@steven7960 You crossed my mind so I’m back to check in. Does the SBTPG website show that they received your refund? Does it say funded? I have my fingers crossed for you! If you haven’t gotten it yet I bet you will have it by tomorrow.

PATH isn’t lifted until after the 15th. Some PATHers got lucky and got a DDD today for 02/16 but I expect you (and a lot of other PATHers) will get your DDD next Friday if you’re a weekly.

As for your transcripts – it’s totally normal to still have to wait for your DDD (and not have it be something bad like an audit, wage/income verification, ID verification, etc). As long as you don’t see any bad codes such as 971 (notice issued), there’s nothing to worry about!
@steven7960 Of course! I’ve been doing some digging here on the forum trying to find people who used CK to see what the timeline looks like but as you know, people suck at updating after receiving their $$. From the couple posts I saw I would say Tuesday at the latest but maybe make a post asking people who used the CK card if they’ve received theirs early. Fingers crossed for an early deposit for you!
For 02/16* not 02/26
Just reread the title of your post so I’m guessing you do. For some reason I thought I saw you say that you don’t have access to your transcripts on one of these threads a couple days ago. If you do have the 846 for 02/26 I would expect it on Monday with CK. My husband has the same DDD and got his refund today at 11:30AM EST with Varo.
Do you have access to your transcripts?
I’m not a tax pro but I have personally had to do this before without issue and the amounts matched the 1099-G that ended up coming later. The only concern here is that they stated there was an error. If anything in your portal is incorrect you may run into issues.
I’m unsure if Michigan is different than where I live (I live in CT), but I don’t see why you couldn’t file without it. All you would need is the Department of Labor’s federal and state identification numbers (which can be found on a prior year’s 1099-G), the total amount of your payments, the total amount of state and federal taxes withheld, and the total amount you had to repay if you were overpaid benefits.
Please keep us updated on what happens! It will be helpful for others who may be in the same situation. This forum is a wealth of information and has helped me personally numerous times
Normally I would say your current year transcripts would show the code 971 (notice issued) if it was something else but I saw a post yesterday of a woman who got the 60 day review notice and she said her transcripts are still N/A so who knows anymore 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
If you haven’t received the interest notice already I’m betting it’s that.
It’s probably just the letter reporting how much they paid you in interest on your refund from last year for making you wait. The interest is taxable so you’re supposed to use form 1099-INT to report it on your return
I will be doing that from this point forward. I would rather owe them and take until right before the deadline to pay them (just like they take their sweet, sweet time giving us back OUR OWN money) than to deal with their nonsense for even 1 more year. For 3 years now my husband and I have waited months to get our refunds, and that’s with countless calls to the taxpayer advocate and our congresswoman.
@boboli I know it doesn’t help you now, but adjust your withholding amounts on your W4. We are all giving the government an interest free loan by overpaying federal and state taxes. Take that money each paycheck and put it into a savings account with interest! While it is nice to get a lump sum once a year, it’s not worth all the hoops they make us jump through.
I have never gotten my state before federal but I woke up this morning with a ddd of tomm fir ny state. Will that go through Santa Barbara? Will they take the fees out of state? More curious, I don’t care lol
Yes, they’ll take it from your state taxes. They’ll take it from whichever refund comes first, or both if the first doesn’t cover all of the fees.
No problem at all and best of luck!
They’ll see that she did receive it and will correct it. It will be accepted as returns only get rejected when personal info (SSN, prior year AGI, etc) is incorrect or a return has already been filed under that SSN for the current tax year. I would expect a delay of 1-2 weeks at minimum.
They’ll take the fees from whichever refund comes to them first. If whichever refund comes first doesn’t cover all of the fees then they’ll deduct from the other refund as well
Why are they saying you were overpaid? Are they saying you weren’t eligible for that period of time? My husband owed unemployment for an overpayment (we live in CT) and they garnished his CT state taxes but not his federal. If you call the offset line at 1-800-304-3107 it will tell you if you have one or not. There may also be an offset line for your state, but that number is for the treasury (for your federal taxes).
I’m not sure how long it takes SBTG to take their fees and send the money because I free file but I have Chime and received my refund on Friday 2/04 around 5:30pm EST with a ddd of 2/09.
