Not trying to be in your business, but I have access to some info via someone in the chain of info from the feds to 3rd party banks and may be able to give you a better idea of what’s happening

If you got an advance and paid fees with your refund and still don’t have your money, there is a GOOD CHANCE you are in that group and just don’t know it.
Has your BF gotten his check? Do you have the same address? Do you remember approximately what date you got your fed refund?

Those checks were scheduled to be cut on 4/22 and mailed by 4/25
So if you’re in that small group you should get it by Wednesday no matter where you live

For most a paper check was auto generated when the DD was rejected – if your temp account was still open for some reason, it would cause a delay
The good news? The issue was identified early last week and made demand for return of funds

If you don’t have your check yet, there is a chance you are in a very small group whose temp accounts were still open at a 3rd party bank when the DD was sent so it wasn’t rejected like everyone else’s
@MaryGen on the 25th informed delivery showed us getting no mail, but when I checked the mail not only did I get my stimulus , but my 2 adult son’s checks were there too.

At least they have the correct info NOW for a 2nd stimulus if politicians can resist making it political and just pass a stimulus package without trying to jam things like climate change, election junk and pork for special interests

The problem is that many refunds didn’t get sent to peoples accounts. They went to a tax preparer or bank like republic to repay advances. The IRS didn’t realize the path refunds travel to get to citizens in many cases.
My mother’s hit about 8 PM yesterday. She said her DDD was 4/29 and her credit union NEVER posts on the weekend.

What’s “strange” is my mother says she doesn’t like service credit union because she says NOTHING posts on weekends – her ACH payments or deposits when us kids send her money.

I’m in New Hampshire and was getting more nervous with each passing day that my check was lost as I watched everyone start getting them on Monday.
Informed delivery showed NOTHING today, but the mailman showed up with my check and my 2 adult son’s checks (they live hours away, but I file for them)
Nothing showing on informed delivery, but the mailman delivered my stimulus check as well as my 2 adult son’s checks too!
I’m not sure why they were still using my address, but they are both now making the hours long drive to get their checks.
Hopefully everyone else gets theirs today too

There were 700k checks mailed – broken into 4 batches. First was Saturday 4/17 then 18,20,21

If you filed with an advance or fees with a prepaid card chances are good you are in the check category which people will get throughout the week next week

If you aren’t seeing an update on WMP , and got an advance OR paid fees from your refund you will probably get a paper check by Friday

Been saying it for days. That’s exactly what my SIL told me whose worked for JH over 10 years.
The IRS system is set up to.auto convert a rejected deposit to paper check.

If the IRS follows the normal procedure they may try to DD it again OR simply self you a paper check which started being delivered today in the 4/24 run.
Their normal process is to convert a rejected DD to a paper check sent to your last reported address

If you entered your DD info last wed or Thursday you SHOULD be a DD 4/22 or a check 4/24 UNLESS your one of us whose initial DD was rejected by a 3rd party bank that the IRS tried to out through again OR one of the people slowed down due to not filing in 2018 or 2019
I’m glad your family has at least gotten part of what’s coming. Hopefully the rest will come soon!
The good news is, they have your DD info for the next round of checks – likely 2k plus 500 per dependent.
The reason for that is likely because you, like me either had an advance or fees paid from your refund.
So your DD was made the first day 4/13 but instead of your acct it went to a 3rd party acct – either tax prep or advance bank
Those payments were refused or returned so the system auto converts to a check. People started getting them today. Hopefully we will have them by end of week

The tax prep people and banks like republic were on board to pass stimulus that they got to tax payers.
People messed that up by filing complaints via BBB and SOS in big numbers the days leading up to the first DD and republic and JH pulled out on the 12th with others following saying they didn’t want the legal liability
You said your husband got his last week, but you’re still waiting.
Do you file separately? Married filing separately? Every married couple I know has gotten the stimulus at the same time

People with a day of 4/24 are already receiving PAPER checks.
So “check” definitely isn’t code for a dire t deposit.

I think there are def some other people getting caught up in this, but I think those of us with advances and fees that cause our refunds to go to a 3rd party are a big part of the confusion with the IRS.
I just don’t think they really understood that part of it before doing that first big batch of stimulus payments
If you aren’t getting a date yet, I hope you do just wake up to see a deposit out of the blue, but I don’t understand why you wouldn’t have been in the 4/22 batch

If you really step outside of everything and think about it – that’s what makes sense anyway.
For them to cancel all the returned DD transactions and rerun with new DD info would have been a mess.
Their system isn’t set up for that. Hopefully the next round will be smoother

.there is a big DD set to hit 4/22 and a massive amount of checks running constantly.If you aren’t in the 4/22 DD you are probably getting a check that you will receive this week or the start of next.

My SIL has worked for JH for over 10 years, so she gets a good amount of info because of her position.
She hasn’t steered me wrong yet, and that’s what she’s telling me. A big run of checks was processed Friday afternoon and prob started to be mailed Saturday which is why some are already getting them

Think about what happened. They sent millions of dollars DD that were rejected or returned
The system is already set up to convert those to paper checks. I think they just knew checks would be faster than trying to cancel and overwrite DD info for millions of people.
99% sure you will get a paper check this week.
The IRS system is set up to auto convert a returned deposit to a paper check and I think it made more sense for them to stick to that instead of trying to cancel a million transactions and override DD info
They prob will use the DD info for the next check.

She said as a company that they immediately returned the initial batch of DD that they received as did republic and some others
At that point I think it was easier to let the system in place to kick in and auto send paper checks

My SIL is a preparer for JH and 2 weeks ago she got an email saying there was an agreement between the preparers and banks like republic to reopen temp accounts and route the stimulus checks.
Then 2 days later she got another email saying some banks (republic) pulled out for legal reasons due to the BBB and SOS complaints mounting even before the first DD was sent

There will be at least 1 more stimulus check. Hopefully it goes smoother now that the IRS has a better understanding of the path our refunds take to get into our hands

The IRS obviously wasn’t expecting a situation where they would have to send a trillion dollars out divided up to every citizen, but tins of people have gotten their money
So I think the delay has more to do with the way I CHOSE to file my taxes and ZERO to do with the govt delaying intentionally

Even though we updated our DD info I don’t think the system was set up in a way to accept the change because our stimulus checks were already sent…..just to a 3rd party account like our refunds were.
The only good news is – deposits for refunds often came before the DDD on the WMR app, so I think checks and deposits for stimulus will be too
I’m betting paper check, because I’m in that group of people who got an advance and paid fees from my refund.
I updated by DD info minutes after the portal opened for myself personally and did the same for my son the next day

One thing I know is – everyone around me has their stimulus so they ARE obviously sending them.
Try to be patient and understand the process and how we filed made getting our money to us more difficult.

So this isn’t an intentional thing or something they had initial control of.
And when you consider millions of people were in the same situation that wasn’t anticipated.
I think adding new DD info for a payment already sent wasn’t an easy fix so they are just sending paper checks

When they made the first initial huge DD to millions of people, most of us were in that batch, but our stimulus deposits were in many cases refused because the temp accounts used by the preparer or bank were now closed.
I don’t think they really knew the path our refunds take to get to us.
They ARE attempting to go by income, but those of us that didn’t have a straight shot DD directly from the IRS was a problem they didn’t account for.
They didn’t think about the path the refund takes to get to us and that the DD was actually to a preparer to deduct fees or a bank to recoup an advance
That’s the problem.
Those of us that got advances are the ones thrown off schedule because the IRS did trigger a DD , it just went to republic or whichever bank gave you an advance.
That money was returned to IRS and they are converting to paper check
So if you got an advance by next Wednesday you should have your money. Just make sure to still update the IRS page for the next check because there will be 1 more when Congress comes back in may –
Child support is the only thing that can offset these stimulus payments so if you are in arrears with court action pending it will prob go to your ex
@tia if you filed with a commercial tax co like JH or HR and got an advance, 99.9999% sure you are getting a paper check.
Your stimulus was likely DD to whatever bank gave you the advance – Republic or whatever.

I updated my info wed morning right after it went live. I think that’s because the IRS tried to DD my stimulus but due to the fact I filed with an advance and fees that had to come from my refund the DD went to a closed account for JH or Republic Bank

Hearing stories of people getting mailed checks this morning. I didn’t believe any of them just assuming they were trolls until a relative told me her daughter got one and that she had filed through HR with some sort of advance

I don’t think the IRS or the govt took into account the complicated path some refunds take to get to taxpayers by the time fees and advances are paid.
So they sent out DD to millions of people whose money was rejected by now closed temp accounts at banks like republic.
That’s why checks are being mailed. Hopefully it will be fixed for the next round of checks
I got my refund to an amex serve card after filing through JH with an advance.
I updated my bank info first thing Wednesday and got locked out for checking too often.
Finally got back in today to find out I will have a check mailed 4/24
