I think the IRS just made up their minds and just said… the portal isn’t working. It’s always crashing so paper checks it’ll be. I suggest to call or go by y’all’s postal service and give them a new address for the old address. They will hold that mail for you. I’ve done it many of times when I moved this last time. They held all my mail even though the address was wrong.
I want to say that regardless if we input a DD, IRS already made up their mind about sending it out. Update was too late when posted. So IRS sending out checks next week. Sucks. But it is what it is. Lesson learned about our taxes. Smh.
I would change the DD to paper check. Banks are so backed up and will continue for a while for the deposits to clear. This whole thing is crazy. I think the IRS should’ve just sent out everyone checks. Period.

Exactly. It’s not a active account. This is why I won’t go through HR no more. Event with paying my fees, this is what happened. So unfair. Every year I pay $500 to file with them with “Piece of mind” and it’s absolutely not worth it.@keith
I didn’t put anything. Even putting the emerald account information, it won’t work. It’s all getting rerouting to checks because it’s a inactive account now.Remember. It’s a 3rd party. That account isn’t active no more. The moment you receive your refund from your taxes, it gets closed.

I didn’t move it till I can get through. I knew calling will get me aggravated so I stuck here and kept reading everyone’s comments and concerns. I have the Emerald Card but I didn’t input that for my DD. It just gave me the information about my check on the 24th.Oh! And I also have the Emerald Card. I will NO LONGER use H&R NO MORE!!!!! 8yrs dealing with them and it’s just a money bucket. I’m going to do my own taxes from now on.
And! Check your city/county. Addresses changes also. Like for instance… if your address was 1234, it can be 12345. Weird I know, but remember your address isn’t ALWAYS the same every year. Our county changed the address without telling us. Get with your local postal and ask about your address.
