I’m a little shocked because this almost seems impossible ESPECIALLY since it’s FTB but…I filed my CA return on 02/16/2026 with my Federal and not only did my Federal give me a DD date of 02/24 my CA was issued 02/19/26! That’s 3 fricking days for it to be processed, approved and issued! I did it differently this year by waiting until the PATH hold was over and I have them both on their way in less than 5 days?? I’ll believe it when I see it in my bank!

Refund approved 2/20/2024I have B of A and from what Cali gurl said it takes about 4 days to hit my account. That will be a Saturday so I’m guessing I’ll see something maybe Monday the 26th. I hope you all get your refunds soon because FTB usually takes longer with my return I don’t know why.

that’s the compliance numberMe too Stek00 I never received a letter, but the woman I talked to gave me my FTB account number to put on the stuff I faxed. I have absolutely no hope for them to do anything anytime soon. What a bummer too, I could really use that refund now!
I gave up for now. I don’t know if anybody is even working in the FTB so with this virus crap going on I’m going to say bye everyone til next time! You guys be safe and good luck!
Who’s still waiting for an issue date? Who’s with me huh haha I have to laugh because I don’t expect to see a damn thing happening with my refund any time soon! With the Coronavirus issue and the FTB’s past record of how they work I straight gave up. I made copies of all they asked for and faxed it to them, even mailed another set to them but I don’t expect chit. I’m still lurking around tho’

does anyone know if you have an offset, will you still get a direct deposit…or will the remainder be a mailed check?
I had an offset a couple of years ago and they took the offset and sent a check. I believe still by the past comments they don’t direct deposit the balance and it says this on the FTB website. I’d expect it to be sent in a check.
I just got off the phone with FTB at the 916 number. Apparently they sent out a notice over 2 weeks ago and also my PIN but I never received it. They want my SSN, my 2 daughters, their birth certificates, my income records bank statements etc. I’m cracking up laughing, I mean, I have the docs but where the eff did the notice and my PIN go?? I wish I would have called sooner but oh well. Now I’m off to get everything faxed to them and wait for however long after that.
So anybody else still waiting to get issued? I am on my way to vote but I’m calling when I get back because this is some bullshit.

Haven’t received my FTB account PIN either it’s been 2+ weeks since requested so FTB needs to do their effin’ job!I’m in the same boat Eva! I filed on 1/24, accepted the same day. So if there was a notice coming you’d think I’d have received it by now. I told myself to give FTB until Monday March 2 before I call. I still haven’t received the PIN for my FTB account either!Mine was in my bank this morning and the WMR was only on 2 bars. It usually updates overnight and when I had called my bank at around 2:30AM PST it wasn’t there. I just checked it right now and it’s still on 2 bars. I’ve already went to the bank and got that money in my purse haha
I received my Federal this morning. DDD was 2/26/2020. Filed with Freetaxusa and had the state fees taken out. It was there at 8:30AM PST to Union Bank of California. I think the middleman for the fees was SBTPG but yeah, it was there when I got to the bank at 9AM!
My WMR hasn’t updated to all bars tho yet it should by tomorrow. Good luck everyone!
I got my Federal today! Freetaxusa with fees for State taken out Direct Deposit to Union Bank of California this morning when I woke up at 8:30 AM YAY!! Now if I could just get my California return approved I’d be super happy but I’ll take one of ’em!
This is what I dont understand…. if the IRS(The Federal Goverment) approved my refund why am I having such a time with the State? this literally does not make any sense.

Yes that is what I meant, had the fee for state taken out of my federal. I think the middleman is SBBTPG according to Angie’s comment.
I used them and my DDD is 2/26 I bank with chime and I still haven’t received anything also I had fees taken out to file my state
I had the fee for my state taken out too. Mine is going to my bank. I found out that it should still be tomorrow for the deposit. Freetaxusa said the refund goes to the temp account at freetaxusa then they take out the fee and deposit the remainder the same day. We shall see…
So just called and it’s saying a deposit was made to me on Feb 26 (tomorrow) so we shall see 🤷

I used freetaxusa, have used them for the last 4 years. I haven’t had a problem BEFORE but my California refund “requires additional time” for processing this year. My federal was approved and should be here tomorrow tho YAY! I’m a little bit irritated with the state return but I think it’s totally on the Franchise Tax Board, not freetaxusa.

I am trying to avoid calling, only because it’s complete bullshit what they’re doing. If my Fed return has been approved with no problem FTB shouldn’t have a problem either. I’m not going to make it easy by calling they’re supposed to send a notice right? I haven’t received shit!

Well that’s great!! I’m pretty much the same as you on the filing date, self employed but EITC no young child credit. Let’s hope I see some good news by next week!

Requiring all self-employed with EITC to verify? If that’s the case I’m fine with it but how the hell long does it take to get a letter letting us know that? I mean, if we didn’t know about this forum with others sharing experiences we would be sitting around waiting for a letter? I haven’t received chit from them, not even my PIN for my FTB account (8 days) and my return was accepted Jan. 24th. I’m calling in the morning. FTB needs to get their act together LOL

4 business days is usually when deposits hit after the issue date. I say usually but hopefully you see yours today or very soon!
Yeah I’m calling tomorrow morning. I DON’T have the young child tax credit. Like I said, my returns are pretty much the same as always and this is causing me a little stress so eff it. I’ll let you know what happens.

Well, I’m irritated. The funny thing is I have no changes really. Same income and same address, same dependents for the last 9 years. If anything it would be a simple return to process. But noooo California has to make it a big ass deal. I’m avoiding calling because I can guarantee I will get the biggest ass that works there and it won’t end well haha
At least I have company right? LOL let’s see what tomorrow brings.

Accepted 1/30/2020Called FTB today at (916) 845-7088 and pressed option 2. Got a live representative right away who stated my return was still being reviewed and could take up to 35 days. At that time they will either process my return or request additional documentation.
I wonder if its taking so long due to the fact that I have self employment income. Anyone else self employed and experiencing a delay in their refund?

I just spoke to the franchise tax board and they said the routing number doesn’t watch my bank do you guys know what happens with that cause they said it was already sent

I filed both fed and state (CA) on 1/24/20 and they were both accepted on 1/27/20. I’m on the PATH wait for Federal so I’ll check after this weekend. BUT with my state I’ve been on 2 checks (processing) ever since! I’ve seen people who have filed and already got their refund back from CA already. I’m giving it one more day before I call, which I hate doing.

Nada. Zip. No movement since the 28th of January, stuck on 2 checks. Self-employed, same as the last 9 years and I’m trying not to clog up the lines and shit but this is ridiculous. FTB isn’t earning any stars from me that’s for sure. I haven’t received any notices or have offsets. Ridiculous!
@Noblemama the routing number is correct but I messed up with the account number by 2 numbers. So I guess it doesn’t matter. On so how long will it take me to get the other half then after it’s rejected
I did this 2 years ago. I noticed my account number was wrong, off by one number and I left off the last number. I called my bank and asked if my refund would be rejected and the person told me it shouldn’t. Plus I asked them to see if the wrong number belonged to anybody just in case and it didn’t. I got the deposit no problem. Maybe you can call your bank and ask?

@burtbea I also filed on the 24th and am still in processing. I filed on Jan 24 with HRB. CA said they received it on the 30th and it has been processing since. I did have the kid tax credit. I’m getting anxious seeing all these people who filed after me already receiving theirs.
Don’t worry you aren’t the only one! I’m still waiting stuck on 2 bars and it’s starting to irritate me. Filed on the 24th, it was accepted the 27th and still there. Let me know if your status changes, if mine does I’ll post it here.

I called (800) 883-5910 and told the rep that my federal was already approved and I had a DDD. However, my state was still processing. I asked him if any documents were missing bla blah blah and he pushed it through.

I filed 1/24 it was accepted 1/27. I’ve had 2 checks since the 28th of January.This is straight bullshit, all the 1 month time frame and the issue date not being the day the money is sent. FTB has shown in the past they can receive, process and “issue” a return in as little as 9 days (my son got his last year in his account 9 days after he filed.) First the IRS stalls us with the PATH wait, now FTB is pulling the same. Sure wasn’t hard to take the taxes out of paychecks right? It’s like pulling teeth!
FINALLY! I just checked and I have 2 blue checks! I was getting worried with the “No record of a return” message but thank goodness it shows it’s being processed! WHEW

Same here! Accepted on the 28th, but says no record as of 10PM PST. I am a little concerned but I’ll check in the morning. If it still says there’s no record tomorrow I’m going to call.
I filed with freetaxusa on 01/19/2020. CA return was accepted around 6pm pacific on 01/28/2020. All day today my information was not being recognized on the FTB refund page. I checked moments ago and I have all 3 checks and the message that my refund was authorized on 01/29/2020.
I used freetaxusa also. My refund was accepted on the 28th too, and I checked this morning and it said there was no record of my return being filed. I got a little bummed until I saw your message!
I remember last year when people got the “no record of your return” it was usually a sign it was updating and that was the case for me. The next morning after that message I had all 3 checks and a DD date. So fingers crossed!I had DDD 2/22 and I checked my bank (Union Bank) about 4:30 this morning and I got my refund! Hey everyone, from experience with banks (I have Union Bank of California) the deposit will show up on the 22nd if that’s your deposit date. You hear of people getting deposits days before the DDD and that’s mostly on the prepaid cards. Banks will post it on the date of the direct deposit and it will be a frickin’ miracle if it shows to your account anytime sooner. I’m not trying to kill the hope anything can happen but I have never had my direct deposit post before the actual date. So if your DDD is the 22nd I would expect it the 22nd.
