We filed 1/21. Apparently they didn’t send it to IRS until the following day and it was accepted then. So last I had checked we were still on the first bar. I’m sure it will be here sometime next week or so. Good luck to everyone!

I filed as HOH and had EIC. I’m also expecting over 8k .. I thought that could be the reason why its taking so long but seeing as others have been approved maybe not.. IDK.. This is the most I’ve ever gotten back, usually its around 6k, so I’m wondering if they’re looking a little closer because of that.. I filed with H&R Block, and I heard they’re having lots of issues this year. Any one else with H&R block with a DDD?

You guys are comical. For one, no one, and I mean NO ONE on this forum and explain why YOU have yet to see a DDD or why YOU have a certain reference code. Seriously, stop asking.

Next, the IRS did NOT start officially accepting returns until 1/19, and didn’t start processing until 1/21, even if you filed and were accepted early. You are ALL within the 21 day time expectancy, and really have no business complaining. Further, due to budget cuts, there are FAR less IRS employees processing returns than years before, so stop comparing this year to others.

Yes, it is usually down fron 12-3 am. You can call the hotline for updates (800) 829-1954. My bars disappeared right before it went down and the hotline still says that it is being processed :(

@Antranette I use Walmart Money Card also and was wondering the same thing for this year, but last year I received mine on the date (it was 1/30). I filed through TurboTax and had fees taken out by SBBT who had the money a day earlier and sent it to my WM card as soon as they took their fees, but since Walmart doesn’t post as soon as they get it, my money was available the next morning, I think it was after 3:30 am or so when it became available, but it was there when I woke up on the 30th. My ddd this year is 2/3 so I’m expecting it early Wednesday morning. HTH

And to add to my last statement, don’t even worry if it isn’t there at 10 am, lol. it’s still two days before the deposit date. It just means time is a factor. Worry if it isn’t there by the end of Wednesday, that’s when I would personally starting sweating a bit. :)

For everyone worried about not seeing a deposit yet, start worrying if it hasn’t shown up by 10 am. Some banks move slowly.. Like molasses, lol. If it’s one thing that’s true about the IRS and banks, if they owe it to you, they’ll drag their heels about it. Now if you owe them, on the other hand…

@Lora Hubbard I have two friends who have the same message, filed when I did.. One of them called and was told they put in the wrong bank account information.. The other one called and she had to verify her identity as an extra precaution.. Everywhere I looked for past years problems of this, everyone says it is not a big deal.. its supposed to be by entering a wrong social but I know I didn’t do that.. But if we were being audited this code wouldn’t have showed up and another one would have, so i can breathe easy on that issue.. The friend with the wrong bank account information is having her check mailed out and I haven’t seen any difference for the friend with the id check as of yet.. I am going to call in the morning just to make sure.. Mostly all other cases I’ve read about involving the 9001 message, is that they are just holding an extra week and a ddd will be sent out then.. but i am going to call anyway just to check because i don’t want to wait another week to solve it if i am one of those who needs to verify id.. I don’t think should worry alot about the reason, but i am a little put off about the hold up.. I’ll post and update when i receive one.. I’d like to know what you find out what happened with yours when you get an answer…

just updating everyone who gave feedback about my situation @bill i think its possible my return is under review but i honestly dont know why. @dmoses thank you for your positive feedback and i am really hoping i see a change in my status but as of right now i still have the same msg “your return is being processed a refund date will be provided when available” i read on the irs website under wmr faq that when the bar disappears it means the return has to be reviewed before the refund can move to the second step “approval” hoping it doesnt take too long everyone cross their fingers for me lol

My daughter now has this code. I think it’s because of someone stealing her identity last year. Guessing she will have to verify her ID. Good thing about whoever stole her identity last year didn’t get the money. She didn’t work at all in 2014 and suddenly got a refund check in the mail because it couldn’t be direct deposited into “her” account. I immediately mailed the check back with void across it and explained that she didn’t work in 2014. Received a letter back stating they were taking care of it and if they needed more info they would contact her. Really hoping it doesn’t take months for her to get her money.

@katrina im sorry but you are incorrect. the code on your current transcript does show what batch your dd is a part of. has been like that forever. maybe research the subject before you call someone out for passing bad info.

These banks are used by the tax prep software used if you only paid to do your taxes. If you filed free it won’t go to these locations

I signed up for the American Express Serve card because it stated that I can receive my refund 2 days sooner than a direct deposit to my bank account.

I was reading the tax refund info on serve.com and it says

It will take 24-48 hours for your funds to be available on Serve after your refund has been released by the IRS. You will receive an email from Serve once the refund has posted to your Account.

Now that does not sound like 2 days early. It sounds like 2 days late.

God I hope its wrong somehow or im misreading it or misunderstanding what theyare stating.

Ok so I’m not going to stress. I have read some horror stories about the 9001 code. And I got really worried. But it seems a majority of us who updated Saturday. Got this code. Wasn’t really expecting an update until Wednesday because last year I was weekly. Just wish they’d tell us something, like hey we had a woopsie and we will fix it promptly. But they won’t even talk to you unless it’s been 21 days.
