Here is another link where you can see other people in the past that have gotten that message as well and their experiences

This link is for those are wishing to request a tax advocate. If you don’t qualify you will not get help so only those people in certain circumstances can get a TAS.Mel,
I’m not sure. I’m still sitting at two bars for whatever reason. My bank said that if the IRS did release my refund to my bank that it could post anywhere from 5:30am-2:00pm est. I’m already on est so that makes it a little easier for me. I’ll keep ya posted.Call the IRS. For some people like me it was because my return was pulled for manual review. Other people on here claim it happened to them and it didn’t mean anything. Your best bet is to call the IRS directly after 21 days are up and complain. Seriously, and tell them you want a tax advocate.
Actually yes I did. I paid for my fees upfront too. My DDD is 2/1 as well. This is some silliness for sure.
@pavi please let us know what happens and if you get your bars back, regardless of why it’s happening to you I’m wishing you luck hon. In the event that you do need assistance please follow those links that I posted. Good luck. Keep us posted.
@ pavilion also this link may help you as well:
taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/get-help/held-or-stopped-refunds@pavi I had that same message back in 2015 and my stuff was correct as well. I was pulled for a manual review. I had filed in 01/15 and did not end up getting my refund until 04/15. That was WITH a tax advocate. No it does not cost you to get a tax advocate. You will have to qualify however. Here is a link on general information about qualifying:

Like I said I have EXPERIENCE with having got that message myself. It may mean nothing for you at all but as I stated previously MOST LIKELY it means it was pulled for manual review. You can always call the IRS directly and ask for more information.@me thanks for letting us know. Does anyone have any experience dealing with a vanilla visa debit card? I have the regular vanilla visa debit card not the gift card type and was wondering if anyone has any experience receiving their refunds on that card. Thanks.

It means that your return has been pulled for manual review MOST LIKELY. You will need to wait the full 21 days after your accepted by date and then call the IRS. Ask them why you have not received your refund yet, tell them it’s been over 21 days. After they tell you whatever reason your refund has not been gotten tell them you want a tax advocate.
My DDD is for 2/1 as well and I still have nothing in my account. Not even anything pending. Single no EIC or actc.

I forgot to include a w2 last year and it did not delay my refund. The biggest things that IRS is concerned about are people trying to file with invalid or stolen SSN, people claiming kids that don’t belong to them, people trying to get huge deductions like say you made $10,000 but are trying to claim taxable donations of $29,000 or some other stuff ECT. I wouldn’t worry to much. If the w2 is less than a certain amount then it’s not a big deal. I think it has to be like less than $400 or so but you can call the IRS to double check or go to the IRS website.
@everyone, I was starting to get worried too. I’m not sure what’s causing delays. Sometimes, I’ve been reading it can be an overload of returns, or sometimes people get pulled for manual review (that happened to me in 2015), sometimes new laws are passed like this path act for people with EIC and actc. But, I’m hoping those with one bar get updated tonight and I’m sending positive hopeful vibes your way.
@pavi I checked wmr earlier. On the IRS site. It said approved. I’m scheduled to get mine DD on Feb. 1st. @brentalfloss I’m not sure what time it updates in Arizona however you can find the info on the IRS site that tells you the time it updates.
Ha! I got 2 bars after posting this lol. I hope you guys who are stuck get 2 bars as well. Good luck!
I have a feeling that us 1/13/17 açcepted filers are going to be stiffed this year.
Ugh people are tired of waiting for their money IRS. Fork it over already! Lol especially for us test batch filers!!!
January 26, 2017 at 12:00 pm in reply to: Is anyone else who was accepted before opening day #4153083Thanks everyone who’s been responding. I do appreciate it. I wish everyone luck. Hopefully tonight or early morning tomorrow we will have DDD.
@pavi yes it’s very frustrating to say the least. People who filed after us are getting DDD. Some people who claim they filed with dependants are already getting DDD. Well we just have to hang in there and I’m hoping maybe tomorrow we will have a DDD.
January 26, 2017 at 5:27 am in reply to: Is anyone else who was accepted before opening day #4152940Thanks @ brentalfloss. I’m waiting for an email from my prepaid card as well. I’m using the prepaid ( not the gift card version) of vanilla visa this year. Good luck everyone.
Not yet. It’s getting frustrating for test batch filers.

I am still at one bar. I’m hoping for an update tomorrow I guess. I think this year and for years going forward they may indeed start making people wait and not their refunds for single filers with no credits the full 21 days and for the EIC and other credit people they might make them wait 4-6 weeks. Just my guess is all based on this year. I’m only guessing I’m not making definite claims.
I filed on the 6th through h&r block and was accepted on the 13th. So far as of 2:10am est I still only have 1 bar on the wmr site. Hoping those of us who were accepted early have some DDD by Friday. Good luck all.
Single, no credits. Filed 1/6 accepted 1/13.January 23, 2017 at 5:42 am in reply to: Anyone not claiming eitc or actc…have you filed??? #4151695I filed on Jan. 6th and was accepted on the 13th. I still as of earlier this morning only had 1 bar on wmr. I wish everyone luck.
I got that generic message in 2015. I can’t say exactly what that would mean for you, but, for me my return was pulled to be audited. I had filed in Feb of 2015 and did not receive my refund until April 2015. I had to get a tax advocate. Basically it was because I had a name change and the SSA office did not communicate this to the IRS. Anyways, I wish you luck. If you get letters in the mail from the IRS you can call and request a tax advocate.
I filed on the 6th of Jan and was accepted on the 13th. No credits so I shouldn’t have any delays in my refund. However, what I’m wondering is when I will actually get my refund since when wmr went down this morning I’m still sitting at the return received bar.
