Accepted 2/5 – stayed on return being processed the entire time
2/16 – about 3:15 got a ddd of 2/202/16 – got my fed in my Current account at 1pm and got my state refund about 7 pm . Was walking the Path

Finally updated from further review, now says received and being processed. Next should be ddd. Was accepted on 1/30 went straight to further review.
I’m beginning to think that “further review” is here to stay and is just part of the NYS process now.
Unfortunately, it has been around for years. In the late 90s it use to say may require further review and can take up to 30, 60 or 90 days. And what sucks is that it can take 1 day or 3 months to go back to processing or an audit. NY has and will always SUCK! Just pray you don’t get caught up in the matrix too long.

I filed my mom’s return on 1/23- accepted 1/25 – updated today with a ddd of 2/7, she stayed on processing the whole time.
I used H&R Block’s software to file our taxes.
Me: filed 1/20 accepted 1/21, ddd 2/4
Mom: filed 1/23 accepted 1/25 ddd 2/7Fiance: filed 2/1 accepted 2/2 – says being processed.
Forgot to mention didn’t get my federal yet, 1st time getting my state before federal in a long time if ever. Thinking I’ll update Saturday with a ddd for next Wed.

Hey everyone. I updated today to DDD of 2/4. I filed on 1/20 accepted 1/20. Stayed on processing the whole time. Checked at about 11:30 still processing. Checked around 3:45 updated to DDD 2/4.
To anyone still waiting. my cousin was accepted on 2/18 like I was but he just updated today to a ddd of 3/29. He stayed on “return is being processed” the whole time.
Check your accounts, people are updating to ddd of 3/10.
Some people are updating now, for 3/9, They’re starting earlier. Check your status.
All 4 returns were updated yesterday to ddd of 3/5. My daughter got hers today on her Chime card.
I’ve never updated on a Wednesday, hoping today will be different. Accepted 2/18.
Hey Bella, seems to be going better than last. I haven’t updated yet but hopefully soon.
@Amy: congrats and thanks. NY has taught me to not stress and don’t budget for it until it hits your account. So I’ll just keep checking everyday after 4 and one of these days it’ll update. I got my federal last week so thankful for that! We’ll do it again next year!

@Dee: was it you a few years ago, when we had to wait forever and didn’t get our refund until the beginning of April?
@Dee: I was accepted 2/18 as well, but I’m not checking until after 4pm unless someone else updates before.
@shades: woohoo, congrats!
Shades, NY doen’t have or give access to transcripts so I don’t think anyone can answer when they send. With federal the day the 846 code goes on there, that’s the day they issue it. Not the date they say but he day it goes on the transcript is the issue date. Your bank deposits early so you should have received it already if NY sent it. The plus side is you know the latest you’ll get it is tomorrow. That’s all I was saying.
@shades: If NY doesn’t release the funds until 3/3 it doesn’t matter who you bank with because that’s the date anyways. At least you know it’s coming by tomorrow. And the folks that had 3/1, most received early because Saturday reads as Mondays date (next business day) even for traditional banks such as Chase. Bank of America, TD, Citi and Wells Fargo. So you can’t really go off of people that had Monday as a ddd.
@shades: congrats always after 4pm for me, depends on you bank if you get it early. I was accepted on the 18th so i’m hoping to update tomorrow. If not could be anytime. See you next year!
Quite a few people are posting they were accepted on the 17th and got a ddd not today for 3/3. To my fellow 2/18s hopefully we’re tomorrow with a ddd for the 4th.
Some people just updated to ddd of 3/3 check your status.
Very frustrating. And I saw a handful who were accepted by the 16th get ddd for 2/25 and 3/1 and then others still sitting on processing. NY has no consistency other than delays. It’s as if they just stopped giving dates. smfh
I created a user account so they email me with my ddd. Those emails never come before 4pm. The earliest I’ve received dd emails was 4:43pm and the latest was 10:19pm last year. When I’ve been audited the emails came in the morning. If you don’t want to keep checking the refund status, sign up for an account and request to be notified by email when your return is processed.
I usually check at that time as I’m not lucky enough to get it before 4. If nothing, then I’ll check tomorrow unless i get an email with my ddd. I looked back at past years and I’ve updated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

@Sage08: @AleciaS: you guys are lucky, there was only 1 year I got my state the same day with fed and I’ve been filing for 30 years. NY has always taken a minimum of 2-3 weeks and can take months, especially if you get audited. They use to update from processing to your return requires further review and may take 30, 60 or 90 days. I hated those messages. And what’s worse is there’s no reason, so you can’t pinpoint what the problem may or may not be.
If you look back on this thread for years past, you’ll see it’s not new for NY to delay. You have to be thankful when you process quickly. NY is just Gangster like when it comes to processing returns in a timely manner. I have noticed updates before 12 is always further review or an audit. Updates late afternoon is ddd or back to processing if you were on further review. I check at 12 and then again at 4pm.
@Shades: unfortunately there’s no way to tell if NY’s tracker is working or not because there are issues every year. There are people that stay on processing, flip flop between further review and processing, stay on further review for weeks/months or get audited. No rhyme or reason, NY does what they want, when they want. I’ve been on processing since 2/18, but to be honest I rather processing than further review. We honestly just have to wait and keep our fingers crossed.
@Samantha: I think that happened to a few people and they got their refund. Check your transcripts. I received my federal already, but I just checked H&R Block and it said I requested a check as well although the software has my banking info. Not sure wth H&R is doing. Fed says dd, NY says check. annoyed. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

@shades: NY seems to be updating, they just don’t have a consistent way of doing it. I haven’t seen anyone say they got their NY deposit without updating to a ddd first.
Federal is 🦇 shit crazy this year. The 4 returns I did all updated on transcripts and got their refunds on 2/18 – 2/24 and all 4 still only has 1 bar. Never stayed in 1 bar in the almost 30 years of filing taxes.
All 4 returns I did have all processed through the IRS. They were all accepted by NY on 2/18 and have been processing since. Here’s to hoping for a ddd between today and next Tuesday. Please no further review!

@Amy, yes that is usually what it means. you will see 2020 when they get it even if it’s blank which would mean it hasn’t completed processing. This year nothing seems to be working and people are saying that their transcripts are NA but they got their money. They need to say if they did a refund advance because then that would make sense.

@amy: My daughter, fiance mom and I were all accepted by NY on the 18th as well. Let’s hope we just process straight on through and there are no issues. Afet the 2020 – 2021 so far we’ve all endured, they really need to just give people their money.
I think H&R Block is full of crap. We got emails saying we were accepted earlier today and when we checked wmr for NY at tax.ny.gov they have no info for us. smh

My mom, daughter, fiance and I were all just accepted for NY. We all got acceptance emails from HR Block. We filed 2/5, 2/12 and 2/15.

Was hoping to see more acceptances. Hopefully later on today. Other states process returns in a week and NY always have to be on some nonsense. Here’s to a fast, smooth 2021 tax season for us all and absolutely no further reviews. Amen

I was about to say I can’t believe this, but they did the same thing to me in 2018.
My further review year for you to compare:
Jan. 24 – accepted by NY
Feb. 2 – went to further review for 33 days
Mar. 7 – back to processing for 16 days
Mar. 23 – got ddd for Apr. 2There were no issues, they didn’t need anything from me, just had me waiting.
I hope you guys get your money soon.

So they delay it when you have fees, must be the bank the fees are being taken from. Hope you get your deposits today.
CashApp was early for me also, I didn’t do an advance or have any fees taken out. MY ddd was 2/5 and I got it 1/31 before wmr updated on 2/1.

For 2020,
My daughter had a ddd for 2/26 and her funds were available at 10:13 last night on the east coast.
So far the best I’ve seen for early deposit is CashApp. I used that account this year and my deposit date was 2/5 but CashApp had it Jan. 31st. My go-to account from here on out.
Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you. NY shouldn’t even put you guys back to processing, you should go straight from further review to a deposit date.

NY is really on some bs. If nothing is wrong they need to process the returns And not say to call back after 30 days. Happy you guys updated on federal and hope state updates soon as well.

@Michelle no final just “it is being processed” and then my daughter and I updated to ddd yesterday.
Hubby still waiting; incorrect info from 1/31 then 2/7 it is being processed. Hopefully the 2/7 folks and the ones waiting before that, update to dd tomorrow.
@Amanda facts. In 2018 I was accepted 1/24 further review 2/2 back to processing 3/7 updated to dd 3/23 for 4/2. 68 days to get my money. I pray NY is not on that fuckery again for all the folks still waiting, including my hubby.
The silver lining is path is finally over so the feds should be dropping deposits everyday next week and depending on your bank you could get it sooner.

He was accepted on 1/31, but it kept saying incorrect information until 2/7 and it’s been on processing ever since. Hoping maybe he’ll update tomorrow.@nicole, looking back I’ve only updated once on a wed. Usually Tuesday or Thursday. Praying you update today though.

Congrats to getting your money. Saturday is the next business day for traditional banks such as BofA, chase, td, citibank, etc,, so that is why you got it today.
