I already got my refund on 3/2… But today I just got a letter in the mail which I figured was my transcripts I ordered on the 26th. Well it’s not them, instead it’s a letter that says..
We’re contacting you to report on the status of the request we received. We apologize for the inconvenience but we are not able to process your request at this time. You or your representative can contact the Idenity protection specialized unit. (And then gives the number)
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
Hey all! Called my bank and its pending deposit for tomorrow! I filed 1/26 and was accepted 15 mins later. Bars went away on the 30th. I waited to call till the 8th on a Monday and was told to verify by phone which I did. I called back the next day for an advocate and claimed a hardship. Surprisingly I got one by Friday. Even though it was still so early. After I verified I guess they still didn’t believe who I was which the advocate said. She had me send our socials, ids, marriage certificate, and a letter from both jobs with our income. I was told the case should be closed by April 14th. Well I got my ddd finally on the 27th for 3/2. I’m sure I would of been waiting a lot longer for it if I didn’t get an advocate. So if you can ask for one!!! I hope you all get yours soon!
And @texasgirl thank you so much for all your help! This forum kept me going for the last couple weeks. I wouldn’t of ever thought to get an advocate if it wasn’t for you! So thanks again!!!:) till next year!
My TA just called. It’s official direct deposit date is for March 2nd!!! Woohooo!!!!!
I can order my return transcript now!! Ddd probably tomorrow morning! I think the wait is almost over.
Well now my address was updated on my transcripts!! Can’t order either one but it’s updated! Hopefully tomorrow things change. 2 good things in one day has me a little hopeful!
Well mine finally changed a little! It now says we RECEIVED and is being processed. still can’t order transcripts with our new address but hopefully that will happen soon. I got overly excited when I saw that… But the no transcripts brought me back down to reality lol.

Do they do updates Tuesday night into Wednesday morning? Or Wednesday into Thursday? I hoping my transcripts update this week for a ddd on Saturday. I’m not counting on it though lol
I sure hope so!!! This is ridiculous. Changing my info doesn’t take 9 weeks. I literally asked… So what takes the 9 weeks?!?! To press back space and enter my new address or is it my last name? She had no answers. Clearly If someone can file right now and receive money before you change my last name… That’s a serious problem lol
I seriously think I’m going to lose my mind soon. Filed 1/26. Accepted right away. Bars went missing 4 days later. Verified on the 8th.. Got a TA on the 11th. She had me fax our info over so she could send it to the IRS to speed up the return to prove who we were. She’s calling me back on the 2nd of march. I still can’t order anything under my new address. So I went ahead and called the IRS and they still have my old name and old address in the system. She’s now telling me it will be 9 weeks from the 19th when they looked at my info. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I asked why in the world are people who verified over the phone the same time as me or days after getting a deposit already? This is insane. She said if we don’t get it by April 2nd to call back and that’s it. I’ve had it.
I know people who verified 2 days after I did that had deposits on the 18th. I don’t know what the hold up here is. I still can’t order transcripts under my new address. And she said nothing else was wrong with my taxes besides the verify.

Well my TA finally got back to me and sent all the paperwork over to the IRS. I id verified last Monday the 8th. Still never updated my info or released anything. My TA had me fax her our liscense, socials, marriage certificate, a paper with each of our employers letterhead on top with how much we made and the federal taken out. She said she just wanted to prove we are who we say we are to them. She asked if we had any Idenity problems past years. I said no. She said it’s ridiculous this year and they’ve been crazy busy because of how many issues people are having. But anyway, she said they have a week to respond to her and then hopefully release our money. Which then she said would take 7-10 days to go through once they do.. so we had to be patient. I hope this isn’t another 3 weeks!!! Ugh.I had to verify on Monday of last week 2/8 after I had no bars or a tax topic for almost 2 weeks. My address changed and my last name changed. I called for a tax advocate on Wednesday. Lots of people that had to verify from 2/8-2/10 I saw got ddd for the 18th and I still didn’t. Tax advocate was assigned to me on Thursday and talked to her Friday. She said it just seems that they haven’t released anything or changed anything because of my identity. But I passed the verification. So she had me fax her my husband and my SS card, ids, marriage certificate, and a letter from our jobs with the letterhead on top and how much we made and withholding so they can see we are in fact who we said we are. Hopefully this speeds things up. It makes no sense how people verified after me and already got a ddd. She said she will follow up with me on March 2nd. It better be here before she calls!!:(
I’m going through the same thing. Mine has nothing but my husbands is at one bar etc. I called and had to verify my identity. Is your name the first name on the return? Mine was and that’s what they told me was wrong with ours. 9 weeks they said:(

I just got off the phone with someone again today. They said again that I passed the identity check yesterday and it was taken off hold and put back into processing. I asked why my new address and name haven’t been updated when I try to order account transcripts. She said because it was just put back into processing yesterday and it can take up to 9 weeks to process that. Everything else was fine. Shouldn’t that info be updated then right away at least? I can only order account and return transcripts of 2014 from my old address. She said it has to process before I can for this year. It makes no sense as to why if we are all being put back into processing that it would take 9 weeks instead of staring over and waiting the most 21 days. I called an advocate yesterday just waiting on a phone call back. I feel like I’m getting nowhere :(

They actually told you April 11th?!? I talked to two people and they said it could take up to 9 weeks. The last lady said I may get something in the mail as well. I left a msg for a tax advocate today. They supposedly verify you… But then don’t update any of your info. It’s just crazy.
Yeah they are closed already here. I’ll try again first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks again for all your help!:)
I can’t order a transcript under my new address. Only last years from my old.
Ok thanks again! I have an office really close to me actually. Do you think I could just go there with copies of my marriage and new address ?
Also my last name has changed since I’ve gotten married. Every time they ask my name I tell them and they say “do you go by another name”? They don’t have my new name if filed with?! I verified this morning shouldn’t they have this info by now?!? Lol
So I verified and called back to make sure everything was ok. I called again the regular number and my address still isn’t updated. I called and said that and they said it won’t happen right away and that I still may get something in the mail but 9 weeks is the estimate. If they updated my info when verifying my new address then I they should have it when I call….
So I verified and she said I’ll have to wait 8-9 weeks. You have got to be kidding me.
Well I was just informed my return is in holding. I need to verify. Joy!!!! Lol

I’ve had no bars or tax code for over a week now. I just called the number with ex 652. Finally someone was looking up my info. Waited 35 mins to talk to someone. He got everything and said ok hold on a minute. I said ok and CLICK he hung up. Accidentally or not here I am waiting all over again :(
My bars and tax topic disappeared the 29/30th I don’t exactly remember. I can’t order transcripts except for my old address from 2014. His still shows 1 bar with tax topic 152. But I’m the primary person the return was under. I know a lot of people who filed days after us that got a return the 5th or the 7th. I’m getting worried. A lot has changed from last year to this year with us. I hope we weren’t flagged because of it:(
I filed the 27th. Accepted same day. (I know it was much later than most of you). But 2 days later I lost the bars and tax topic. I haven’t seen either since then. It’s been a week now. I filed a joint return with my husband and I’m the first name on it. I can see 1 bar on his and tax topic 152. His twin brother and wife filed 2 days after us and got a deposit for 2/5. A lot of stuff changed this year. We are married filing together (last year we filed seperate) my last name changed, and we had a baby. Plus this return is the largest one either of us ever got. I was wondering if maybe we were flagged because of so many changes. Of course the IRS won’t tell me anything :( Hope these bars come back!!! But not likely.
