When can you file your taxes?
You can submit your tax return before the IRS begins processing as early as the first week of the year with many tax preparation providers. You don’t need to wait until the IRS begins accepting tax returns but you must have the proper forms and paperwork. Some forms are not available until mid January. Tax returns filed before the IRS officially opens sit in a āqueueā and are held until the IRS officially begins accepting tax returns.
Your tax return may be selected in a test batch. If you e-file early and it sits in queue, your return may be sent to the IRS early. This can result in early direct deposits depending on the payment provider you select. Our cycle chart will update with key dates including test batch dates.
When does the IRS accept tax returns?
The IRS usually opens around the third week of January each year. They announce the opening date early in January.
The IRS will begin accepting tax returns on January 26, 2026.
When is the IRS test batch?
If you file your tax return early, it may be sent to the IRS in a test batch before the IRS has officially opened for the year. It is usually a week before the date the IRS begins accepting tax returns. This has resulted in refunds in the past that can be posted by direct deposit as early as the day after tax season opens.
When will I get my tax refund?
Early filers whose returns are accepted in a test batch can anticipate a tax refund as early as the day after the IRS opens the January filing season if your return was in the test batch. The day that the IRS deposits refunds varies for regular returns but we notice trends based on the method you chose to file and select to direct deposit. My Transcript updated! 846 code im cycle 20260505. DDD 03/09 .So if I have TT with advance and rest of the money will be in the CK account. When do Yall think it will be there ? I had my funds taken out of Refund and had the Advance. Thanks in advance
@Sammy-sam: so you had your fees paid from your refund? My son has the same situation and his info is not showing in sbtpg at all. So your refund appeared in your account and you didn’t have any information showing on sbtpg?

This morning received a ddd of 3/09 on transcript filed with jh and my advance loans as been repaid and just waiting to get a notification on ddd on my one pay card(Walmart card)

Turbo tax site says ācongrats you received your refund!ā, however it doesnāt show in my account yet. They charged me $37 for it.
My return is also about $80 less than itās supposed to be (before the 5 day early charge). Not sure why

Approved 2/3, received showing in WMR but pather. Updated to 846 this morning on transcripts showing 3/9 deposit date. Fees paid upfront. Deposit just hit my account right now.

Turbo Tax says refund received. I guess it is a waiting game now?
So I went thru JH, fees from refund, SBTPG advance, went on their website. Says unfunded but my advance shows paid on the bottom when I scroll down. So will see DD by end of week.
Last year mine deposited 2/19. Guess I’m not so lucky this year. My as of has been 3/2 for weeks and nothing has updated. I guess I have to wait another week

My SBTPG site still shows unfunded, but now when I call – it says āa payment in the amount of (my refund) has been posted and pending on my cardā. I still donāt have a deposit, but thatās exciting to hear!! Looks like theyāre moving faster this year! š
