The IRS already announced e-filed returns and refunds would process as normal even during a government shutdown if there were no errors or anything that needed to be manually done on the return.
Path is only ACTC/EIC. Normal CTC does not fall under path.
@tauxania IRS doesn’t open until Monday, all the acceptances were from testing (which not everyone gets accepted in) and it ended yesterday.
I can say that in all the years of being with/following IGMR we have never seen *anyone* with path credits (and who could provide proof) get their refund before path lifted regardless of when they were accepted. Also the IRS will still process returns as normal even if the government shuts down, even if there are credits involved.
It happens almost every sunday, it will likely go back to how it was before.
Amendments generally take a lot longer to process, but once you amended all processing on your normal return stopped and it will shift to the amended return.
February 8, 2025 at 6:39 pm in reply to: Cab 424/420 populate after initial transcript update? #4540923It can pop up at any time, but its definitely less likely once the rest has populated without it.
I filed 02/12, accepted 02/15. On 01/23 my account transcript showed up blank with all 0’s. I updated the following week to my transcripts filled out (except for 846 because of path) and my return transcript showing filled in.
Not everyone gets 806, it depends on your income and withholding. Not having it isn’t anything to worry about.
Usually no, they will request the number on the letter.
Unfortunately processing dates don’t really offer much about what your potential direct deposit date will be.
I also was accepted into the test batch and switched to an 04, my transcript is fully filled out but without path I will not get a deposit date. :)
You will have to see if the IRS lets it slip through and processes it, if they do once you receive your refund you can follow these steps to get the correct w2 and amend. *If* it doesn’t process and falls into wage review, you’ll likely need to do those steps and amend as soon as you know its been held up.

January 22, 2025 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Accepted today, paid for early refund, but claimed ACTC? #4540557Turbo tax gives an estimate based on 21 days, it’s not accurate. You will *not* get your refund before the 15th if you have ACTC/EIC even when using this since you can’t get a date until after 02/15. . Once the IRS gives you a deposit date, TT will issue the money to you immediately without waiting on the funds to actually arrive. The first update for people held by path won’t be until 02/18 for dailies, and 02/21 for weeklies at the earliest.
Yes, anyone accepted before the official opening date is in the test batch.
Sounds like a review of something on your return. Possibly a wage review?
