@cmbreede My WMR went from offset to processing but nothing has been updated. It’s the unknown that puts a knot in your stomach that you have to walk around with for months and weeks at a time. I think I have contracted my first grey hair this year.
Thanks so much for your input and help! I appreciate YOU!

@deveney a check should be mailed today. my bank rejested my dierect deposit and my transcript updated to refund issued 4-28 like yours. And now WMR has updated to say a check will be mailed by 4-18 which is today. From what all I have read the checks are mailed on Friday and most people are recieving them on Monday or Tuesday of the next week. So hopefully you will recieve it very soon.

I am hoping beyond hope that a notice or even possibly a paper check will be mailed to day. This is the first year my family and I have had to file IS. I have tried to teach myself the ins and outs by lurking and watching forums such as this.
I get lost in the lingo, so many codes get spoken of that I do not see on my transcripts like 570,571,768 etc. (All my dreams of late are of numbers!!!)
That I do not see on my transcripts which make me fear that I will have additional delays. The offset is mine, but I made no money, all the income was my husbands, I live in Kansas so there is no community property to tend with. I pray for each of you every night, because one does not understand the stress unless they have lived with it. My hats off to each of you that contend with the process year after year.
But I am hoping that maybe a few of you can help me decipher the codes on my transcripts to see if I might encounter additional delays?

Transcripts say a notice issued 4-28, but no idea if that means I should have gotten by now, I am just soooo lost, stressed, and borderline desperate. ANY help at this point is WAY beyond appreciated and helpful!

11 weeks and one day today. Same as most everyone else. We married at the end of November. I have defaulted student loans. This is the first year filing injured spouse. I don’t work. All our income is my husbands. Filed and accepted both our joint return as well as the injured spouse form using turbotax and e-file on 2/6. Cycle code: 20140705. WMR lost bars shortly after filing and no movement or communication since. It has the usual ” being processed and will let me know when a refund is issued”. No codes or further info. I check my transcripts every morning. :) Normal codes for credits and a 570 code dated for 3/3/14. I have not received any letters. I called one time last week just to confirm they are processing it. Was told it could take 13 weeks from the time THEY (not when the irs accepted it) received it which would be around the end of May. He said they got it 3/15 :( Turbo Tax took the fees outta our checking account the other day because it took so long. We live in Texas which is a community property state so they are already gonna take half the refund to send to my student loans.

This is getting really sad. But I’m happy to see some early filers getting updates, gives me hope! Had a dream last night that I got it next Thursday, so we will see. That will be a day from week 12 lol

Does anyone know which 846 code would be my husband and I’s refund. When I filed the IS form I allocated the dependents and exemptions to him. That way only one would be mine and three would be his. I was hoping this would make the amount of the refund larger. Any help?!?

Ok so my transcripts finally updated with an as of may 5th, there are two 846 codes but yet there is no “898 code- refund applied to non-IRS debt” … so still not sure exactly when or how I will get my refund or how much, but it will be something :) …. WMR site still not updated , will check in the morning. I was an early filer accepted on 1/28… bout damn time!

                    tweety

This is for Ashley, call the number on the letter. I finally did this morning, that’s how I actually found out. I kept ignoring them too. just figured that they would take from refund. That might of been the reason for mine taking so long. I told them that I just thought they would deduct it from my refund Called to see about setting up a payment arrangement, then she saw that my refund was on hold for the debt, transferred me to another dept, said yes, at least 3 more weeks. If nothing in a week, then call a week from Monday. So I just figured another 3 weeks, at least its being done, but manually. checked transcript this morning, no 846 refund code, called offset #, no offset, checked wmr and said still processing. Then lo and behold a paper check in my mail box. Was told if they have to do it manually, paper check. So try calling and see what happens. Good luck, I hope it comes soon.

if you owe taxes like I did, then they are being done manually. Have you called the offset number? Of course that might not mean anything either, cause when I called today, they said no offset could be found. Just keep your hopes up.

Hey guys, got my check in the mail today. I was totally surprised, didn’t expect for another 3 weeks. Funny thing is my transcripts never showed a 846 refund code. I know, cause I checked this morning. So I say as far as those of us who filed IS form, anything can happen. I guess for me, the transcripts totally meant nothing. I already pd off 2 of my debts, a couple more to go, then new house here I come. I am doing the sweat equity thing where I have to build about 70% of my home. No it is not habitat. You have to have workable income. I am praying for the rest of you that you get the surprise like I did.

I too am stuck with the “YOUR REFUND IS STILL PROCESSING A REFUND DATE WILL BE PROVIDED WHEN AVAILABLE” delay. I filed on January 31st and was accepted on January 31st. after 2 weeks I got that message. on February 17th I contacted the IRS because it was past 21 days, at that time I was told that there was an error on their part in the processing of my return and to give them another 6-8 weeks to which I had no choice but wait. well the eight weeks are up and I called them again today and was told the same bs. they have no information and I have to wait another 6 weeks from April 9th. they have no explanation, no information nothing just wait. I am seeking information from anyone who has experienced this or know someone who has. btw I took the liberty on the advice of an IRS agent and sent in proof of my identity, my w-2 and information to support my claim.

Filed and accepted 1/31. Cycle date 0605, processing 2/24, as of 3/31. No letter, no refund, no updates since I filed. Talked to IRS got 11 week bs. I told them I hardly believed they could get me my $ by tomorrow if WMR and Transcripts haven’t updated.

Told me to call Monday. I asked what sort of queue system they were using when people who filed later and mailed paper 8379 are getting theirs back sooner. She asked if they filed 8379. I told her there was an entire forum of people in my same boat.

Maybe this forum will force IRS to make some sense in how they do things… Waiting and need the $…..

I’m still holding on too, no updates of any form. now that i remember I did receive a letter maybe like a month regarding a small tax bill that was due, and never called. do you think that this could be holding it up. i just figured they would take it out of my refund.

Well, I finally got some good news. I called to see about setting up a payment plan for some back taxes due. When she went to pull up my account, she saw they a hold on my taxes for it. So transferred me to a different dept. The guy told me that yes there is a hold. My taxes are being done manually. He even gave me the balance of my refund amt. I will get a check because of it being done that way, cause I owed back taxes, which I knew. He said about three weeks for my refund. Told me to call a week from Monday, which will be 4/28, to make sure it has posted by then. I can’t believe this madness is almost over. I have waited 11 weeks since filing. What’s 3 more. Since I am getting a paper check, I am assuming that is why the 3 weeks. Now I have something to look forward to. Got to pay some debts, so I can get my house. By the time it gets here I won’t have much left to pay. Need a VACATION bad. So to all those still out there waiting, yes Dorothy, there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I am still waiting. The only thing that changes on my transcript is the as of date. Which is now 4/28. Tomorrow will be 11 weeks since filing. I am calling them tomorrow. I have yet to see any real change. This is just way too long. I hope to get some answers out of them, cause the 4/28 would be going on 12 weeks. I was told by 2 reps the 11 weeks is from the date they accept your return. Which they said was not till 1/30 for me. So yes I am still waiting for the stupid people at IRS to finish my return. Especially when there are those that filed way after I did with the IS form and are already getting or have gotten their returns.

Hello….I e-filed 1/30/2014 with IS form 8379. WMR had processing for what felt like FOREVER. It updated eventually to DD 3/5/2014. Received a letter that the full amount of refund will be offset spouse debt.

Today is 4/16/2014 = No DD. No further letters.

I have filed before and did not take this long.

Should I resubmit my 8379 form?

I have been aroundd since feb. I was just lurking thingkig that I could get info and it wouldnt take that long and would have posted by now. I filed on feb 22 but didnt get received untill the 27th of feb. Was told that when I finally called the first time. Its been 7 weeks for me and this is my first time filing the IS form. My husband is the one with the debt. When i called yesterday around 530pm the very nice guy looked up my account and said the whole spiel of 11 weeks. I told him I knew about that but havent gotten a letter or anything. After researching my account he says that I will get a letter or something stating whats going on but it was still very early. Also that it says processing but no one is working on it cause its still early. He tells me that if I do get sometime it would be the end of may. I assume I cant count cause the 15th is kinda in the middle? No worries I told him ill wait. 4 weeks to go just thought it would be atleast looked at and not pushed to the side. So if its not done by the 11th week or already sent to me he says I referral will be put in. Suppose to push someone to finish the process. I am very thankful to have you all thats on this forum that have voiced your experiences cause I was checking like crazy and keep seeing the dreaded 570 code. It was still there last time I checked Still waiting so ill be here and give an update when I have one. Hopefully a letter will come soon enough.

Was told my return was stuck in the review process but he wasn’t sure why. I asked if he could find out what was going on and was given the response his hands were tied until the 90th day. Was also told the 90 days were business days and they have until 6/11 to be within that 90 day time frame. Maybe I’ll have it by the 4th of July. I’m not hopeful at this point.

They pulled mine for 2012 saying it was under review, then sent me a list of info they wanted proving every penny of my income and other things – basically a very lazy way of auditing me. I sent it all in and they denied it. I called and was told that they are withholding the refund but are holding me accountable for the taxes. It doesn’t even seem legal to me. I sent in an appeal and have heard nothing. Now, just filed my 2013 taxes and it is also under review. I don’t expect much from them. Fortunately I just moved out of Michigan and never plan to return, but if I was living there I wouldn’t even bother.

Federal direct deposited with 2 weeks. Mississippi web site said not received…..for months. I kept calling the automated number, and no record. I finally called the direct number and of course it was being reviewed.. on 4/11 i called 601-923 7089. pressed 0. She said it was being processed it shouldn’t be too much longer. Today I checked the website and all of a sudden its been processed. should have my dd 7 -10 days. Hope this helps someone.

I have called all the numbers I’ve found online and the number on the form I received back in the mail and no one knows what’s going on. They said they can’t even tell me if they’ve received everything and it’s fine? We filed on Feb 19th. I got a thing back in the mail stating I had to fill out an extra form. They received that form March 21st. That week the one person I did talk to said they received it and to call back in about a week and they’d be able to answer a few questions. Well since then I’ve been calling and everyone keeps telling me they can’t tell me anything or even if they have all the documents they need? My husband is the ‘injured spouse’ and he was the only one with a ‘real job’ {I own my own business from home} so everything was done in his name. I was told by the first person I spoke to, it would be pretty cut and dry as it was all ‘his’ money being paid into federal etc. We filed in WA state where he is stationed if that matters. Any advice/insight would be appreciated!

Looks like it was sent out Friday. I also received a letter on Saturday stating what my refund amount would be. I initially filed on 3/5 and they received my IS form on 3/10, I’m not sure if it went so quickly because I filed so late but I think I’m going to do the same next year!

The lady was super nice and told me for some reason they received my form on the 6th of February and that the 11 weeks started then. She said she didn’t see any holds or reasons why it was taking so long. But she said someone is actively working on it as we speak. She told me to wait 10 more days and call back and they can request the worker to call, but that they have 30 days to respond. But she said they have been very diligent about the 11 weeks. So we will see

We filed as soon as we could but did not file with IS form because I forgot I had an offset until a couple days before the adjusted amount was deposited into our account. We were in the middle of moving so we couldn’t fill out the IS form until 2/24 and thats the date we mailed it in. On our transcript it shows they received the IS form on 2/28. We haven’t heard anything from them about whether they are going to approve it or deny it. Its my debt from a Star card (military exchange) that I got shortly after we got married but my husband isn’t connected to the account in any way. My husband made all of the income minus 2000 dollars that I made. I heard it takes 8 weeks when you file the IS form seperate but that it is taking longer this year. So basically here are some questions, will I receive a letter if its approved or denied? Will it come In check form if it is approved? Has anyone mailed in the IS form after the fact and gotten any news? Also, we filed out the IS form with our new address and they updated our address on our transcripts so I know they have actually looked at the form so far. But haven’t heard anything else! Oh and we don’t live in a community property state.

It just upsets me that people who filed later with same form, are already getting their refunds. Don’t get me wrong, I am really happy for everyone who’s wait is finally over, but I feel like they are saving mine down to the last wire.

My federal refund was direct deposited within about 2 weeks, but nothing from MS! Getting the same crap as the rest of the people on here about my return being “reviewed”. How long does it take to review the damn thing? I paid X amount of dollars in state tax, you owe me X amount of money. It’s not a multiple day procedure, I can’t even imagine it taking more than 5-10 minutes to “review”. So obviously by “review” they mean it’s sitting in a box with a bunch of other tax returns until they get to it.

They have absolutely no problem collecting the tax money from you, and they demand that you pay it to them immediately. But when it comes time for them to return some of your money, they take as long as they want. There really needs to be some sort of regulations placed on states to force them to complete processing within X number of days. I agree with Tracy that the reason for this is because the state of Mississippi is poor as hell and wants to hang onto your money for as long as possible.

No updates in 4 weeks and I am headed into week 10. The full amount is still showing and the WMR still has the processing message. I spoke to the IRS two weeks ago and the lady told me it looks like it had been completed. When I called a week later, the man told me that there is no way anyone could say it has been completed because it says it’s still processing. I have recieved no letter from the IrS and sent both in together efiled. I don’t understand how others are getting them already and filed way after me. When do the transcripts update again? This is beyond frustrating and I really need the money! They told me they have until April 28th. But people are moving quicker this year but I’m almost at the limit. I have it set for direct deposit but my husband is not on that account. Reading previous posts, shows me that others have been denied direct deposit and have been sent a check in mail, adding more time!

No updata on trans, still 3/31 and 570 on 2/24. This is getting ridiculous. There have been many who filed IS and have their money already. I guess we got stuck in the early file glitch plus already have the longer wait because of IS form. I guess our hope for this week is gone, but maybe next week. Will update if I see anything different, keep me posted too.

The last person I spoke to said I would have my refund by the 11 week mark. Has anyone gotten those with this little time left and no uodate? Last update was 570 on 2/24

Filed with turbo tax 2/6 and filed the injured spouse. It was my debt and it was all my husbands income and the letter says we can file the injured spouse my mailing it in, but I thought we already sent it in. Why would they keep the return so long and than take it? I am so confused.

My return accepted 2/6, processed date of 3/3 and as of date of 3/31. IRS told me the same thing, the 20 something of April. She said if I don’t have it by May 1st to call back then.

It just dawned on me, as I see more and more people on here get their refunds before me who filed after me, that it depends on which office you get sent to.
Does anybody know if eFiling is the same as the paper returns? That depending on which state you live in, that determines which office processes your return.
I live in Michigan, so if I mailed my forms, they’d go to Cincinnati. I wonder if the same rings true when I efile.
Maybe we should start putting states in our posts, see if a pattern develops.
I have visions of my forms filed early in February sitting at the bottom of an In box somewhere, with newer ones being piled on top.

So your check should go out next Friday 4-18-14. But I think if you keep watching WMR then you will see an update there as well. But I am pretty sure you will get a paper check sent out next Friday.

However from everything I have read and what happened for me I am pretty sure it will be the 16th. My transcipt updated last Friday and then WMR updated Saturday giving a dd of 4-9. If you mailed your form in then you will recieve a paper check which will be mailed next Friday. My bank just screwed mine up and rejected the deposit. So I now have to wait on a paper check that will probably come in about 2 weeks.

Note to self- wait to file a bit later next year… maybe even mail in the IS form!!! This is such crap I am still waiting for an update as well….mine has not changed in forever!! Hell just this week my income finally showed up!! Before I could not even pull that up, the tranny site would say there is no data available…guess that is a change. However the lady on the phone said my funds should be RELEASED by the 24th… I listen very carefully to the wording they use… being RELEASED!! That means it is already done they are just sitting their tooshes on my refund until they damn well feel like it!! It is a bit frustrating to say the least!! But this is a pattern for me… everything is always late yet it is right on time ;)

I efiled everything on 1/28. I am beginning to think that I will never see an end to this. Good for everyone here that has a refund date. I wonder if its my last name, which is Spanish, I heard on tv about some that were milking the system. Problem is, I just started filing with my husband last year, and I have been filing for years. Yesterday was 10 weeks since filing. Now there getting a call from me on my day off next week. I am totally pissed off. They wont even tell me if its being worked on. Well gotta go , have to get ready for work. 4/28 makes it 12 weeks from filing and 9 weeks from the processing date of 2/24. Bye

They rejected mine on Wednesday because both names were not on the account. Also if you look at your transcript it should have the amount listed next to your 846 code. I would double check with your bank to see if it is pending or if they sent it back for some reason.

Efiled IS with return w/ TT. Accepted 2/12, 570 3/10 code up until last night! Since I filed with and asked for a DD I should get it Wed. I’m just hoping since we got a TA(Who was actually amazing) it doesn’t get sent out as a paper check now. I’m not sure if that ever happens. Good luck to everyone!

That is such great news for my family. I know it sounds materialistic but I have been waiting to buy a new stove since Feb. (my oven stopped working in my current one) I have had to pan fry and crock pot for ever.

WMR may update for you tonight. Mine updated last Friday with 846 4/21 and then WMR updated Firday night into Saturday. I should have gotten mine Wednesday but the bank rejected it and now I have to wait for a paper check. But you should hear something soon and I would check WMR tomorrow.
