Issues 2/5Will update when it hits my bank. traditional checking account so I’m assuming It’ll be about 3 to 5 days.
Just FYI…there were early filers that did get accepted before the 27th. I filed on the 17th and was accepted with 2 check marks on the 21st. California happens to be 1 of 7 stand alone states that don’t piggyback off of federal returns. This means CA typically doesn’t wait until the irs “opening date” to process and issue state refunds.
Something definitely has changed this year because the trend on this forum seems to be that regardless of the acceptance date, people Still didn’t actually see “issued” on dates on ftb until after the 27th. Who the heck knows…
Idk…just run me my money California! Don’t they know we all have high ass rent/mortgages to pay?! Lol
So I called and spoke with someone again today. Each previous call I was just given the same bs “you’re processing, just wait 4 weeks, 6 weekS or 8 weeks” message. Today I decided to go with a different approach and play the sympathy card which I hate doing btw. Told the lady that “I was so sorry for being a pest but I’m depending on the money. I know I shouldn’t depend on it but this year I am, yada yada”.
Anyways, this sweet sweet woman verified my info and told me that she pushed my refund through. Fingers crossed that It was true and I see some sort of update by Friday as I’ve been processing for 2 damn weeks now. I’ll keep y’all posted!
Called the 7088 number
@marcy
Did you file thru calfile?I don’t understand why they’re working the most recent returns before the older ones. It seems like they’re working backwards. I’ve seen hella people that filed end of January get theirs within a week (or at least approved/issued) and anyone that filed pre-irs opening date is stuck on the one month message. Literally no rhyme or reason to how they’re processing this year. And not to mention all of the strange time frames agents are giving people that call. How is it 2 weeks processing time and then 4-8 weeks and then 6 weeks???!!
Kicking myself in the a** for re filing through calfile. TT return was rejected and calfile was accepted 1/21- been stuck on received and processing ever since. Talked to 2 reps yesterday. 1 said processing time is 2 weeks. The other one said it’s 4-8 weeks yet many people are getting them within 3 days? Seems to be the trend for us early filers. Congrats to those who have gotten theirs but now I’m getting a little frustrated!
FYI- I have no CA EITC. Not sure if that even makes a difference for state return. Just a simple refund, 1 w-2 and 1 dependent. Just getting back what I overpaid.
No update for me either. Hopefully re-filing with the state didn’t cause any issues…smh
Mine says 1 month also. In the past, the one month message indicated there was an issue. Seems like it’s now standard with whatever change the state made this year.
Well I guess it’s good to know that they won’t issue for 2 weeks. Now I can stop checking the website 3 times a day hoping for a change.
So I just got the message from turbo tax that my ca was rejected which is what I expected since I re filed directly through the state. Anyways, chatted with ftb and asked if their wmr updates throughout the day or if it’s just once like the federal wmr tool. They said they update all day so I guess I will be checking every hour on the hour like some kinda crazy person…smh
Wtf is up with California moving so slow this year?! Been on processing for over a week. In the past its never taken more than 3 days to go from processing to issued. Matter of fact, I’ve always gotten CA Refund in my account within a week of filing.
Does anyone know if they issue all day?
After filing again through cal file, My state is now showing received. Tt still shows pending. Something definitely was funky with tt state software.
I resubmitted through cal file as well last night. Hopefully it’ll just get rejected by turbo tax once ca receives.
Same here. Filed turbo tax on the 16th and ca FTb still says they haven’t received it? Usually CA receives within 1 day and then approves within 3 days. Oddly slow this year or maybe it’s a turbo tax issue.
