I don’t know if anyone is interested, but I have tried looking at a lot of the posts and it looks to me that the people who seem to be having the longest wait time (except for ones that got pulled for review or something else), are the ones who filed in January either before the IRS started processing returns or shortly after and the ones who used turbo tax. Also I think we all know now that if you get it sent to a prepaid card you will get it 24-48 hrs earlier than you would if it’s sent to your regular checking account. I’m just trying to use all the info about what helps and what makes things worse for next year. I think I will be getting a netspend card, because they seemed to release funds the earliest and I think I will file around the same time I did this year which was around 2/6/17. I think some of the earliest filed returns almost get stuck and backlogged for some reason. With this new law, there is no reason to file in January because they only need 10-14 days to process your return, otherwise it just sits there and doesn’t move.
If anyone else had noticed anything that may be helpful for all of us next year…please share!Filed 02/04
Approved same day
Changed to processing 02/12
Have child credit but never not PATH message
02/18 for DDD of 02/23
Had refund sent to my checking account
Refund deposited around 5am 02/23
WMR never updated past 2nd bar (checked this morning)@RileyM- are you saying you filed on 02/08 and it stuck on received (only 1 bar on WMR) ? Or are you waiting on a DDD?
If you haven’t gotten a DDD date, you may want to call the IRS, because either they didn’t update WMR or there is a problem where they can’t approve it. All the people who had a 02/23 DDD didn’t get that update on WMR until 02/18, so maybe they will be updating everyone with a DDD tomorrow or Saturday, and if that is the case you will get your refund next week (prob Thursday), as long as there are no problems. I would just call the IRS, because at least you’ll know. Good Luck everyone! Hope all the 02/23ers get their sometime today!This forum has absolutely helped me not worry so much. Not thrilled with all the news as it keeps pointing to no one except a rare few getting their refunds before the DDD this year, at least if you requested for it to be deposited into a checking account. I think I will be getting a netspend for next year! If nothing else it gave us all something to do in between the calls to the IRS, checking WMR, checking our accounts…etc. I am praying everyone gets their DDD’s soon if you are one of the ones who is stuck in processing (that has to be the most stressful situation to be in). I stopped complaining about not getting my refund before my DDD, when I saw that some people that filed and got accepted earlier than me haven’t gotten a DDD yet. I am hoping I get my DD tonight or in the morning because I guess apparently they can keep it until the 27th if they really want to stick it to us. Good luck everyone and how that u have read my LOOOOOONG post, it’s time to check to see if your deposit is in your account 😜
@jenn….
I knew I should have gotten an emerald card! I used H&R Block like you and had my fees taken out, but used my bank account for my dd. I wonder if H&R Block is able to release them to the emerald cards today if they will release it to my bank today?Also…and this could be for many people waiting. If you filed like I did through a tax preparer like H&R Block or tax act or whoever and I did not pay your filing fees upfront, your whole return goes to the preparer first and then on to your bank or prepaid card so in that case wouldn’t the whole though process about the banks holding the refund until the DDD not apply? I mean if your preparer gets it, takes their fees then send it to your bank the DDD wouldn’t really apply because you aren’t getting your refund from the IRS anymore, you are actually getting it from the preparers bank right ? Unless your preparer post dates the deposit which it seems they would ever care to bother with that and end up having to answer extra calls from people wanting to know where their money is. You would think they would just send it since they have already gotten their $ out of it.
@MiziSeirei……
Is your DDD 2/22 or 2/23? I was asking because mine is the 23rd, but since you said that tomorrow it will be but 24hrs until your DDD. I have seen several people that have a DDD of 2/22/17 posting that they either got their deposits on Friday 2/17/17 or that it was pending with their bank on the 17th. I am hoping that if the people who have a DDD of 2/22/17 got their money on 2/17/17, that the group of us who have a DDD 2/23/17 will get their money tomorrow which is the first day the federal reserve will open since last week.I am not sure if it will be the same as last year, but I do remember that when it was close to my DDD date that I would check my bank account every morning to see if it was there and then one afternoon before my DDD my HusB called me because he had gone to the ATM at lunch to get some cash out for lunch and noticed the higher than normal balance on the withdrawal slip. I had checked around 10am and it wasn’t there, but when he went to lunch which was about 3pm it was there so I think they can release the funds anytime now or maybe only until 2pm or whatever the official cut off time is for deposits. My point is if you check it in the morning, yousy want to check it in the afternoon too if you are eager to get it, which most people including myself are. I hope people come back and post if/when they receive their deposits, but most people are on here trying to find out info as to when they might receive it, so they probably won’t come back on here after they get it just because they will be busy paying bills and all.
@4464c waiter…..
A 4464c letter means that the IRS has pulled your tax return for review. It should state on the letter the basic reason as to what they are looking at/for. It may say they are reviewing your reported income or reviewing credits claimed or lots of other things. It’s not an examination or audit, so you don’t have to do anything except wait, but if they find something and do decide to do an examination they will let you know and you may have to provide documentation if they ask for it, but hopefully they will just review it and release your refund! -
