EIC and CTCTwas nice to have peeps to chill with while we went insane and then returned from that “trip” … until next year. Time to bring the baby shopping for a new bedroom ^_^
I think that was a typo and she meant to say she got her DDD on Friday 2/23 for the date of 2/27 and it got jumbled.
2nd bar here as well – just waiting, baby and I need to go buy a toddler bed and a new wardrobe and according to her a big gummie worm that can bounce to the sky… wish me luck finding that at walmart XD
Generally speaking and lack of a better way of explaining it when banks receive your deposit it’s in the form of a digital check with a date on it. The process is typically started a couple days prior to the date to ensure funds are on time think of it as a post dated check. Regular banks and credit unions typically listen to that digital release date where prepaid cards basically see the funds and give the funds based on that promissory note in the form of a pending direct deposit. Hope that helps a little. I’m still waiting as well have chime and expecting anytime between now and 1pm est as that is when mine have hit previously.
So I just found out why chime users are waiting a little longer…. our transfers go through a longer process… and yes I know everyone is going to sya but it’s coming from the reserve, but either way this is the info directly from chime themselves.
We do not receive the direct deposit instantly, as it must pass from your payor, to your payor’s bank, and to the Federal Reserve Bank before reaching Chime. As soon as we receive your direct deposit, the funds are in your account.
I have looked at my previous returns and federal seemed to always hit around 1pm 2 days in advance where state was more random but in the evening.
Hope this helps calm some nerves while we wait to get our funds.
Alright as we know WMR updated. So here’s mine. DDD of 2/27.
Will update with Deposit into CHIME account.
Hope everyone else got some good news too, if not there is a second update from 9pm to midnight per the IRS website.

Hey there @igmr-admin is there any chance of pinning this? I feel this must be seen, if not understandable just figured I would tag you and maybe this wont be buried and people could understand how to post things better and avoid all the online conflict.
I’m curious how to get this pinned if possible, anyone know how to flag a moderator without using the dreaded T word lol

@Larry Huff
No one is lying about the PATH hold and freezes what was said is completely accurate. PATHers had holds and freezes and they were to be lifted. We all know of these holds and freezes and by someone telling us what we already knew does not mean someone is lying. They are simply pointing ot the obvious. And keep in mind that most of the responses you will get about the PATH holds will be canned responses. You will find some random rps willing to tell you things may happen sooner. But in no way was the rep or Ken lying about their experience.
Keep in mind the lift that happened on 2/15 WAS NOT for everyone but for the majority as the IRS website states. We all must understand that the IRS is handling ALL of the USA’s Federal tax returns not just your city and state. So just because I was lifted from my hold doesn’t me the next person was. All our situations are different and all we can do is feed each other information and come up with an estimation of what is truly going on. Not truly knowing until 2/23 when WMR actually updates for all us PATHers.
Chime deposits as soon as they see the transfer of funds. They do not hold. This can happen at any hour of the day depending on when they are sent. I have deposits that have come in at noon, others at 3p, and more at 5am. So it can really be anytime during the deposit date.
Hold times are around 15 mins currently
@MommaJess
Working on it now with my details ;)
Just spoke to IRS as the helpline was saying my SSN was invalid.
Was told they are down for maintenance as they are attempting to do mass updates to prepare for Saturday’s WMR update that will be happening. I was also told that anyone who is a PATHer should already be aware of the holds that were on each of our accounts. These holds “should” now be released and the process is now continuing for us all. For me personally I was told there is no DDD and that I should call back on the 27th if I do not receive it by then.
So in short I got a real answer and then a partial canned response.
All banks are different on when the transfer is completed. Banks can send funds back and forth all day and night so the hour could be any time. I have seen some of my deposits hit at noon others at 5am and more at 11p. So it really just all depends on when it is sent to your bank and what their process is for releasing the funds.
@Big Flex Slimm
No bank can promise the 2 days early… and that is standard… and even is posted n NetSpend’s website… All banks can only say “up to 2 days early” this says it may happen or it may not.
Most people posting DDD are either getting them form their agent like TT, JH or HRBlock, or by looking at their transcripts. For any PATHer the WMR tool will typically not update with the information until the 23rd per the IRS.
I’m in the same boat have no access to transcripts and I did free file online so no one to check with as there were no fees, and well I wait and I was accepted on 1/23. But based off my past years experience and those around me I’m assuming and hoping that my DDD will be 2/22 but holding my breath until 2/27 just in case.
Based on what I’m seeing and hearing from family who are getting theirs I’m saying mine should hit tonight or Friday at the latest. I do not have access to online transcripts and I am waiting on snail mail for those copies.
Figured I would post the known of my return as well…
