Just got a phone call from a TA. Very nice lady and she said basically our return is pretty much done and just sitting there, so she is sending over a request to expedite our refund. She didn’t give me a time frame but said that we would probably have our refund very soon. She also told me that she filed an injured spouse form herself and hers was just sitting there too so she knows how we all feel. Anyway, I am very cautiously optimistic. Praying all of us get good news soon.
Thanks @j33 :-)!
AnonymousWhen contacting a congressman, do you contact your State rep. or the US rep?
AnonymousFor anyone who doesn’t follow the Facebook site, here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/272344846175042/
You have to sign up for the group because it’s private however both my wife and I were approved in less then 5 minutes.
Anonymous@whatthebleep Happy for you, finally over! Praying for everyone else to get DDD soon. I was looking on Facebook ant there is several people who are past the 11th week and still waiting. Irs does say o call back and ask to have a referral put on account to try to get it moving faster. But they say it can take up to 30 days for referral. Some also say to keep calling to see if you get a nice representative that will work on your return while you sit on the phone. That is what I did I finally called is department and had a nice representative who unfrozen my refund and I received with in 9 days. Also read that a TA will take your refund to be delayed if your near or past 11 weeks.
AnonymousUnfortunately, it is becoming my experience that the TA is causing it to take longer. My 11 weeks is up next week, and we got a TA because we are being forced to move, and I wanted to try to expedite our return. Now the TA is telling me the earliest to expect anything is May 28th…
Anonymous@Saros: We haven’t been contacted by a TA as of yet and I doubt we will be. I am not going to push the issue either.
Anonymous@brokeandfrustrated Careful with the TA. In a few instances a TA can actually DELAY your return. Just read on Facebook yesterday about a TA who put in an inquiry and when the person called on the progress of the return, they were informed that the funds were ready to be deposited, however they are now frozen until the inquiry is completed.
Also, once a TA takes your case, the IRS agents are no longer required to discuss your case with you, and the majority will not. It’s just my opinion, but I have never seen a case that was accelerated because a TA was involved. I suppose a TA can call them every single day, but I really doubt it speeds up the return.
Anonymous@brokeandfrustrated Call the state congressman’s office. If you don’t have the number google it on line. I have seen that most have helped quite a bit.
@ugh…seriously I have education credits on my return but am waiting on my refund. However on my account transcript it shows it is credited back to my account.
Anonymous@whatthebleep: So happy for you! And thank you for your prayers. I am seriously considering emailing my senator. We are in dire straights financially and simply cannot keep waiting for our refund. The lady at the IRS told me last week that we really can’t expect it until the 11 weeks is up on May 16th but I told her we can’t wait that long which is why she put in a referral for a TA for us. Well the TA has yet to contact us and I am fed up!
Anonymous@whatthebleep So happy you got it! What a relief. No deposit for me and no update on WMR. I’ll check again after work.
Thats good news @maximo2 :-)
AnonymousNo update on WMR, so I called IRS again. Was given paper check to be sent 4/26, I guess maybe thats because I paper filed IS form after e-filing return. So I’m hopeful, but I’ll believe it when it gets here, but I did ask him if that is a definite date and he said yes a check will be mailed out on 4/26. So heres to hoping for everyone. Seems this week is good for all us spouses. By the way e filed 1/31, Is form received by IRS 2/07.
I’m praying for you too @katmill
I’m praying for you @brokeandfrustrated
AnonymousNothing for me this morning, either in the account or on WMR. Damn. Congrats @whatthebleep!!!! Hopefully the rest of us will get some $$ soon!!
AnonymousNo change on WMR this morning. :( :(
Hey you guys remember i told you I have a friend that works for IRShovenstuff? Well he just told me that technically even if you have a dd they aren’t supposed to tell us over the phone. He said that some people told their dd on the px are calling in irate because they haven’t received it as told, so now they can only tell us to watch WMR, even if they see a dd is coming…crazy huh? Makes sense, but sucks too. Just thought I’d share.
Morning guys and gals got my money a few minutes ago. I hope you guys all hear something this week. I’m still gonna be checking this forum so let me know if you all need info from me.
AnonymousWell, I’ve looked on this page for a couple weeks, now I’m finally posting. Return and IS submitted electronically on 1/30 but not accepted until 2/14 due to education credits. I haven’t ordered transcripts (not that I know what that means), WMR still says the same boring message and the offset hotline has not updated saying anythings been applied yet. Does anyone know of anyone thats received their refund with education credits? entering week 10 here, only took 8 weeks last year :(
Thanks @irstressing I’m crossing my fingers and toes for you guys. Thats correct. I found this theory on a turbotax community thread so it’s no guarantee or anything but I wanted to see how the numbers were playing out for everyone that did get a dd. mine was 423,it was really close for me so maybe it will be for everyone else too? I’m supposed to get my refund tomorrow morning and I will update everyone as soon as I do.
Anonymous@whatthebleep so if your theory is right and I counted right tomorrow would be my day. (?) I’ll let you know if I get it. Have you got yours yet?
Anonymous@whatthebleep my number is 426.
Anonymous@katmill2369 Forget checking WMR. Every year, out of curiosity my wife and I check the WMR AFTER we have received our refund and ya know what it says? “Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.”Ignore WMR. It’s not very accurate.
Anonymous@m_wag Welcome to the waiting game! Good to have others join me…..not good for you of course but you know :)
Anonymous@katmill2369: I am going to do the same, start checking our bank everyday as the rep told you. Hoping we all get some good news next week. Praying for everyone to get their money soon!
AnonymousWMR is the same for me today too :(. I’m hoping since tomorrow is a new week and the rep on Friday said that she can’t “officially” tell us, but to start checking the bank account next week that things will start looking up. Fingers crossed!
AnonymousWMR says the same old crap this morning. Called three days ago for a TA and they told me it would be up to 7 days before I am contacted by a TA. I am so fed up and if there is no change on WMR tomorrow morning I will be calling the IRS again. This is ridiculous!! We have virtually no money in the bank and payday is still 9 days away. :(
AnonymousCan I play the waiting game with you all? We e-filed our return and the IS form and it was accepted 2/14. I was able to order transcripts online this morning. I hope that means something…
AnonymousI’m extremely happy to hear about all of you getting your refunds. I requested the help of a TA 3 days ago. I was old I would hear from one Monday. My wife told me to “just leave it alone, you can’t rush them” Well this time i’m hoping my wife is wrong. Wishing with all those that haven’t received their refunds that this week is the one.
Awesome news for you too @injured4life! Would you mind telling me your 3 digit nbr too please?
That’s awesome news @irstressing! Congratulations :) would you mind letting me know what your 3 digit nbr is on your account transcript if you have it? I’m experimenting :)
AnonymousIs there anyone else left aside from us and katmill2369? Way I figure, it’s going to be May in 2 weeks. There can’t be that many refunds left to even process! They have to get to us eventually! Trying to stay positive here haha.
AnonymousYay for good news guys!!! My WMR is still the same :(. So we shall see if that theory has any merit to it @whatthebleep. Who knows with the IRS.
Anonymous@injured4life awsome! Don’t be a stranger now. We might be here for awhile! haha.
No change here but it’s only been 2 days. I will check back with ya all next week. Maybe before next weekend I can see some progress.
AnonymousSorry for the typo…was too excited. lol
AnonymousMine WMR changed from offset applied to debt to we have received your refund and shows the amount we are getting back. No ddd yet but there’s progress. :)
AnonymousWMR changed this morning!!! I have the orange bar now. States refund is scheduled to be sent April 24th. My blood pressure is starting to come down. I think I’m on board with some of you. Better to owe the government than to wait 11 + frustrating weeks.
Some people say anything over 366 in that 3 digit nbr is considered invalid so the theory is bogus but who knows…
And supposedly you can get your refund anywhere between those 21 days.. ? Who knows just wanted to share :-)
Ok katmill2369 thanks for responding :-) i was trying to test someone’s theory about Jillian dates…which is what that 3 digit nbr is supposed to be.. So you would subtract 445-365=80.. Then count 80days from jan30th and then 21 days from there you should get your refund.. but that would make today your day 80, which would mean between now and 21 days from now the irs has to get you your refund…make sense? I dunno how valid it is but I thought it was pretty cool? :-)
Thanks dear..ok one sec I’m gonna do some math
AnonymousOk I’ll bite @whatthebleep mine are 445……. LOL.
Well if anybody finds their transcripts and finds this 3 digit nbr plse let me know i think I figured something out…
Or anyone else? Lol that has account transcripts handy? :-)
It would be the 6th, 7th, and 8th digit right in the middle.
Hey everyone happy Saturday :-) hey @brokeandfrustrated you have your account transcripts handy? If so look under the transactions part at the bottom, there is a 14 digit number there can you plse tell me what the middle 3 digits are of that number are? Just wanna see something…
AnonymousNo change on WMR this morning and no deposit in the bank. :( I am going to start checking the bank everyday though since others have said that WMR has not always been updating as it should. Praying we have our money soon. Still haven’t been called by a TA and it’s been three days since I requested one…..
AnonymousWell, I talked to a pretty helpful rep yesterday. For one their computer system was down so that was causing a bunch of problems, and I got my first consistent answer of May 1st….at the latest. She also said that WMR is more often than not NOT changing so to start checking the bank account daily. As of next week. She couldn’t give me a DDD but she did recommend checking the account next week so….maybe next week? At least the rep and the TA have both said that the refund will be here by May 1st. My son’s birthday is May 4th so, fingers crossed LOL.
How about everyone else? News? My WMR hasn’t changed at all as of this morning.AnonymousOfficially 11 weeks today. No change on WMR, and no check in my mailbox. Looks like this game is headed into overtime.
April 19, 2013 at 6:21 pm in reply to: IRS LTR 4883C, Potential Identify Theft in Original Processing #18204AnonymousI filed 1/24. Wasn’t touched till 2/12 then I got letter on 3/12 veriified on 3/13 Called today 4/19 and was told that I Was underreview and needed to verify then told well it says 4-6 weeks but the department is asking for and additional 16 weeks … Problem, for me is I need my transcripts for fafsa. Tax advocate still has not contacted me.
Anonymous@j33 I am so glad you go your DD. That gives me hope. I am really getting tired of this back and forth. I am hoping that the Advocate is right and that they can get this settled next week for me. My back is to the corner now. All I can do now is wait and pray.
Hey that’s great news @j33 I’m happy for you, especially considering you didn’t even need the injured spouse form, congrats :-)
AnonymousSorry to hear there is no change on WMR for guys, I know it seems as you will never get your date but it is coming. I finally received my refund in my bank this morning, very happy this is over with. My WMR did change to DDD of 4/19 on 4/17, this morning bars are still showing as approved they have not moved to sent.
Anonymous@purple33 I am with you! I would rather owe the IRS and make them wait for their money like they have made us wait! I am definitely not going through this again next year….
Anonymous@maximo2 I would be calling them up everyday. If I was given a DDD and it past with no DD. That is crap. I am so sorry that you have to go through this! Wow.
AnonymousStill nothing here either, no changes to WMR, Of all the many stories from IRS the one consistent thing was that my return was all through processing and was just waiting on a DDD since 04/01, but still nothing. Will keep updated pray for us all.
AnonymousFor everyone… Last year my WMR never changed from still processing even after I got my DD. Their system is so jacked up. I am from this time on going to owe the IRS… I can make payment arrangements and make them wait for their money… Like they make us wait. This is so stupid! Hang in there!
AnonymousI called on march 23rd to get a TA they told me I would get a call within 72 hours she didn’t call until April 11th my wmr shows still processing I got my refund in the first week if April I did notice that the message “a refund date will be provided when available” disappeared off my message 3 days before DD
AnonymousNothing here for me either. Same message on WMR……ugh. I might try calling and bugging the IRS later but I don’t know that it will do any good. Hopefully better news for others today!
AnonymousStill no DDD when I checked this morning. Had the same old message that refund date will be provided when available. :( And we haven’t heard from a TA yet either. So tired of this crap!
AnonymousSometimes it may be possible to get the returns earlier then the expected date however it doesn’t happens always. Sometimes it might depends on how fast your bank posts the deposits.
It really depends on the agent you get and how much they want to fork through your file. Some of us have gotten good info, some of us have gotten nothing. It sucks you guys didn’t find out anything but I would still keep calling, I’ve spent a lot of time on the phone with the IRS, some wasted, some not, but in the end worth it..to me.
AnonymousHaha injured4life,“should be by the end of this month” is translated, “How soon can I get this person off the phone”. They don’t care and they have no answers and I agree, the government bureaucracy and red tape is ridiculous. Nothing is updated in the computer and no notes left to let the other agents know at what stage the returns are at. And it’s apparently impossible to just pick up a phone and ask.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about filing Injured Spouse over the last 3 years, there are no answers, there is no time frame and no one is able to assist or update you because they have no idea. The only thing you can do is sit, and wait, no matter how long it takes. (our first return filing IS took right at 6 months).
AnonymousWish I would have seen the last two posts by @saros and @charbelle. I too just wasted 40 minutes of my life. I broke my own rule and called the IRS. After endless elevator music, the kind lady told me my IS claim was still being processed. I explained to her that it has been 11 weeks, to which she replied “should be by the end of this month”. REALLY!!!!! SHOULD BE????? With all the technology we have, I would think my tax money would get me something better than a “should be”.
AnonymousOk. After the rather non-helpful response we got when we called Tuesday, I decided to wait a couple days and called the IRS again this evening. After giving the lady my info, she confirmed that yes indeed, it was STILL PROCESSING and we were beyond 11 weeks.
There really isn’t much she can do of course, however she did put in a request, or an inquiry and informed me that a supervisor from the IS dept will contact me…………sometime in the next 30 days. Now that won’t affect the actual return time, however if it does take that long, that would be week 16. If I’m still here by then I’ll be talking to myself haha.Anonymousi gave in and called :( i was on hold for 29 minutes then my call was finally answered and immediately disconnected. i called back because i’m persistent, and after 32 minutes got to speak to a nice gal who told me that our return is still in the processing phase because we filed IS. she said we should hear something back by the end of april or beginning of may. there is not a freeze on out DD. i ordered transcripts via the automated system which seemed to have no problem accepting our address like the irs.gov site did. all in all-no new info & i feel i wasted an hour of my life-which the irs should monetarily refund as well :) congrats to everyone who is getting their refunds! it makes me think that there is a light at the end of the tunnel-just hope its not a train haha!
Thanks @purple33 :-)
Anonymous@whatthebleep Congrats on your DDD! I hope everything works out. Also congrats to anyone else who I missed too. Also @charbelle go ahead and call the IRS with those numbers given and order the transcripts that way if you want, but I warn you my transcript really didn’t tell me anything that I already didn’t know. Good luck on your refund. Let us know if you need any help. We are here to help each other. I know that this group has helped me a great deal. Take Care.
Hi @charbelle the person who has the debt will have their part of the tax refund offset. I don’t think you need transcripts it’s up to you. If you read further up the forum there are numbers we have been calling to get what info we could. Good luck hope you get some info :-)
Anonymoushello! I’m keeping up with what everyone is posting & my confusion & fear is getting the best of me :( the last time i called in i was told to wait the full 11 weeks and then call back-which would be on the 29th of April. I filed IS and our taxes via TT-for the first time ever on Feb. 11th. I was told they were rec’d on the 13th. In the meantime I called the automated system & found two offsets-for my student loans. My husband worked all year and I only worked a few months. The student loans were prior to our marriage. I guess my question is: what questions do I need to ask to get some information?! I am highly concerned that I may not have filled out the form properly. I would also like to know if we are getting his amount of our refund back. Do I need to mail in a hard copy? I requested transcripts via the automated line & was told our address didn’t match up with what they have on file-which blows me away because I checked & re-checked that along with our SS#’s every year that i’ve filed. How can I get transcripts-do I need them? Do they have info that can help me figure out the secrets of the IRS IS dept?!!! haha! Any help would be much appreciated! I’ve got my dialing finger all ready-but no where to go.
Thanks @j33 :-)
Anonymous@whatthebleep congratulations on DDD! Now lets hope we get it on our dates and not have to wait longer. Hopefully everyone will see a DDD soon.
@waiting13 I’ve not seen anyone that had the issue with the irs forgetting the 10 digit ID nbr like they did with you, which is re-damned-diculous, but I do know that it usually only takes one to two weeks to generate a Ddd, hope that helps
AnonymousAfter going round and round with the irs and them forgetting to put my banking info on the first time they submited it, I was assured today that it had been resubmitted and that I would have to wait for a posting date. Can anyone tell me about how long it took for you at this stage?
