse Claim Received 2.16.13 $0.00…So, I’m thinking I’m gonna do my best to just forget about checking every day because it seems there’s never a change. Not gonna waste my time calling because I’m only at week 5 and I know they’ll give me the whole “please allow 8 weeks” crap. When my husband was investigating the root of his offset a crazy lady at the IRS told him it would take SIX MONTHS for us to get our money. Are you freaking kidding me?

I dont know how else you can look at your transcripts but I created an account on the irs get transcripts page so I just have to log in and download to view them… is this what everyone else does?

Hey :-) no updates here, hoping for one tomorrow on transcripts tho…

@chattycathy- usually they will dd if you filed the 8379 with your taxes, if you mailed it after filing, or if you get a tax advocate they usually mail it. If you get a tax advocate they will give you the option of getting a check in the mail, or waiting another 2-3 weeks for the dd, so most choose the check.

@elizabeth- I was able to view my transcripts today, and I have never had any trouble getting into them at all, so maybe you not being able to view them is a good sign? Crossing my fingers for you good luck!

nothing to update here. I tried to get my transcripts and it locked me out I have only been able to look at them once this year. I filled on the 2/10 taxes were taken sent in my IS on the 2/14 they received it on 2/18 and i had the 806 766 and 768 with negative numbers but nothing else. I have been seeing many people that have had the same stuff as mine but no one seems to have gotten a refund. I also like in AZ and taxes were taken for CS for my husbands other child

I tried to get my transcripts online but got locked out of the system with it stating that my info. Didn’t match their records WHAT??? Anyhow I called them and waited an eternity but they said they would mail them to me. I did ask on the status of my refund and they said 2012 wasn’t done processing but that 2013 had finished 3-25-14. Does anyone know how long it will take to get my refund?? I am tired of waiting as I am sure is true of the rest of you. It has been 7 long weeks of waiting.

They kept full refund last year, didn’t bother with sending IS form. Figured it’s gotta get paid sooner or later, my student loans, hubby is only wage earner. But this year hubby been laid off since Dec 13 soooo we really need it this year.E-filed 2/18 along with IS. Didn’t bother checking wmr until almost the 4week point. Now I can’t quit…I’m obsessed. Lol. Glad to see some Feb dates getting refunds. I can’t access transcripts it says my info is incorrect. Just impatiently waiting….i am considering sending in IS form for last year, I know that we have 2 years to do so, but it would be nice to have loans paid….i haven’t decided. Depends how much they keep from this one. I am in a community property state..

So I thought I might be sneaky and say I felt I had filled the form out wrong and the hateful lady Mrs. Green said well if that is the case after 11 weeks call back and you may need to re-submit the IS form and start over. OMG really lady and I simply said there is no one there I can talk to. She replied no and told me to call back if I hit the 11 week mark in 3 weeks. Seriously they are no help stuck on 605 purgatory and 570 2/24 hell. Over it.

She gave me the whole “11 weeks” speech thing and before I could ask anything else, my phone died.

Seeing some get theirs makes me hopeful but on the other hand I know it can take a long time, last year was 6/10 before I received it. Congrats to those who have had updates and checks.

That’s the amount I also just got DD this morning. It doesn’t have a 971 at all, which was there with last year’s transcript when the husband’s CS debt was taken. Looks like I’ll be calling them, just need to understand the transcript first. NOT happy!

Its my student loans that cause the offset and my husband makes a considerable larger income than I do and they ended up only taking $190 when my tax guy told me they would probably take all my tax which was just over $700. so for once a pleasant surprise!

I think that just because they hold your refund HOSTAGE that they think they have all the power. It seems to me like a big old POWER TRIP to them. They shouldn’t even be in their jobs. Yeah right, the old so friendly IRS.

I see there are some early filers like me that still have not received anything and are still waiting. This waiting game is really unnecessary with the IRS. How come it seems that people who send in other forms don’t seem to take as long. Oh well, for those of you who did file early and have finally gotten a refund date, it makes me feel hopeful. Also CONRATS on those once again who finally got their refund.

I called and she rattled off info in a monotone/mumble and then asked a question I couldn’t understand. I said,” I’m sorry I didn’t catch what you asked me there..” She think loudly and overly enunciated everything and at the end said, “HOW. MAY. I. ASSIST. YOU?” Talking to me like a child. I told her what the rep had said last night and she said,”Well that isn’t going to happen it will be at least next Friday or the following Monday before someone will call you back from here.” I told her what he had said to tell her and gave his information like he had said to. She told me it doesn’t matter how immediate my hardship is I won’t hear from the advocate until next Friday or the following Monday. She then asked if there was anything else she could assist me with. I said, “Well I wasn’t really assisted with this…” She said,” Okay if there isn’t anything else goodbye.” I’m so heartbroken! Now it will probably be even longer with a TA assigned to the case:-( I just give up.

I did not have hardship but have been waiting and decided to have the TA to handle my issue. All the IRS needed was a letter from my employer stating my wages and withholdings. I was told this on Friday 3/21 from the IRS. On Monday 3/24, my TA called (first time speaking with her) and told me the exact same thing, I faxed all my information (w2’s last pay stubs, letter from employer) to my TA and she said she will get it over to the IRS as soon as possible. She then proceeded to tell me that she will “follow up” with me on April 21st…..WHAT??? REALLY??? She then proceeded to tell me that hopefully everything will be settled by June 13th. Has anyone that has used an advocate had these crazy dates? Are you still waiting or are they just giving crazy dates for “just in case” purposes?

I efiled and was accepted Feb 12th, my last code is 570 with a date of 3/10, so wonder if mine is in the same “batch” as yours with the case manager. Which for me at least it has only been like 6 weeks, and last year it took 8 to receive it in my account and I didn’t contact IRS or anything, so I am hoping for the same results this year, but I know it says it can take up to 11 weeks. hoping I hear something before then. I am just wondering if anyone has received their yet and when they filed . I recieved mine around this time last year, but I also filed two weeks earlier than I did this year.

For those of you who don’t know I’m a TT efile IS form on 2/12 ,705 cycle , 570 3-10. My husband- a HS coach- was also supposed to get paid today and we just found out yesterday he won’t get paid by the school district until April 25th this year. We have bills due today, and can’t pay them now so we now have shut off notices. I explained this to the rep and right then my son came in the room, I rushed him out real quick because I don’t want him to hear or stress about these things. I told the rep, “I’m sorry for that, I just don’t want my son to know this.” He said he understood and it wasn’t his place to judge and looked up my file. He said, “Oh man..you’ve just been assigned to a case manager not a case worker…” I asked what that meant and he said the case manager filters the files to the case workers. So I was even further back in the process and it was going to be awhile. He said “In your case I’d like to refer you to a TA. I’m going to make some notes here about shutoff notices, etc.. Now they won’t contact you for a week so I want you to call them at this number tomorrow and give them my name and id number and to refer to the notes I made in your file. ” I hope this is the right decision! If anything an IRS REP ended the phone call telling me he was praying for me and hoped everything worked out for me! I try very hard to pray for others and hope the best for them. I hope my good karma pays off in this case!

Of course I’m not telling you to stop checking your transcripts, however often you check them is completely up to you, I’m just passing on the info. Hope that helps.. :-)

Tried to see if anybody on home page had heard of someone that had experience with this but was not very successful. I would be willing to bet there are others on here that have been assigned to someone too, but are still just being given the 11week run around when they call. Either way lets just hope we hear something soon..I’ll let you guys know if I get any updates.

I remember some people saying 3 weeks, we are a little over 4 weeks past that and still nothing. Called yesterday wouldn’t tell me anything other than the 11 week speech. We are at almost 9 weeks now.

My husband made very little and had nothing withheld for fed taxes, all withholding was my income. Husband has a large CS debt though from a prior relationship, and we’re in AZ.. community property state (I have 4 kids so my refund/credit was pretty substantial). Transcripts showed a 570 code on 3/3, Then an 846 for DD of HALF my expected refund but no code 971? Also got a text this morning from republic bank saying to expect the refund this week and the amount shown is also half what I expected. What’s going on here?

The neg added up is the total return, but after the part they’re taking to go towards debt we only see about half of what the neg is added up.

So like last year: the w2 withholding, plus EIC plus the other amount we got credited (so all the negatives) added up to a little over 6K. Almost 3K of that went to the debt. After they processed the IS (the code it updates to after 570) it showed code 846 2 times, the first one was what we got (a little over 3K) and the second was what went to the debt.

in reply to: Reply To: 2012 Injured Spouse #21656

Received a letter that $117 was taken out for previous taxes and that the remaining money will be sent to me(which i knew i owed and expected it so it was no surprise). I have called twice and was told no additional informatin or paperwork is needed from me and i have to wait 60 days! I did nothing different from the last couple of years (i claimed my same 3 children and my husband and i have not changed jobs!) I was also told by one rep that the computer randomly picks 15-20 out of every 100 people to review!! I was one of them. This is not fair. I am still waiting! My husband has lost his job and everything is falling on me. Meaning i have to support 5 of us until he finds work.

No matter if I have been working, not working, only worked for sometime during the year…they always take right around half our return. (my husband is the injured spouse), so I don’t expect this year to be any different for us.

This means NOTHING, it is just the due date of all tax returns. Everyone has this date.

No return, call the phone number to see who got our return, etc. We’re leaving to go out of state in 2 weeks and I’d really like to have it by then, but we are only on week 6. I am hoping for a direct deposit, but from the looks of everyone else’s replies there could be a paper check waiting for my upon my return. Who knows. Just trying to keep the faith here!

The one bar we did have went away on 2/24/14 and has been gone ever since. I call the irs a couple of times and got the same old 11 week story. The last time I called them was on 3/17/14 and was told my case was handed to someone else to work on and that sounded like good news to her. My wife made most of the money this year . I didn’t work a whole lot (another story). I checked today (3/25/14) and still no change.
