If you have to ID verify ask to do it when you call so have ur w2 for this past return if pandemic unemployment then ur 1099 and have ur w2 and 1040 for last file just be polite. @Momof4: I was Transferred to TPP I had my 1040 from my 1099G &my last year filed 2017 my 1040 wasn’t enough needed W-2 & lady said I can’t verify without code on letter & needed W-2 to answer questions wouldn’t explain what I had 2do an said I can’t even send another letter without verifying which is BS. I was pissed I waited long enough &man said no letters R being mailed .I called back sameday got ID verified was told generic9 weeks that was last Weds I got date last night

You need to call If you need a number to IRS there is a section call the number given for the option of EXT652. Ok so I Efiled/accepted 3/3
Called month later was told I had 2ID verify letter mailed 3)15 mind you when I called it was month almost since letter mailes. I talked with 7 CSR past 8weeks only 1st and last was helpful. Others lied I was told letters don’t always get mail out. I shouldn’t had 2wait 8 weeks to ID Verify
