That makes some sense.This is how FOS NYS T&F is; Did my nephew’s return 2/7, FED DDD 2/22, ONE week later NY Tax Refund website updates his money has been applied to his overdue student loan. No problem there, he owes it, just indicates how quickly these State returns are actually being processed, four weeks from filing date.

The IRS has the same anti-fraud policies, they’re processing.

Must add; JAN 24 filing received FED refund first week FEB. Still waiting on NYS. In my previous experience the State is only a week or two behind IRS. This year is a disaster
Filed JAN 24, simple return w. no credits quickly accepted, further review until last week, still processing and no DDD. Don’t believe what NYS tells you, calling is a waste of time, surprised they even answer. When is the news media going to investigate this charade ?

Filed first return Jan 16 refunded Feb 12. Another on Jan 24 is still processing. Another on Jan 30 refunded Mar 2. Doesn’t seem to be anything predicable.
The professionalism of the NYS Income Tax Bureau and NYS Department of Taxation and Finance continues to deteriorate. Too many political appointees in positions of authority, literally hundreds.
