      my brother’s shows a mail date for 24th and I went to ensure his direct deposit information is correct. Supposedly if your bank information has been updated and is correct then stimulus checks will be deposited tomorrow. All other filers/non filers will be sent checks to address listed. So I told my brother to pray and hoping that is true.

        @Shona, are you able to successfully log into the IRS portal? If so, does it state mailed check with a date and is your bank account set up and verified to be correct?

          For all the people who have received their paper checks in the mail… Do you all reside in or around the New York/New Jersey area? Trying to see if there is a correlation with addresses near the epicenter of the US coronavirus.

            And not trying to discourage anyone by any means. Everyone is struggling in these times whether you admit it or not.

              There is no ignorance if I am simply stating what I have read and verified from trusted sources. I don’t refute your statements that the IRS is moving faster than scheduled or that some have received their checks in the mail. I am facing the same issue tying to resolve it for my brother. The fact is anyone can say or type what they want whether it is true or false. But until I am presented with actual facts and verification I have to rely on what has been written by trusted sources.

                And just to re-iterate about my statement earlier about H&R being at fault…. if anyone can recall back in 08 when stimulus payments were issued, same thing with H&R occurred. Only difference was there was no pandemic and noone really made much about receiving their checks months later. So H&R should have came up with some kind of resolution to not have this happen again if economic failure occurred once more.

                  If you had/have an Emerald Card, that is exactly what happened. The IRS used the bank info on file from H&R but it was most likely a 3rd party bank account where the refund was sent to first then to H&R then to you. So hopefully now that your bank info is up-to-date the possiblility of having the stimulus payment direct deposited to you next week happens

                    @jdojdo

                    I recently read a memo from the Treasury stating no checks have been mailed to date. Reason why IRS portal states check mailed on the 24th is to give filers and non filers additional time to update direct deposit info. Once the 24th has passed, then checks will be mailed.
                    Also statement of mailing of checks starting with lowest AGI to highest is supposedly true.

                      paul and Brandy, have either of yall attempted to log back into IRS portal and update direct deposit bank information to reflect current one. It says mailed after April 24th for my brother

                        Been trying to scroll through for answers but for all who are supposedly waiting on a mailed check, do any of yall remember if the IRS portal said “check mailed on April 24th” or “check mailed after April 24th” ?

                          @jdojdo

                          So far all I can figure out is… because H&R used a third party bank (most likely Axos) for Emerald Card, the IRS sent payment to the third party account first and most likely it was sent back and is awaiting approval or verification of information. Problem is I checked and that account was closed aleady. So when my brother went to update his own account info or Emerald Card account , it either told him info is incorrect or locked him out.

                            Captain, yes some of blame can be traced back to IRS. I have no info on the other tax preparers and how they are handling this issue. Just focusing on H&R since I used them also and received my payment on April 15. But I do not have an Emerald Card as my brother does but I did have my fees taken out by using a refund transfer

                              Hello men and ladies, during my research for my brother,whom used H&R block and elected to receive an advance and has an Emerald Card, I stumbled onto this forum. I have discovered some information pertaining to all this mess which in my mind is 90% H&R’s fault.
