@pookie:
But back then you weren’t able to fill an amazon cart with all kinds of junk, and a newegg cart, and…for my spouse..an ebay cart…
Then there’s the playstation goodies…
I got my eye on some PS4 accessories..like replacing my current headset.
Maybe even a new PS4 and letting my kids have my current PS4…Then again..might just sit home and spend nothing.
I always dream big…and spend small.I’m responding for two separate tax returns. The first, which I posted about here…is my sister’s taxes. She’s filing HoH, 2 dep with EIC and ACTC. She has been accepted since the 13th…
Transcripts (both) available on 1/25. Lost 1 bar on WMR on 1/26 and replaced with PATH message. The 2nd is my wife and I and our kids. Filing our 4 kids, no EIC, no ACTC, but CTC..
Accepted on 1/24 same as filing day…WMR on 1/26 said DDD of 2/1.
Lucky us, our DD went into Credit Onion this evening, 1/30…at around 4:55pm.My sister is also using bank…not sure if it’s credit onion…I think it’s not. Just regular bank.
But ours definitely was in the bank early and available (not pending).
Actually I called the bank this morning (1/30 at around 9am) to ask if they could see anything pending in ACH…they said “No”. We had no pending deposit.
I checked a couple times throughout the day…still no deposit.
I just happened to check again right at 5:15..and the deposit had posted right before 5pm.you know you’re in a test batch if you are accepted by the federal BEFORE opening day.
That doesn’t mean your tax software accepted your return…it means you got an acceptance from the IRS with a submission ID and submission timestamp…For instance..my sister’s was filed on 1/5. However, she was accepted on 1/13 by the fed (the start of the test batch period). Testing runs up until a day or 2 before opening day.
Yolanda:
There was no code on the W2’s that I used when filing that you speak of. The EIN of employer, and some have a control number. They have always been there..and aren’t new.
@EO
Early acceptance means just that. It’s been accepted early. We know from past years that early acceptance generally means refunds come early. Not on/before the opening day, but generally within 2 weeks of acceptance, people start seeing refunds. The only year that didn’t happen was in 2014 when they started up a new system and had a bunch of laws that changed…People in the test batches found their refunds being delayed all because the test batches weren’t processing correctly and they had to be reprocessed.
The IRS website states a lot things…So yes, if you’re getting accepted by the IRS already, that means they are processing a few returns to test the computers. That’s what the test batches are for. That does not mean they just take a few returns from tax preparers and they are going to just sit in the queue until 1/23. They have already processed and are processing returns to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Once accepted and processed, the only delay afterwards is the release of funds unless the returns is flagged for follow-up. So, there will be several just waiting on the authorization to release funds…which should be very soon. If the law requires even the early acceptances to be held, then I am pretty positive we’ll see the people saying refunds are in their accounts during the week of 2/15. If the law just says they have to do some extra computing, and the returns are ready for fund release on 1/23, then i bet we’ll see people receiving money the first week of February.
Either way, early acceptance means exactly what it says…the IRS has accepted and IS processing the return. Regardless of what the site says… I’ve been in test batches for about 5-6 years now because I always have someone in my family’s tax returns done by 1/15 every year… And every year it’s the same thing…they are sending returns through the system to insure it works as it should.
@human123
Do you have EIC also? You can contact great lakes..but you might want to do it pretty fast. If you’ve already filed, then it’s likely too late.
If you don’t contact them, then you’re gonna wind up being offset with your refund..no other way to stop it.This was with FreeTaxUSA. Haven’t checked WMR, as it doesn’t usually update until nightly..but I wonder if refunds will be issued earlier for people in the test batches..seems like they would.
Netspend didnt send deposit alert for me, just happened to check the app and deposit was there. No text, and I’ve made sure text alerts were turned on..in fact, I got text alerts for other things that have been paid this morning, so they are working fine. Just didn’t do text for deposit.
No pending either. It was a $0 balance, then it was a $tax balance.
proof…not period…gotta love autocorrect….
I’m wondering where the folks who swore DD wouldnt happen on Sunday are also.
Can’t say I’m lying because I took a screenshot and cropped it on the dollar amount..But the proof is there..can’t fake that!
And just as I said, I am posting period of deposit.

@Texaswogood
What in the hell does being a cop have to do with knowing the IRS and ach deposit working?
That’s like saying cars don’t roll uphill, I know because I’m a veterinarian..Cops in Texas aren’t cops anymore, they are debt collectors thanks to the tag scanning system and credit card readers installed in patrol cars that allow them to pull over only people with warrants.
They are one of the most predatory loans you can get. Anyone who looks at the interest rate of them and can’t see it’s a predatory loan has no business even touching money..
The only time someone should even consider doing it is when all avenues have been exhausted.. they are NOT a loan to get just so you can go eat fancy tonight and buy some minutes for your prepaid phone..We live in a time of instant gratification..
Want something you don’t have? Order it online and have it delivered today (in certain areas).
Not at home and decide to impulse buy something? Hop on your phone’s app and shop away, and have the stuff tomorrow.Same for money. Want money today? Take your w2 to a predatory lender and walk out with $500 to $1000…but you’re gonna pay around $300 interest for a month. And if the refund is delayed, that amount will double for 2 months. Triple for 3 months. It’s ridiculous…you’re signing over not just your refund, but your liability if the IRS doesn’t process your refund in a timely manner..
What if you get delayed until October? then the lender can take you to court and show the contract that YOU signed…and will be subject to 25% of your paycheck. You can rack up fees up to $3000 just for getting a loan. (8 months @ $375/month)..If my sister gets her direct deposit to netspend today, i’ll post a screenshot of it so there is proof…instead of someone saying they got their refund early… Not saying people lie about it, but it’s been done before on here in years past..
If my sister gets her netspend card deposit today, I’ll post a screenshot showing proof so it’s not just someone on this site saying they got it.
I was wondering if it might go in today, just out of curiosity.
yeah, i bet when these deposits start hitting, people will be gone until next year. I’m here all the time so it don’t matter to me (at home i mean)..
I can’t look forward to tax time too much anyway…now come March, I look forward to the bonus check that will come rolling in…
My wife is an employee of Alabama power…and they give a bonus that is a percentage of last year’s gross base pay..
Last March it was 17%….of $59,000.
A week after bonus, they get a bonus on the overtime they worked last year.
she got a check last year of $8970…Heck, some of her paychecks have been more than a year’s tax refund..so it puts things in perspective.

Does your WMR say deposit sent? Or does it still show deposit approved?February 7, 2016 at 4:57 am in reply to: Credit Union People – When Did You Get Your Deposit? #4132422I know it sounds like it should be faster..credit union, federal….IRS federal ….but that don’t get it quicker. Last time I used credit union, my deposit was dated for Friday and I managed to be at credit union at 4:52pm and it went through at that time.
I’m betting if someone gets their money early, getting on the internet to come tell us about it will be the last thing on their minds. No matter if it’s 3pm or 3am, they will be jumpin up to run to the local “walmarts” just to start the spendin’ spree…
I remember those years that we used to do that…it was even better once we had a daughter old enough that we could actually go in the night and leave her siblings asleep with her and just buy stuff we wanted…versus just what we needed.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Sadly, this year I can not say there is a refund in our futures. For the year, $105,000 and $95,530 AGI..not enough paid in. It’s really no fun when you don’t wanna file because you owe them..
I can say I’d lots rather have a little money through the year, than to have a chunk of money once per year. Makes life so much easier.
Sure, you can dram if you want
@chalz2502
What type of update? You mean WMR tool?? (that answer is no)@JJ
My sister is in the same situation: Got up this morning and she had me check on her taxes…and it was filed on 1/29..accepted 1/29…but nothing else since that date.
Suddenly today, she had a DDD of 2/10. She has netspend, which I set up as the DDD account.
Sitting here while she calls to hear her balance..nothing on it yet. She said she gets a text when there is activity so she should know as soon as it happens…if it happens today.I will say this…I’ve learned to not believe so much of the “someone from somewhere said they knew someone who got their money today with a DDD of 2/10”..
Unless we are talking directly to the person who had this happen, then it’s hard to convince people of something like that.
February 6, 2016 at 1:47 pm in reply to: Does anyone else have Bluebird? Or had your dd rejected period for 2016? #4131881Such is the bureaucracy in which we live.
Most everyone got updated today. All the way from people who filed on 1/12..up to people who filed on 2/3 or 2/4. Looks as if everyone will be getting money next week.
I think most of the people these predatory loans target are younger people with kids.
It’s sickening, but it doesn’t matter the company ..every one of them from HRBlock to the local pawn shop will offer this crap. I have a friend, she’s doing tax prep for a couple years now, and she said she refused to do it because of the predatory nature…
And the fee they charge to process it (since the individual tax prep doesn’t have a hand in that particular fee…it’s $35 per loan from the prep fee the individual charges, plus if the loan doesn’t go through, the tax preparer has to pay that entire loan back..
She has around 1500-2000 clients, and she said her clients understood and were OK with not doing loans.I’d say unless they are coming to get your car today, or you’re getting evicted tomorrow morning…don’t take out this kind of loan.
I remember that feeling of “oh, we’re getting back $7,000..what’s $700 plus $395 in interest to get it a little quicker?”…
but, when the money is all gone, and you start looking at what you go to show for that extra money you gave them to have your own money a few days earlier…it makes you feel kinda stupid for doing it.
I mean.. what’s the point in it? (besides going along with the digital age concept of instant gratification)…
There is not much of a point in it, except just to be able to spend money quicker. It all spends the same no matter WHEN you get it in your hand.Everyone just keep an eye on card today, but most likely I’d say (just a guess) to watch even more closely on sunday night (after midnight)….and if nothing then, Monday evening between 2pm and 8pm..
Netspend apparently doesn’t use an ACH clearing house like banks do..usually banks can “see” a deposit early, but it’s not available to use until the date it’s got posted on it (because the clearing house don’t release until the date it’s told to)…
I believe cards like Netspend don’t use this and the funds go directly to them from Dept of Treas…We’ll all know when we see a pending deposit from Dept of Treas and a trace #…I’m really thinking Monday…hoping wee morning hours, but likely afternoon if I was being realistic.
Checked this morning for some family (we owe..so holding off on filing that particular return)…
Family 1: filed 1/23, accept 1/23, updated 2/6 with DDD of 2/10
Family 2: filed 1/25, accept 1/25, updated 2/6 with DDD of 2/10
Family 3: filed 1/29, accept 1/29, updated 2/6 with DDD of 2/10Really should not be on a tax refund site looking to find a date…Maybe match.com?
I see everyone talking about getting a date….y’all must be pretty desperate if everyone is dating …
Serious note, wonder if money will go through for those Feb 10 folks early…
You can believe there isn’t a fee if you want, but they aren’t going to just hand you $750 without some type of interest charges. One way or another they get money for doing it…and it’s hidden in the preparer fee schedule. I’ve been dealing with tax preparer office for years, setting up the computers, network and software for them…and the charges are there. It’ll be at least 300% annual interest rate.
This kind of loan is the most predatory loan you can possibly ask for.. It’s already your money and they make $200 to $500 to let you have a tenth of your money ten to fifteen days early… There is a reason why you have to have a minimum refund coming back to get the loan..So they know they will get their fees.
Nobody on this site can give you that answer. At best, any advice you get would be “guesstimation” and not really reliable — as the IRS isn’t being very reliable this year. There’s no rhyme or reason to their refund issuing.. it’s all over the place.
only way around this, and I’m not well versed in how it works, is if the offset belongs to your spouse and you filed injured spouse form. They will let you have SOME of the refund since it’s not yours directly…
But still they are going to get a majority of their money.February 5, 2016 at 11:24 pm in reply to: Does anyone else have Bluebird? Or had your dd rejected period for 2016? #4130718The problem herein is that people who steal identities of unknowing victims USED to be able to deposit the fed tax return in any account (prepaid) without any checks to avoid fraud…
Now they check up on it, like they should’ve all along. So now Joe Shmoe nextdoor can’t weed through your garbage during the year, and get your DL/exp/issue, SSN, DoB, and file your taxes for you and have it deposited and spent before you ever know it was even a thought..And by the time they catch up with Joe Shmoe, he could be living in another state doing that to someone else…
Let’s face it, this year’s long wait time and unheard-of periods of no news are because of damn criminals. So much fraudulent tax money went to crooks last year (and 2014) that the IRS has to do a blanket screwing of everyone who’s honest + the thieves. If things went like they did in the past, someone could file their taxes today (Feb 5th) and by Wednesday of next week they would have a pending deposit.
I know because I did just that last year. Filed taxes for my wife’s parents on Friday evening. On Wednesday they wanted me to check for them and see if it was coming, and sure enough…”Deposit sent” and the date was the following friday…which actually it deposited on the thursday prior to.I do taxes each year for a few family members (since i’m the “computer guy” in my family and have been for about 15 years now).. and I have seen it go from ridiculous (back when we didn’t have it so well, you could take your last check stub and walk out the door with $1000 of your $7000 refund)..
To not so ridiculous and somewhat headed the right direction: IRS made it where you couldn’t use last check stub to file, and the PREDATORY loans that HRB and others were doing were also made illegal (mainly because they charged a 497% interest rate annually)…and you could actually file taxes and not have to worry about it being a month or two…
To now, back to being ridiculous again: you can now do the predatory loans again…
and it takes ten times longer than it used to before all the ID theft crap.Sure there’s a market for people who just won’t wait for their money..and they are raking in hand over fist finance charges from those few..as they should…but bear in mind that the $5000 you get sometime this month will spend the same whether you get it instantly, or have to wait a week.
It took me years to convince my wife’s parent to stop going into a pawn shop to file taxes…
They were waiting the same amount of time that we were, and I was doing our taxes via FreeTaxUSA..
And even got ours back faster than they did a few times. Once they realized they were paying $700 to file taxes, and could’ve been paying $12.95…they came and asked could I do theirs also.
It’s ridiculous that a business model preys on people who are in need (of their own money) and are only out to help you put it in their hand even faster by filing and borrowing money against your refund…with a 300%+ interest rate.I went back and added up the 3 years that we did our taxes and did RAL loans…just the finance charges for the 3 years…
These were years where EIC was a big thing for us..
Just 3 years of filing, we paid $2200 in fees. (used to be that places could charge you a percentage of your refund amount as a fee…)Just not sensible…but neither is the long wait times we’re seeing in 2016. It’s 2016…You can have a bathroom mirror that shows you weather and news while you shave..but you can’t get a tax refund no sooner than a month from filing date? REALLY??!!!?!?!
This is the “system” everyone is talking about. Earlier this page said non operational for both systems.

No need to be angry or lose it with the IRS. Maybe it’s time to look at deductions throughout the year and have less money taken so your see more in your paycheck. Having a little money once per year is overrated and short-lived.
People who are dumb as bricks use the English language improperly… Let’s look at your use.
“If you have a bank account and opted for the card, than your even dumber than people without one.”
Than your even dumber. How about this…
Then you’re even dumber. You’re is a contraction for “you are”Seriously, you opted for the cars to get your refund 12 hours earlier?
Who opted for “cars” ? I didn’t see the option to get a car on the taxes I did for family, might’ve missed it though.
Go be a smartass elsewhere. You’re just a little internet troll, hiding behind your keyboard and marching on with your cause to make people have a bank account because it angers you that people don’t have bank accounts.
February 2, 2016 at 3:18 am in reply to: Does anyone else have Bluebird? Or had your dd rejected period for 2016? #4124841You gotta at least have him as named on account if doing that… That’s why rejected. If you had put him on it before they sent deposit, you possibly could have caught it, but too late now. They will send paper check
If anything like years before, don’t look for speed with Alabama. I’ve seen them as far out as June, with filing at end of January
February 1, 2016 at 10:23 am in reply to: DDD for 2/3 has anyone recieved their refund early? #4123968I’ve been on this site since..2011 or 2012…happened upon it by accident and come back each year just to see what people are seeing in refund status.
Sadly, this year I can’t say we have anything to look forward to in my household. It sucks when you go from being mid-twenties and looking forward to tax time to help catch up, to being almost 40 (well, 37), and making too much during the year so that you have to itemize to keep from paying. I gotta say, I remember the years where EIC was the only thing we had to look forward to after Christmas…and it was short-lived. I’m trying to get the same point across to my sister…who lives with us..and has 2 children. She wants the Fed (IRS) to pay her for having the 2 kids she has… She has this idea that she should be able to make $10k in a year, then receive $10k in tax refund just because she has children. I told her she needs to make her money throughout the year, instead of struggling and only having a little bit of money once per year…
Also seems like each year on this site, the hate gets worse and worse. People get meaner, more hateful and harsh, and all because of the almighty dollar..
Don’t let a piece of paper divide you or separate you from your moral compass. It’s just a piece of paper, and rooted in evil at that. As fast as it goes into your bank accounts, it’ll leave your bank accounts and you’ll be looking for next year. I realize instant gratification has become the way of life for the digital age…where we can order stuff on Amazon today and have it at our door tomorrow…etc, etc, but be thankful for the small things in life…like waking up each day. It doesn’t mean much if you can’t wake up to spend all this money that you guys are looking forward to.. So many times people take it for granted..
I hope everyone gets to a place financially where you can not worry about tax time.. I never thought I would be able to say that for the last year, our AGI was $95,500…but that’s the case… Only downside is I played with deductions one too many times through the year (when big checks were coming) and would forget to change them back, so the IRS didn’t get enough (according to them). Having to itemize some medical expenses to keep from paying back $953 to uncle Sam…
Keep your heads up folks. Those who are on pins and needles waiting on a deposit..just remember how fast it takes to be right back in the same boat..and waiting on another year’s tax refund.. Save, save, save!!
I filed on January 18, accepted on 20th, and the money was put in our credit union after they closed this evening.
I did call them today once I saw that wmr said January 30 deposit date, they said they saw the ACH coming but it was dated 30th. I logged into our online account just an hour ago and the balance is already showing the deposit and it’s from taxes….so it went earlier than they thought. -
