Everything is ready. Software checked it and it’s ready to go, but when I get to the efile section it tells me Georgia is holding up efiling. Did you use HR Block software?

February 22, 2016 at 8:24 am in reply to: anyone in Georgia receive a ddd for their state refund yet? #4143057Erika, I got that same message Friday. I called first thing this morning, rep asked a few questions and then released my refund. Rep said it could be 7-30 days before I got it though. I have never seen anything like it’s been this year, it’s insane. I’ve been filing and getting refunds for 30 years and I’ve never had to call to get a refund released.
I’m glad some are getting results. My msg changed this morning to call the 877 number. I had just talked to them yesterday, now have to wait till Monday and call again. Changing my G-4 next week to have 0 taken out the rest of the year. They will not be using my money again.

I talked to a rep today also. Not sure what they are telling others, but I was told a CS rep. can not release your refund. I was told there were no problem with my return, but it was being held and it would take 6-8 weeks even if you efiled. I ask why there were some who filed 2 weeks after the ones that filed on 1/19 and was accepted on 1/20, he said he did not know. Here’s my theory, I am retired from the State of Georgia, worked 32 years with them. In the years where teachers and State employees got a big raise, and that is what has been approved for this fiscal year, a 3% raise, they have held back refunds during those years.

It will be 6-8 weeks even if you efiled. There was no problem with my return, but it has not been released, they are holding it. I asked how other people who filed 2 weeks after the ones that filed 1/19 are getting theirs, and he couldn’t answer it. Well I can answer it, I am retired from the State of Georgia, worked 32 years with them, and every time they give a big raise to teachers and State employees, which they are doing for this coming fiscal year (3%), they hold refunds.
February 19, 2016 at 12:56 pm in reply to: anyone in Georgia receive a ddd for their state refund yet? #4142233Seems like us who filed on 1/19, accepted 1/20 are the ones getting the shaft. Certainly not a first come first serve deal.
February 19, 2016 at 6:38 am in reply to: anyone in Georgia receive a ddd for their state refund yet? #4141995No change for me today. I thought sure I would get a DDD of 2/22. It’s been 30 days, guess they are going the full 45 business days.
February 18, 2016 at 11:00 am in reply to: anyone in Georgia receive a ddd for their state refund yet? #4141662Same thing today, no update. It’s been 30 days, tried to call but I can’t wait on hold with my pay as you go phone. I got a message when I called about the delay saying it will be 30-45 BUSINESS days, so all of us that filed on the 19th will probably be waiting until the first of March.
February 17, 2016 at 10:11 am in reply to: anyone in Georgia receive a ddd for their state refund yet? #4141102I’m glad some of us are getting DDD’s. Still the same for me, filed on 1/19, accepted on 1/20 and I’m getting the same message for the last three weeks, return received 6-8 weeks for processing. It should not take this long when you efile. This is taking as long as it did back in the day when I mailed it in. They will not be using my money again after this.
Yea, the updates come after midnight, that’s why I check it each morning.
No update this morning. This is ridiculous.

I meant to type 1/20, not 2/20. Mine shows a credit in green, not sure what that means, but it seems a lot of the refunds are ready they are just holding them back. By law they can hold them for 90 days before they have to start paying interest.
They update once a day, overnight. I think yes, it’s business days, so with the holiday coming Monday all of us that were accepted on 2/20 will be looking at the first week in March before getting refunds. This will be the last year they use my money. I’m retired and do not owe State income tax, I’ll be changing my G-4 to have 0 taken out.

The 30 days they are counting says business days, so with weekends and holidays that puts us that filed on 2/19 not getting refunds until around the first week of March.
February 11, 2016 at 7:20 pm in reply to: anyone in Georgia receive a ddd for their state refund yet? #4138114This is the last year they will be using my money. I’m retired and do not have to pay any State income tax, I’ve just been letting them take it out and use it, then get a refund at the end of the year. Not anymore, I’m changing my G-4 to have 0 taken out.
February 10, 2016 at 5:07 pm in reply to: anyone in Georgia receive a ddd for their state refund yet? #4137314I was searching around trying to find info on Georgia returns being delayed this year, and came across this site. So I see I’m not the only one who is still waiting for their refund. I filed on 1/19, accepted on 1/20, got my federal refund on 2/5. I’m getting the same msg as everyone else, return received, wait 6-8 weeks for processing. It’s never been this slow. Last year I got mine back in 10 days. I’m a retired senior and I don’t have to pay any State income tax, but I let them take it out and use it during the year, then file for a refund. But If they are going to play this game I think I’m going to redo my G-4 and have nothing taken out. Hope we all see our refunds soon.
