How do you accidentally claim it? Do you mean your stimulus arrived after you filed your taxes?

Also.. https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return – That’s the link to find out the status of your Amended Return. (Hopefully it posts the link in here correctly!)

However, when I logged in just before posting this, it still shows the same “We received your amended return on 02/28” message. Even though I already have a DDD of 03/18. So, clearly, there’s a lag in updates!

The IRS2GO app and IRS website’s “Where’s My Refund” link on the home page will give you the same info. App doesn’t show side info, ie refund amount, etc. I use both app and website. If they are not recognizing your info, it may be that you are using your “AFTER amended” Refund Amount. It doesn’t recognize my info when I use the NEW Refund Amount. The ORIGINAL Refund Amount works. Once in, the refund amount and info reflects the new amended return info.

Was in 60 day review. I quickly corrected the mistake by amending the return. (That alone should have taken 16 weeks.) I sent certified mail so someone there had to sign for it. I made as an actual topic on this forum called, “How I went from 60 Day Review to 846 code in under 60 Days”.

My transcript update was this morning to an 846 Refund Issued code 03/18/20. Tomorrow WMR should update as IRS stated this past Monday.

My transcript updated this morning. Cycle code 20200805. It updated from having a 60 day review to an 846 Refund Issued code with date 03/18/2020. IRS did tell me Monday that WMR should update this Saturday. I think it will, being that my transcript updated. This 60 day review did not take 60 days for them to review.. Definitely under 30 days. My letter date was 02/13.

Thank you! I was trying to post it in the 60 Day Review thread, but it kept cutting it short or not posting at all. Guess it was too long! The moral of the post was to perhaps try to use the “I want to amend my return” as the reason for why you need for the IRS to give you the details on what’s REALLY going on with your return…. so you get some answers.

Only way I could get it posted properly. As a topic. Sorry guys, my last two attempts to post here kept failing.

When I first realized there was a delay with my tax return, I called the IRS and the lady said that same thing…. “There’s nothing needed at this time…” She wouldn’t tell me anything. I hung up.

                              Here’s my story:

Filed 1/29 – accepted the same day.

I noticed a delay after a while… I called IRS on 2/24… They told me they sent me a letter. I got it… but it was dated for 2/13. It was a 60 day review/ no action required at this time letter.

                              Here’s my story:

Filed 1/29 – accepted the same day.

Called them back the very same day to speak to someone else. This lady told me that there was a discrepancy with my federal withholding amount reported on my taxes and that it doesn’t match my W-2. She advised me to look at my return that I filed, and amend the return. She told me that it typically takes 16 weeks to process amended returns. I was hesitant, (I didn’t want to tack on additional weeks…) but knew I should do it. I immediately looked at my return after hanging up. Yes. Extra digit in my Federal tax withholding spot. Bummer.

I corrected it right then–within the same HR Block software I used to file it myself, printed it out and mailed it CERTIFIED to my local IRS office. I mailed it certified so that someone would have to sign for it; in order to accept it.

I waited a little bit over a week and a half or so… which lands me to yesterday. I called IRS to check in. I was told (yesterday) that they finished processing the amendment! “That was quick!” I thought to myself.

Anyhow, long story short. I was told I should receive an update this week and that they decided not to group my amended return into the “16 week” processing group, and that they decided to just stay along with my original file and acceptance date… 60 day review date. She said that the latest I would receive my refund is 04/13, but that she really believes it will be sooner.

I think they went along with my original file date with the correction because it was a pretty simple fix that I corrected right inside the same return I electronically filed… But it was an amended 1040-X on the printed docs I sent to them. We’ll see what happens this weekend. I should update then.

Yes! It’s typically 70 degrees+ every day. The change was super smooth, considering I had begged my parents to move our family here back in like 1986, when I was a kid!

Los Angeles is cool. I chose San Diego because this is where I wanted to settle my career in real estate.

I have more history and friends and family in Los Angeles, but I feel like I was drawn to San Diego. I am so grateful and happy here.

Are you on the East coast?
