Filed 3/30 and nothing. One bar and “being processed”.
@JaneR
I was tracking my state refund thru taxconnect and had no update. Then on Thursday i saw an offset taken from my initial amt. I called the IRS and found out what it was for. The status online never changed to show a pending deposot but it went into my account friday/saturday night at 2 a.m. so its pretty quick. I only ended up with 300 out of 800.
@carrie
What state are you filing from and is the child support court ordered and monitored by the DOR? If so then it doesn’t matter if he was only employed for 3 months, he will still be responsible for 52 weeks and will accrue arrears AND interest paid to the state.
I would call the offset # or a rep to verify that the offset is indeed for past due support and then confirm/track the initial processing information of the injured spouse forms. If you’ve filed the injured spouse paperwork you should be all set. Worst case scenario you’ll have to resubmit.
It tells me theres no “non tax” offsets. But… My offset is a tax offset lol
Cali (800) 304-3107 right? I called and it didn’t have an offset for either myself or my husband but I’m wondering if that’s because they already took the offset from my state return so now there’s nothing to report? Someone told me that it wont list any federal offsets… Which doesn’t seem right..?
I just called the IRS again just to make sure there wasn’t any other issues. She said that the offset taken from my MA state return was the only issue coming up in the system and my 2-3 week federal refund SHOULD be processed the 27th… God I hope so. I wont count on it but I will follow up every damn day if need be. So lets pray that we get some updates when WMR rolls over tonight!! :)
My cycle code is 20170605. Codes that end in 05 only update weekly which is why I have never seen a wmr change (if any) any day other than friday/saturday morning.
@erin No no no I hope they take my ex’s child support arrears! lol he’s owed me thousands for years now an its monitored by the department of revenue child support enforcement division here in Massachusetts. Funny thing is that my husband and I are using our return $ to have my oldest legally adopted because her bio father has been absent for about 5 years now. I did call that number you listed which is how I knew I had an offset when I talked to the rep BUT I called he offset # itself and it doesn’t have anything listed for either my husband or myself.. so hopefully its been processed and that’s the only offset against us!
I did check wmr this a.m. with no update but I’m a weekly filer so hopefully when it updates Friday into Saturday I get a ddd.. such a hassle!
@thatgirl I have no change in status whatsoever. Did you have an offset taken from your federal or state? And 2/23 was your ddd?
So frustrating. I have been staring at my computer screen so long that I have a migraine. I cannot make sense of the E-notice provided to me on my state refund tracker. The amounts don’t add up. I also wonder if MA will take child support from my ex as an offset from his taxes (if he filed!). Hes about 25k in arrears but I’m not sure if, because they’ve been garnishing his wages as of 6 months ago, they’ll take his refund as well. I OBV cant find my CSE login pin or password because this is apparently the new pattern of my current existence. :(
I filed 2/3 and was accepted the same day. PATH message until 2/15 then to the generic “being processed”.
I didn’t want to call because my 21 days weren’t up. Last night I logged into my MA state refund tracker and saw my state refund being offset for a past due amt from 2012?!
I called the irs today and he guy was really nice. Apparently I owe federal from 2012. I THINK I still have some state leftover (although not much haha) and he said as soon as the federal applies the offset my refund date will post.
I’m so irritated and confused as to how a debt could continue from 5 years ago with no notice, letter, NOTHING.
So now I go back to waiting….
HI EVERYONE!
SO HERE’S MY TAX TIMELINE:
FILED AND ACCEPTED WITH TT 2/3
PATH MESSAGE UNTIL 2/15 AND THEN THE GENERIC “RECEIVED BEING PROCESSED” MESSAGE UNTIL I CALLED TODAY TO SPEAK WITH A REP.MY STATE REFUND IS BEING OFFSET TO PAY FEDERAL FROM 2012. IVE LOGGED ON TO TAXCONNECT AND IT SAYS I HAVE A REMAINING BALANCE AFTER WHAT I OWE.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO NOW? DOES MY REMAINING REFUND GET DD AS USUAL?
I STILL HAVE NO DDD FOR FEDERAL WHICH THE REP TOLD ME WOULD TAKE A COUPLE OF WEEKS ONCE THE OFFSET CYCLES.
IM SO WORRIED AND WANT TO BE PROACTIVE! ANY ADVICE?
AHHHH!
WOMP WOMPPP!
Filed and accepted 2/3 with TT
PATH until 2/15
Generic “being processed” message since.
Zero update from state (MA) until today when I realized my state refund dropped from 768 to 300 for $ due from way back in 2012.
Ugh…
Does this mean maybe my federal will start being processed? Is it true that you cant file/process state before federal?
So done. :(
Pretty sure because we both have the same filing day that our cycles are updated weekly. Lucky us! Most people end up daily.
Yeah Ive had years where I was still at 1 or 2 bars and my DD went through overnight. AAAAAAAANYTIME NOW IRS. $$$$$
I’m telling you the people who filed between 1/20 and 2/10ish got the shaft. Everyone who has the “being processed, no bars” notification all fall within those weeks. Crazy.
Yeah if the funds were transferred through a middle man bank before being routed they def could have dropped in accounts today. The rollover times are weird.
Just be thankful you have a DDD and haven’t been frozen in a PATH/”Refund being processed” status for 18 days lol good luck everyone! On some other pages people got updates today. The IRS is open 7-7 if you feel you need to contact them regarding refund issues but their main goal was to pull 12 hours and get as many refunds processed as possible in hopes to hold up their statement of ETIC filers having their returns by 2/27. Ive checked my WMR too many times today and locked myself out so Ill have to wait til tomorrow to be disappointed all over again ;)
Ok so I posted a thread on a FB page and this seems to be the general consensus for a lot of people who filed between 1/20 and 2/10:
A TON of people have the same “still being processed” message on WMR. No bars (I never even saw theme ever! Just path and now this) BUT I also figured out that my cycle date from my transcripts (20170605) is a WEEKLY update and not daily. Depending on what date you filed you end up with one or the other. Sucks! :(
Also- Everyone Ive talked to that has called the IRS has said that they either say “it hasn’t been 21 days yet” OR “your return is being flagged for review, youll receive a letter in the mail”. I think both of these responses are the representatives way of getting rid of people calling inquiring about the status of their returns. Ive talked to people who called the IRS, were told to wait for a review letter and then got their DDD.. Its so shady.
I know the IRS stated that they would start processing returns before the 15th but wouldn’t release any refunds if filing with an ETIC until after 2/15 but I honestly don’t think they started processing the returns at all. I think everything got so backed up and that’s why theres a huge lag in updates. If any of you ordered BOTH transactions to be mailed or have viewed them online look at the very bottom of your account transaction where it breaks down the return values. On the left hand side there should be codes on every line. If you have a 501, 806, 766 or 768 you should be just fine. I hope this helps? Its so frustrating and it gets overwhelming sitting there not knowing whats going on (Ive been audited in the past so I know how scary it can be!)

Update: Nothing changed for me today. Still have the “return being processed” message. I have been getting everything from “youre fine” to “youre under review” which is making me crazy. If I were under review wouldn’t there be a notification or code on WMR or IRS2GO? Or even on my transcripts I already received in the mail on Friday?
Same boat guys! Filed and accepted 2/3. PATH until 2/15 when it went to the generic “we have your return and its being processed” message. I was able to order both transcripts and got them in the mail Friday. Everything looks normal. Codes are good. cycle 20170605 if that means anything. I just wish I knew the status. I don’t even care about a ddd I just want to know that its good to go or that Its held up in review or something. So frustrating :(
@brian23 I have the same thing. Filed and accepted 2/3. PATH message until 2/15 and now I have the “Your return is being processed” message. I was able to order both transcripts and got them in the mail on Friday. Nothing out of the ordinary. No codes signaling a problem.. I file married/joint with my husband. He has a w2. I have a 1099 with self employed writeoffs. I don’t even care when the ddd date is or even if I get audited (ive been audited in the past 4 years) I just wish I knew whats going on either way. The sitting in limbo waiting game SUCKS!
